Wow. I missed so much! I missed you guys and I'm happy to have gotten to "meet" all the new faces through your posts, however am sad to hear all the crappy news.
Sorry I haven't been around much. I'll try to improve on that again!
I wish I would have written stuff down while reading the 130 posts but I didn't.
I'm so sorry about the beautiful nurse's liver, and the boss/friend that died, and sagit....I hope you have a wonderful time in NY.
Hugs everybody else, you are all in my daily thoughts.

It is hard to keep up with the posts and remember who said what. I sometimes find it hard to remember what goes on which thread. It could be tamoxifen brain fog or just old age.
Hugs to all!!!!!

This is a great big SUX!!! Why do I pay docs to read my test results if they miss things?????
First PET...saw something light up on ovaries and uterus..docs office never followed up to have an us.I found that on the results and pushed for us.
On original breast MRI there was a lump seen in the left breast (not the cancer breast),,,suggested us and biopsy...i had to readt that and go back and ask for it. Luckily both of those were negative!!
Now I am reading my report from my April breast MRI and there on the bottom.....yep yopu guessed it...they missed something again!!!!! It says..there is a questionable area of irregular or patchy consolidation of 24 mm in the left upper lung. It could also be a collapsed lung. A chest xray should be ordered to check this out.
WTF????!?!?! That was in April. I should of seen it sooner, but why didn't the docs?? 6 docs looked at this and no one mentioned it to me??? Off to email my pcp to ask for an xray tomorrow.

Ladies, doctors are human. Docs can SUX. Please get copies of the documents in your medical files, and disks of scans, etc.
Read the notes and reports, you, too, may find out something that wasn't done, gone over, explored, etc.
Doctors are not gods. Treating them as if they are... SUX.

Sagit, have a good trip
Renee: please keep us updated, hope you're feeling better soon
Kimberly: how frustrating, hopefully if it was in April anything serious by now you'd know about and all will be fine
Sessna: going to laugh about that all night, doctors are human, doctors can SUX, love it
Barbe: what did I miss? what are you getting pre-op'd for? Sorry I missed it, been working some longer hours and harder to keep up

Hi All, a drive by for me as well. I haven't been here for a while. Hope everyones Suckage quota remains low.
Saint, old scars opening? O my. Hope you know you are in my prayers daily
I have a question. My onc is retiring and moving to England next month. Even tho I've passed the 5 year mark I still see him everyone 3 months for my aredia infusion. I'm very sad that he is leaving and hoping I like the new doc coming in.
Anywhos my question is, what kind of thank you/going away gift should I give him, if any?

Sherloc, being alive and grateful is a wonderful going away gift. What about a letter he can read and/or put in an album to look at in later years. A heart-felt note would mean a lot to me....
Don't know if I mentioned here or not (confusing) my kidney stone (aka Mick (Jagger)) is gettting surgically removed Friday, tomorrow! Finally!
My surgon had a plaque in his office that made me know I'd picked the right doc. It said:
God does all the work. I get all the credit.

Barbe, that is a surgeon with a sense of humor, I would like that too. Good luck, so happy that is finally going to be operated on it has given you no end of grief

Im looking forward to Sunday, when I meet Terricaroline again. We are gonna have lunch.
She is coming through from Sparrow Lake and my daughter is going there with GS and BF for two weeks. We will miss the little guy.
He has been at our place and such a delight (other than the not getting his own way tantrums). He is learning to cook with grandpa. Made omlettes with grandpa the other night. He got to flip the two sides over - he did well. Grandpa brought me the plate and he brought me the cutlery. Yummy dinner.
Well we have had a long break but today the writing club gets together. Looking forward to that.

Hi, everyone! I have a ton of catching up to do here on bco, but Hugs to OmahaGirl & Sagit (that's as far as I got reading!!) & good luck, Barbe & hugs to Saint & a large THAT SUCKS to everyone.
Omaha, BTW, you don't have to do reconstruction AT ALL, you know. Check out all your options. This site is a good place to do that.
A year ago today I was diagnosed with this Beast. And I'M STILL HERE!! In celebration of that, I made a shirt with my blog avatar on the front & a bunch of my peeps here on the back. So, this is my way to say thanks to all of you for helping me cope & laugh & not feel alone & not lose my ever-loving mind this last year. You all mean the world to me. I wouldn't have come throught this without you.

Thanks for the well wishes guys but I ended up back at the ER for 12 hours! The stent slipped and then came out. The stent protects the ureter walls from the passing of the shards left from the laser. The stent also makes sure the ureter doesn't collapse or form scar tissue. They didn't have an OR for me so I was sent home with even more Demerol and told to come back if 150 mgs of Demerol doesn't keep me pain free and they'd admit me! Worried more about the ureter than the pain...0
-
I am assuming the Dr's said it is okay to wait until Monday to reposition the stent? What the f... is there no such thing as smooth sailing and if not, why is such a quote ever said, and if I ever find the person who made that stupid saying up I am going to slap them, because since my BC I feel the urge to slap someone everyday, I used to be sweet! Healing Hugs Barbe and I hope the meds keep you comfortable.

They may not even put one back in! I took 3 Demerol at 4 am and am sitting here wondering what to do. Hurt to sit up at 4, so I lay down, hurts to lie down, so I`m now sitting up....0

So sorry you are feeling this way, this part ureter is pretty sensitive, maybe if you could get Dilaudid or some other form of pain killer, on Sunday could be a little complicated, calling your pharmacist could also help at this point, like telling you what you can add (over the counter) to the Demerol as far as pain killing is concerned. And finally if not getting help going back to hospital for a presciption for something else...
Sorry to finish in french, but as Barb said she was french from Québec, like me, sometimes easier to express myself, as I am not that good with writing in english.
