Hey ladies...just a short session as I've tons to do today!

Nancy and I had a fabulous time at Arlington. She gave me the grand tour and explained about the markers, the history, etc. I got to "meet" her husband - when she laid flowers for him. It was just an anwesome experiece! Thanks Nancy!

Kathi - I hear you...when I first met with this guy he said he did PT for 15 years prior to becoming a personal trainer - but, I'm having some doubts about his methods. Not only are his core exercises to hard for what my stomach muscles can handle right now, but he doesn't seem to show any regard for the ankle issue (arthritis and ostechondreal defect) I have either. I have other "beefs" as well so I will speak to him tonight about my concers and he'll either listen or I'll find another trainer. I have no intention of undoing anything that's recovered by over doing it or doing it wrong. I should have looked for someone who specializes in BC patients but I just didn't know where to look?

Kona - I hope by now your cold has subsided some. Isn't it amazing how somehting so common can make us feel like crap? ((HUG)) darling...I feel your pain!

Dream/Sait - ((((Hugs))) I hope you are both feeling like your old selves again...

Otter - Gotta love it when you spend LESS than you thought you would instead of MORE!!

Rinna - I'm going with Kathi's suggestion that there is something going on that shouldn't be. I'd have a wound care specialist look at that...MHS (my humble suggestion)

Rachel...Barbe...sessna, kmmd, lovin...good to see you all!

    Have a good day peeps!

Bonnie, thanks for not mentioning our "close encounter" with the cop...   I too enjoyed sharing with you.  It is always better to go with someone who appreciates the significance and the awesomeness of it.   AND, THANKS for serving ((((((( bonnie )))))))))) and all of our veterans.

THAT SUCKS, as needed.  May those suckies go far away today or by weeks end.   Healing vibes and good thoughts go out to all.    HUGS,   Nancy

Hello ladies- I haven't posted for a long time- just wanted to add my two cents:  It has rained in my sleepy little Idaho town for 33 straight days now- more rain today!   It is so depressing- I don't know how the people that live in Seattle do it.  I have mushrooms growing in my yard- never happened before.  I haven't been able to walk outside- or plant flowers or anything.  Oh where is our summer?  I know this is minor- but very irritating just the same.  To all you sisters out there that have REAL issues- God bless and peace to you,  Tami

Idaho, we haven't had that many straight days of rain but have had the wettest spring in 6 yrs, we have had an occasional day without rain but I too have mushrooms in my yard under my big oak trees. I had mushrooms when I first moved in my house but for the past 3 or 4 yrs we were in drought conditions and I didn't have the mushrooms.

But now that you mention it...someone please, ask Nancy how to get out of a ticket!

Too darn many posts to read ----- pages and pages!

I've been getting through the last several weeks of #1 daughter's high school years. Senior projects, prom (gorgeous!), angst, drama, more angst, the shopping, finals, graduation, and the grad party. Oh, and more angst and drama. It's all over now. In two months she heads off to college and I get a whole new set of things to worry about!

She's been quite cooperative in the past few days. Volunteering to cook and do grocery shopping. Something has to be going on...this is not like her at all.

#2 Daughter begins drivers' ed tonight. She's had her permit since March, but was having trouble finding the right place to take lessons. They used to offer it through the school district, but budget cuts, even though it was self-supporting, did it in. :(

I have had my oncologist appt - a few weeks later than was planned. All went well - staying on tamoxifen and effexor. Lots of hot flashes/night sweats. I've been running and there have been times when I wondered if I was hot or having a hot flash while out on the road.

Got the mammogram last Thursday and received an immediate all-clear. WHEW! After the past two years when there was something each time, an all clear is a lovely, lovely thing.

Running. I've been training since January to run a half marathon...and the race is on Saturday. 13.1 miles. I alternate between excitement and trepidation.

Anyhoo - hope all are doing well. i'll come back on tonight or tomorrow and read through the pages and catch up.

    Take care!

Hey Pam, so good to see you! Thanks for catching us up! Sounds like you are busy and enjoying life...just the way it should be! Good luck with the marathon...even when I weighed 95lbs soaking wet (yes, sad to say I used to weigh that in my 20's) I couldn't run a marathon if the wind was at my back and someone was pulling me along! You go! Of course now that I've riled Nancy's feathers I might just have to!!

Just a drive by to see how Monday was...quiet. I like that! Have a GREAT day everyone!

Update on the draining breast: It seems to be tapering off. Went for Chemo  #2 yesterday and my OC was not there, so I saw a different one, who I swear to God looked like she was 25yrs old. She was nice... Anyway I asked he about the OT and PT thing and she said it was something she would refer me to.

My greatest beef about the day: I was scheduled for blookwork at 9:30, and Chemo at 10:30. At the clinic I know that that really means that your appt with your OC is at 10:30 and then he/she orders your chemo drugs, and you wait until they are ready. Well, my boodwork was done at 10:00. Didn't get to see the OC until 1:30, then waited until 3:30 for the chemo. I didn't get home until 5:00. My BF has the patience of Job, as she did not complain once that day. I DID!  Next time I am going to remind them that I waited until the end and do not deserve to be treated that way again!! UGH

    I missed my friends!!!!!! ((((((((((hugs)))))))))

Saint, I didn't know you had so much crap going on. I'm sorry girl. ((((hugs))))

Dream, My ex DH had stents put in his legs and it wasn't fun. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Bonnie, when you said "after this year, a little rain isn't going to hurt us" I literally spit out my drink. You are too funny girl. The pulling off your Dr's nuts was pretty funny too. :)

Otter, good to see you girl. I haven't been shopping in so long, I forgot what a deal was.

