I get e-mail notifications on this thread and had to log on to see your picture.

BEAUTIFUL is the only description that I can come up with.

dream, if you were the second ugliest in school, either you had a class full of really beautiful people, or you imitated a swan and got more beautiful as you grew older because that picture is of  a beautiful woman.

My former boss, then dear friend, passed away of breast cancer this morning.  It was my first news of the day - before coffee.

    hi guys,

i've only posted here once, but i've been reading this thread for months now, and i think it's great. my gripe is that i have a lump on my neck, and it really hurts. i don't wanna take any painkillers, cause i think i put enough poison in my body, with the chemo, and my diet before i was dxed was terrible.

Sagit a big that SUX to you...I understand the not wanting to take meds believe me! But, if you need them...have you had this lump checked out? Or, are you staying in denial because you're sick of doctors too? I understand this as well, but unfortunately - they are a necessary evil.

I'm back to the doctor tomorrow. Either Barbe jinxed me with the week long cortisone shot, or I did something aweful to my ankle Sunday chasing the dog who tried to run out the fence. I didn't twist it or anything like that but it's been killing me since, I've had to wear my "boot" for 3 days now and that and icing haven't stopped the pain when I walk on it. I swear...is there a rule I don't know about that says once you hit 40 you HAVE to have all kids of issues???

Shout out to Lisa - who I hope is home by now (coming to look for your thread next) and Traci - who must be (MUST) enjoying life!

    Cheers!!

    hi navygirl,

me and my dh went 2 the e.r. right after it started, but since we r, unfortunately, in israel (i wanted 2 come here 2 get the chemo. stupid me! should've done an alternative treatment instead, and i had no insurance in ny. now we r stuck here, and the immigration lawyer that takes care of the case takes forever) and the docs r really indifferent here, they said i need a ct and an ultrasound, but since they don't do it in the e.r. (wtf?), i was discharged. at first i was relieved, cause i really hate hospitals, but now i'm really pissed!

HS...that REALLY SUX sagit...I'm sorry. I hope that you can get what you need soon and in between the pain subsides. I can't even imagine.

My doc gave me another shot. He doesn't think I did anything serious to it, but I did wreck the effects of the last cortisone so he said we'd try one more time. He goes out of town next week for seminars so, hopefully while he's gone it will behave!

Glad to see it quiet. Hugs to all.

Can anybody tell me how long the chemobrain lasts?  I really scared myself the other day.  DD and I were going shopping to a mall I go to every month or so and I forgot how to get there.  She had to keep reminding me where to turn.  I'm used to the loss of words and forgetting what I'm doing, but I was really confused as to where I needed to go.  I also hit the gas instead of the break the other day when I drove in the driveway.  I have a standard shift, so my foot was on the clutch, but it's still scarey.

Oh Navy! Crap! You know I'd only wish you the best, I'm so sorry I 'jinxed' you. I've had those shots last hours and I KNOW when it's gone as I crumple to the floor!

Jane, don't worry, chemo brain slides very seamlessly into senility! Laughing (just kidding!)
