Thanks!!  I wanted to go out to dinner, to celebrate.  Maybe I'll wait and do that NEXT YEAR...

Besides, next month is my BIRTHDAY, and I know I will be celebrating, and eating dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant!!

Hope everyone has a great, non-bitchy day!

Congrats Harley!  I love that you celebrate it -maybe I should try that :)

I haven't been posting, but I've been reading and keeping everyone in my prayers. I've also laughed at some of your posts...I love, love, love that we can keep our sense of humor through it all. I lost my smile for a little while, depression got the better of me with everything that went on witht the family and some new health issues. I just fell in a hole and couldn't get out. Fortunately, my partner and my best friend had my back and got me to the doctor and on some anti-depressants. It's been a month now and the cloud has finally lifted and I once again feel like I can get up and face the day.

A big fat welcome to those of you who've joined our little circle since the last time I was active here. I'm glad we have this place for people to come to where they can vent, and scream, and rail against the crap the are going through-without fear of rejection or being discounted. Sometimes, you just need to say how you feel without worrying about hurting someones feelings or trying to make everything ok for someone else. It's good to see others coming her to let it all out.

And Barbe...I hear congratulations are in order? Another new grandbaby for you! That's awesome, you don't look like a grandmother, but I'm sure those babies are gonna love having you to spoil them :)

I hope everyone's loved ones are safe with all the disaster and turmoil going on in the world today. Sometimes I feel like we live in such uncertain times, it scares me. I can't even imagine the hell the Japanese people are going through right now, but I am completely in awe of the men who are sacrificing their own health and safety to try and prevent a world wide disaster. It's really humbling to see people be so selfless.

Ok, I've been gone far too long but I don't want to hijack the thread - it feels good to come back out of the shadows.

    XOXOXOXO

Great to hear from you Navy!! Thank God your partner knows you so well that she knew what she was seeing wasn't 'you'!!! Hope the other health issues are treatable, too.

Congratulations Barbe, looks like you have a very male dominated family too!  We are expecting our second in late April and that mother plans to have another as soon as possible afterwards.

Then again, once she has the first one, she might decide one is enough.

    Sheila.

I am annoyed with the changes here, too.

    Navygirl,

Hey, GOOD to SEE YOU!!  Sorry to hear about your depression issues.  I am glad that your partner got you the help you needed.  Hope to see you again on FB soon.

Thanks for the happy cancerversary wishes!  I DO celebrate...  maybe it's kind of silly, but I figure as long as I am still ALIVE, I'm gonna CELEBRATE!!  WHOHOO!!

We didn't celebrate...  My MIL has been staying with us, cause she broke her ankle.  She has been with us for about a month now.   We took her to her surgeon last week, to have the original cast removed, and to put on the lighter, 'walking' cast.  She is doing ok with her walker, so now she wants to go home.   and we are also happy to have her go back home.  I love her dearly, ...

but I want my HOUSE back!!!    LMAO

Hope everyone has a wonderful non bitchy weekend!

oooooh Harley, I did NOT have a non bitchy weekend.  I am so bitchy now I could scream.  My son came for the weekend to help out with household things, and only got to 1/2 of them.  He put film on my sliders and was bitching his head off the entire time.  It was a difficult project I admit, but what a baby!!!  He's 29!!  I have direct afternoon sun and it was imperative I get the film on.  Professionals are $100 a window, and I've got 13 of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We got 4 done.  Then he got in a fight with his girlfriend and she called me to bitch and moan, and I just didn't answer.

I am so tired of not feeling well.  I have had torso itching for almost 2 weeks now! (who the hell gets torso itching !!??)  Its driving me mad and not time for a benadryl yet.  I've had an epsom salt bath and hydrocortisone cream.  I've only scratched one into a sore, ... it    just   won't   stop.  F'd up my ps appt last week and now I really need more info but don't want to pay $45 for it again!  I have a $200 foob mri tomorrow and I have no idea why.  Foob is warm, not hot anymore, not swollen but very firm to the touch. ( Ya', I touch them all the time.)  Feels like something is pushing behind it.  Wonder if the 2 antibiotics helped any.  Probably NOT !!!!!!!

I ran into problems with a project yesterday and walked about a mile longer than I am able...oh my aching burning back.  Is it time for Lortab yet?  Hell yes!!   My ears are on their 4th week of ringing, my bp is up,down,up,down BUT I DIDN'T GET THE SCREAMING HEADACHE TODAY.  Ending on a happy note~~~~~

Ruth, Iwishyoufeltbettertoo. Sorry for everybody's suckage--Connie's pagan neighbors annd IC, navy being depressed EVER, AT ALL, all the yukkies.

I  was gone for awhile.  I went  to EyesoTex's Memorial Service, one of my May08 ladies came to visit and went with me.  It was sad but happy.  I read here often but seldom post now, I guess I am trying to get "unstuck" from the whole cancer thing.  Sorry I can't remember who asked about the house but yes, it will be torn down when the land is sold.  House is nearing the end of its useful life, needs foundation work, new plumbing (we keep it limping along). It is very sad to think of it being torn down but the land has become so valuable as commercial property that that is the only way to go.   It is an old, 1890s farmhouse...with a round, rock wellhouse and a dinner bell in the front yard....old lilac bushes, beautiful tall trees (the only ones in the whole neighborhood).  We are taking the dinner bell and the lilac bushes with us when itt sells and then we are moving to Georgia and building a house next to a grass runway (My husband is a pilot)...I am in Haslet, which is about 20 miles north of Fort Worth up by Alliance Airport.

