mahometmom - I am in Mansfield! How crazy is that?!
Did you see the pics I just posted this morning? I just had my hair colored on Feb. 1st. It fell out when I had 2 rounds of A/C (I had four of those) but it started growing back as I had 11 rounds of Taxol.
I don't know the guidelines for color to "stick" but mine worked well at this stage.

gingersfavorite1: I love your hair. you looked great with no hair and the big, beautiful blue eyes. I do like the silver hair too, just beautiful, great choice of color too!! I so want hair
Diane: Good luck on your date tonight. I pray all will go well with you, you deserve a great evening, fun, good times and forget about this bc for a while. All the best, let us know how it goes. I'm soooo excited for you

Ginger you are so lucky - you look good without hair, with silver hair and short blonde hair!

Diane: Hope tonight is fun. Stephanie - It looks fantastic! I did the same thing. Always said I'l do salt and pepper but when it came in that way, I colored it - it felt too old. You are a month ahead of me and it gives me hope - if I look half that good on a month, I'll be thrilled.0

Stephanie - you looked really good bald and with short hair. My hair is tad bit longer than yours and is quite unruly. It's super curly at the top. I love your color, too. I kind of wish I hadn't gone so dark on the last hair color. Oh well...

Diane, hope last night was fun! And yes, I am having sleep issues-even more now that I had the ooph.
Ginger, beautiful!!! I love the blond! Thanks for sharing...I'd love to try blond but has brown chestnut now am don't want to strip the color out. I don't think it would work without bleaching it.0 -
thanks ladies!
I had been coloring my grey roots for years! I simply went back to the color I'd used pre-cancer. I considered going darker.... but the grey roots show up too soon w/dark hair..... blonde tends to camouflage it a little better.

Enjoyed catching up on the last few pages...so many great stories!
Regarding color - my hair is almost 1' long (hoooo ray) and brown and gray. Since its suggested we not use harsh chemicals for 6 months, I bought a Roux in red. It's temp color that washes out each time and is very gentle. Before I go out, I use a small sponge and apply it to my dry hair. I comb it and it dries in minutes. It gives it a rich color and I have gotten a lot of compliments believe it or not! This is a good temporary fix I think. I've never had my hair short or brown or curly, so I'm just trying to go with the flow. I think I may end up with a shorter style in the end after seeing some of the great pics here.

Last night was a BUST! He has more issues than me and somewhere in his life he lost his balls. He was not the same man i dated 20 yrs ago that is for sure, he's been beaten down by two bad marriages and I just don't have the time or energy to fix him. Although I may give him some pointers on dressing in 2011! Oh BUT he did say my hair looked cute and when I told him what I've been dealing with he was a sweetie...we"ll remain friends but he's just not dateable right now and I am ready to date someone. He isn't yet divorced and I just can't deal with that...NEXT!
Daiva sorry you're having trouble sleeping. Funny thing since all of this I have been so fatigued I have no trouble sleeping at all. I sleep better now than ever before in my life. I am sure once the fatigue leaves me I will be back to no sleep and late night posting.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Oh AND he smokes! Who starts smoking at 44 years old?! Really???

Oh Diane, ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) I was hoping all night that things went well for you, you deserve the best. Smoking, yep I'm ashamed to admit I try to quit everyday...to a non-smoker, that's a biggie!! Married would be the real deal breaker, here's to hoping he's a nice friend, someone to lean on. Good luck.

Diane: So sorry your date was a bust, however, just getting out there and practicing is great for getting back out there! He sounds like a mess and a nightmare for a romantic involvement, not even sure if I could handle someone going through that as just a friend! Don't worry though, I found that when you meet someone who is right, nothing can come between! No matter what we have been through, there is always hope and the future.

Claire: What a beautiful family you have!!! And look at all that hair!

Diane, first off, I love your sense of humor!! I'm betting he left his balls in his soon to be ex-wife's purse. (I'm sorry, just had to say it, it was there and way too tempting).
You are going to find someone when you least expect it. I met my husband at the post office at a time that I had all but giving up on dating. Take care and hope you have a great weekend!

Claire your hair is so beautiful! My hair is growing back with lots of curl similiar to yours. I have to ask....are you on arimidex? My hair is growing back but there's a front section close to my forehead that is thinner and I'm sort of self-consicious about it.There's hair but it's not as dense. I am grateful for the hair growing back though.

I haven't taken anything to promote hair growth. The funny thing is my leg hair is almost nonexistant - i used to have shave every day.
My hair was always long and straight - i never had it above my shoulders. I hope i keep the curl - all i do is wash it asnd go- no drying or styling, amazing- before it took me an hour to do my hair.

Claire, your hair is beautiful and so are you!
I'm still on chemo (Taxol) and I can hardly wait until my hair grows, but it will be a while.
P.s your Grand kids is absolutely gorgeous!

Claire i really love your hair you look adorable and so do the babies. I am 2 months PFC still not much going on so not sure if it will curl looks kinda like it will be wavy like it was before. Right now it's just fuzz. I am taking biotin and using nioxin. not sure if it helps or not.

Claire - You hair looks terrific. However, as I am sure you will agree, the prettiest things in that picture are those two grandchildren. The girl is gorgeous and the baby is just precious. I just spent the day with my nephew and niece - kids are great for making you feel young and happy.
Diane - sorry you date did not go well, but I am cracking up at your post. Nothing worse than a man who has lost his balls somewhere along the way. LOL.

I am on Taxol number 9 monday and I have quite a bit of coverage and hope that after Taxol is done in three weeks it just takes off more. I am happy that it is coming in but wonder if it is being hindered by the Taxol or if this is the rate it will grow? Any ideas? I also don't know how to post a photo, can anyone advise?

KCMom: I am sure the Taxol can hinder growth and once you are done you will be amazed at how fast your hair grows!

kcmom - my hair also started growing on the weekly Taxol. Mine continued to grow and I have almost 2 inches of hair (and I was done with chemo Oct 27th. Enjoy the hair growth.

It will be a year on March 1 that I had my last chemo, and I just wanted to share with everyone here who can't wait for their hair to grow or who are frustrated with how it looks right now: I have been getting complements on my hair everytime I go out in public. I haven't had this many complements since I was wearing my wigs, lol! Even my Onc complemented me today. So hang in there, it grows back, and in my case I have better hair now then before.

Any think of doing hair extenstions? Just wondering, clearly I'm not enjoying the 1in of hair I have now and it can't grow back fast enough for me!

Stacy: I thought about it quite extensively but I was told you need 4" of hair to have them and by then, unless you had much longer hair to start with, it didn't seem worth the expense to me. High, expensive maintenance.