Kathi, I voted for your blog just now. I will check in out when done here, if I can remember!!! I do want to read it though, will you send me an email to traciwalters@gmail.com so I can subscribe??

Pam, congrats on the all clear mammo. That is fantastic news!!

Barbe, almost every....single....one of your posts cracks me up. You are hilarious.

Sessna, Renna, Connie, Tami, & Elizabeth....sorry 'bout all y'alls suckiness.

Holtbolt, tell your son that Joe Perry and Steven Tyler made eye contact with me at a concert in Tampa. We were 3 rows from the walk out stage and they (Joe and Steven) jammed for several minutes...literally......right in front of us. It was one of the best times of my life. I've been an Aerosmith fan for years and years and years and years. I've seen them 5 or 6 times (can't remember...lol) in concert.  I voted for him too, and will tell all my friends to do so as well. That would be beyond cool if he won.

I hope I didn't forget anybody. Prayers for our LisaSDCA, please.

    Love you girls,

    Traci

PS: Since sex with my OAOA, I feel better! :) I'm homesick now though. All is well though, can't really bitch and moan about anything. Thank GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!

PSS: Tami, send some of that rain TX will you? Our forecast: 100-110 for the next 45 days with no rain in site. Dog days of summer are here.

    Hey, everybody--Whasux???

I have an IOS that, thank goodness, did not happen to me ... but I watched it happen and I'm still shaking.

My dh and I were stopped for lunch at a truck stop/burgerdoodle along an interstate highway today.  We were sitting there, eating our lunch, when all of a sudden a guy went running out the door of the truck stop, hollering, "Stop her!  STOP HER!!!  She stole my wallet!".  He was running toward a car that was parked by one of the gas pumps.

A woman had just sat down in the driver's seat of the car and shut the door.  The guy was still yelling, "She stole my wallet!", as he ran up to the driver's side of the car.  He grabbed ahold of the car door and pulled, but the door was (apparently) locked.  He tugged on it some more, as the woman started the engine.

(I am thinking, she stole his wallet, and now she is stealing his car?...)

Unable to get the driver's side door open, the guy put both hands along the top edge of the driver's side window (which for some reason was partially lowered), and he PULLED really hard...  (I could not figure out what he was doing.)  ... and the entire driver's side window came busting out in his hands.  There was a shower of safety glass, and little pieces flew everywhere.

But the woman was undeterred.  (By now I am thinking, "She's no fool.  She knows what she's doing--she's done this before.")  She gunned the engine and squealed away from the gas pump.

The guy was still hanging on to the driver's side door (at the window edge, which eventually tore off in his hands), and his feet slipped out from under him, so he was being dragged alongside the car.  (I couldn't believe we were sitting there in a burgerdoodle, watching this happen just outside the window.)  The driver accelerated some more and swung in a tight hairpin turn, tires squealing, headed back toward the street.  The guy lost his grip on the window and slid to the pavement.

The driver drove back past the gas pumps, fish-tailing the car in tight S-curves, tires squealing and smoking. (It was much more dramatic than anything I've ever seen on TV).  Then she turned out onto the street and headed out of sight toward the freeway.

The guy whose wallet had been stolen, and who had broken out the car window trying to retrieve it, and was dragged by the moving car, was lying face-down on the concrete by the gas pumps.... not moving.  For a really long time, he didn't move.  ("Oh, sh*t," I thought.  He's dead.)

This all took just a few seconds, start to finish, but there were already 8 or 10 people running out toward the guy to help him even as he fell to the pavement.  Most of the other people were employees of the truck stop or the burger joint.  Somebody yelled "CALL 9-1-1!".  Someone else repeated the order to call 911, and said to give EMS the freeway exit number where the truck stop was located.  (It was miles from anywhere.)

It took a long time, but finally the guy was able to sit up, and then stand up and walk back into the burgerdoodle.  They sat him down right next to us.  He had family with him, and they were holding bags of ice on his wounds.  He had a terrible bump on his head (he had hit his head when he fell), and horrid scrapes on his legs and forearm.  Most of the skin from his forearm was gone.  "Road rash," I guess they call it--bits of pavement and dirt were embedded in the abraded skin.

The police and a fire truck (?) and an ambulance arrived within the next 5 minutes.  The EMS/paramedics were escorting the guy into the ambulance as we drove away.

Turns out, the guy was from a town about 30 miles from where I grew up.  He and his family were on their way to Florida for vacation.

    Sheesh.  An IOS for sure.

Did anybody get the car number plate details, Otter?  I guess you were all so gobsmacked it didn't enter your minds at the time. I hope he didn't have all his holiday money in cash in his wallet.

A friend of mine had her hand-bag snatched off her arm years ago and she chased the bloke, knocked him down and took her bag back!  She didn't want to go through all the bother with the police or be without her bankcards, lose her money etc, for any length of time.  Shopkeepers/business owners are getting so sick of being robbed down here they are fighting the robbers back, without guns, and keeping their property/money.  The police tell them it's a dangerous thing to do but they never catch them either so what's a shop keeper to do?

I was worried about being 'mugged' at the mall so I attached very small bells to my bags, purse, phone and keys so that I will know if someone is trying to pick my pocket and if they do I will just follow the bells or yell to all and sundry "Stop thief, that's my purse, follow the bells!"

    Sheila.

Otter, that is why my hubby (a trucker) doesn't keep his money in his wallet. Although he does have vital cards in his wallet that are hard to replace. But who would want to rob a 6 ft 3 in man who is very intimidating in size. If he saw it happening, he would have helped stop the woman and held her until police arrived. I am glad he wasn't seriously injured (requiring hospitalization)