Not a bitch, not a moan--but news, anyyway--we just found out our oldest son and his wife and expecting their first baby (our first grandchild) in November... I am very excited!!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Ruth,  Ialsowishyoufeltbetter....  sorry your weekend was sucky, too.  Hope you feel better soon!  The itchies....  UGH!   I have talked with a bunch of women today, and there were quite a few who had been complaining of itchiness issues...  weird, huh?  Hope you can get it straightened out soon!

Grandbabies are the BEST!!! I have THREE now as my son's was born last week. THREE GRANDSONS!!?!?!? Within 6 months! Can you imagine the headlines about 18 years from now????

Sad about the house being torn down, it was me that asked. Can't you get ahold of a historic society or something that would move and preserve it? Can you imagine your toilet preserved for all to see? Laughing

Scrath away ladies!! What's that pink stuff that stops itching ....Calomine lotion?

I just love this thread!  A number of us have additional physical challenges to deal with, so here's some new info.  I have chronic back pain and my pcp gave me a rx for a new drug yesterday.  Its called Butrans (buprenorphine) and its a patch you wear for a month at a time!  She described it as Tylenol3 like but the brochure says its a 'mu opiod partial agonist and a sched. III controlled substance'.  I've been taking Lortab for 3 years, so maybe this will offer relief without the side effects.  There is also a $40 discount card good monthly thru 12/11.  Just enough time to get you addicted???  haha, hope NOT. I'll let you know how it works once I get it.

My lingering side effects and chemo symptoms are making their way slowly out of my system even after 6 months!  For the rampant rash, I had a Lavendar Epsom Salt bath in lieu of Calomine lotion and it was nice!  Now on steriods and some skin cream.  The boob thing was an infection !?!?  Continue on with antibiotics.  I WILL EVENTUALLY FEEL BETTER.  I used to be such a healthy person, very active and looked 15 yrs younger than my real age.  Grrrrrr  Now I'm an old grump that takes care of rescue dogs and visits my pharmacy daily.  This is the bitch moan thread isn't it????

    Ruth

I just posted a message here to you and before I could hit SUBMIT...  POOF, it is GONE!  GRRR  I really HATE it when that happens!

Anywhoo...   I was just sayin'  that I have never heard of Lavender Epsom Salts, but it sounds LOVELY!!    I soad in a tub filled with warm water, and add Epsom Salts.  It is GREAT for aches and pains, especially the joint aches that we get from those dreaded hormonal therapies we ER+ gals have.   The reason Epsom Salts work so well, is that the magnesium absorbs directly into the skin!!  It doesn't have to go through the digestive system, just goes STRAIGHT to the problem areas....

    Harley,

I hate when that happens too!!!  and Grrrr!

I got it at Walgreens Pharmacy...I was just looking for the plain kind and there it was on the shelf.   mmm, the whole upstairs still smells good and so did I.  I've never done it before because I really don't enjoy a soak, but the nice smell makes it more motivating.  Magnesium huh? I'll have to google that.

    Hugs :)

Ruth...we haven't formall met, but your posts crack me up! I know, it's not polite to laugh at someone else's woes, but I can just see your hands flailing and your head bobbing as I read :)

Sue...I'm sorry I forgot to say WELCOME BACK! We sure have missed you! I wish I was rich, I'd buy your house to restore it instead of seeing it torn down. My house was built in 1920, and there's just nothing like these old house's. The one's they build today are like a house of cards compared to they way they used to build them. I'll probably end up in Georgia one day myself, it's beautiful and just far enough south without being too far south -you know? Congrats on the grandbaby to you as well, will you be nearer to the first grandbaby when you move?

Harley - I got one of the tests back...osteopenia :(  I go in on Monday to see how the fracture is healing; here's hoping I can take this blessed boot off and he has the rest of the test results back. I'm not finding any humor in any of this.

I'm exhausted today so I think I'll retire early and just watch some boob-tube in my big comfy bed!

XOXO to all of you ladies...Connie, you're due for a check in!

Here's a bitch. I finally went and got my spine x-rays done (from December requisition)! I got a call from the hospital to come in and do a bone scan!! I'd be freaking out except that the scan isn't until June 3rd. So just 2 months of sweating it out.....sigh.

    barbe1958,

Why can't they get you in for the bone scan any earlier?  I'm thinking if they aren't in a RUSH to do the test, maybe it isn't anything too critical?  I don't know, girl, a BONE SCAN sounds pretty critical to me.  Maybe you can get the doctor to pull his weight with the hospital, to get you in sooner?  I dunno...   I couldn't wait THREE months...    I'll be thinking of you, and hoping it's all GOOD...

Ruth,  I LOVE to soak in a nice, warm tub!  Especially in the Winter, when it's so COLD outside!  Thanks for the advice, about Walgreens...  I'll have to go look for the Lavender kind...  uhm... I never officially looked it up, but I  heard somewhere, or maybe I read the package on the Epsom Salts...  I dunno...   but it makes sense to me...

navygirl,  awww.... that sucks!  I also have osteopenia OFFICIALLY, from my last bone density test...   UGH...   but, they don't want to treat it....   my onc. would go aheaf and put me on those bisphosphanates IF I agreed to stay on Femara...  I refused...  now I'm back on Tamoxifen.  Sorry about your ankle, and that stupid BOOT!  But hey, if ANY of your doctors give you any lip while you're wearing that thing, just kick 'em real HARD!!!   LOL
