I just found this picture in an older post and this is exactly what I look like,0

Tracie the hair on my head isn't too bad but my eyebrows look like that bird

IowaSue: YES. I am full and thick, but growth rate is pathetic. At almost seven months, it just BARELY looks like a choice instead of collateral damage. I'm ready to get a cut.
Eyebrows and lashes are just so weird, they continue to fall out. WTF?

Rocket- the stuff I use for frizziness if the moroccan oil, so I guess if you are already using it, it doesn't help you. Sorry.
MBJ- I bought the straightener you talked about from Sally's, so it's nice to know when I actually have enough hair to straighten, it will be worth the money I spent.
Tracy- that picture is hilarious. I feel the same way.
Lago- I feel ya on the eyebrows too. I keep saying I look like Andy Rooney. Now if I could just get the hair on my head to catch up I'd be in business.

Yup I'm using the Andy Rooney analogy too. Just wish the lashes would fill in more and grow faster. All and I mean ALL my other hair seems to be growing fairly fast.

Iowasue i am at 15 weeks PFC and i think i have about 1/2 in. too not sure. I am getting some of the longer hairs that never fell out and the back of my neck trimmed tomorrow. I will take pics and add them to my growth chart for you to see. I notice big jumps in the growth in the pictures every three weeks. you should take some pics for your self so you can compare. It helps not get so impatient to see the progress.0

My hair is so gray and wispy like the bird ... I really do look like an old man.... you can see my scalp through my hair it's really wierd.

I've got lots of lovely grey curls, when I look in the mirror all I see is my mother staring back at me .0
-
I still have 2 Taxol left, but my hair has starting to grow, ALL hair, except my eyebrows and eyelashes. My hair is white everywhere, and I really mean WHITE....with some black straws on my head.

InTwoPlaces it starts out white then grows in color. I found the white stuff fell out when the "real" hair came in.
BTW my husband said that I no longer look like I walked out of Auschwitz now that my hair is a bit longer… and yes he continues to pet my head. He says its almost long enough to comb.

Ok I have updated my hair chart. It's a little early because i have my TE surgery next week and wanted to get this documented. I got a haircut today, just cut off the longer pieces that never fell out and shaved the neck area.

Thanks Dominika i am trying to embrace t but i still left the hair salon with a hat on. Well plus it got really cold out today.0

Carrol: You look really cute with short hair! BTW: I went back and forth with my wig right after I started going topless but it was 90 degrees out and I just couldn't stand it anymore-the wigs were too hot. You will have longer hair before you know it!

Great photos Carrol2! You look way better with short hair than I did! I should do a series of photos like that. Hmmm... Lemme see what I can come up with.
InTwoPlaces, I'm right up the road from you in Boulder Creek! Nice to see a neighbor here!

Carrol: That last picture is a very good picture of you. Looks like your hair is thickening up very nicely!0

Hi Chan_Go_Foill
I hadn't noticed you live so close to me, yes it's nice to see a neighbor here!
What a storm we have here today

You look great Carrol!! Very nice coverage for 15 weeks
Here's my most recent photo at 20 weeks. It's hard to see here but it's just recently started to curl. I'm glad since I had curly hair pre-chemo and I'd love to get my old hair back.
And here's the last 20 weeks worth of photos...
Last day of chemo, 5 weeks, 7 weeks, 11 weeks, 15 weeks, 20 weeks

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
MBJ i wll probably wear a hat or bandana on my head for a while until it's hot here too. Hopefully by then I will have more hair. It may start to curl i see some curls in the back.
chan go foil i reccmmend taking pics it helps see the progress rather than looking in the mirror every day trying to see if you can tell.
cc4npg Thanks I notice that the more hair i have the more i smiled in the pics. Everyone tells me not to play poker I cannot bluff. The last row is only 2 weeks later but i still can tell that it is filling in. I worry because my mom and sister have always has super thin see thru hair and mine was thin but never that bad.

I am on ACT and will have my last one next week. I didn't lose all my hair but it looks like a rat's nest! I am hoping it starts growing soon after my last chemo. I have not lost my eyelashes or eyebrows.....but will I since I have one more left?

I'm 14 months PFC and my hair is about 5 inches long (bangs and top/back) but it's super curly and if I leave to air dry it looks shorter.
I was in the US last week (I'm from Canada) and found another John Frieda product that I just had to try - Frizz Ease Straight Fixation Smoothing Creme.
I like this because I just put it on right after the shower, blow dry (heat setting) and I'm good to go.
I'm happy to say that this is really working for me and taming my curls.
I will post some photos tomorrow or my curly vs straight hair.
Now what should I do with all the tried and discarded hair care products that I've bought thorughout this hair journey???

Oh I forgot to add that my hair is definitely coming in MUCH THICKER than pre-BC.
I don't know why some hair comes in curly, straight, thicker or thinner but there doesn't seem to be any consistency among chemo treatments.
It's like a surprise - we all know our hair will thin/fall out to some degree and then we have to wait and see what we get back in the end!

tracie: LOL!!!! I missed your post chemo hair post! That was what my hair looked like right after chemo!!! Thank goodness it doesn't STILL look like this!

I had curly hair when i was a teenager but by the time i was in my 20s it got straighter. it was kind of wavy pre chemo. It was all one length no layers i think if i cut layers it might have curled up a bit. I think it's too short for me to tell what the future holds but you can see the back of my hiar looks like it is curling. It doesn't feel very thick it's super soft like cat lol. I had kind of thin hair pre chemo so would be nice if it got fuller maybe some more volume.
But for now i am rockin the GI Jane.

Carol - It looks like your hair is coming in thick and even. You look great!

Carol and Katherine - you both look great!

well, ive noticed many of you are younger than me, but my hair is def. not going to be the way it was pre chemo.. the top has thinned considerably, the back is doing fine. so, i have a new "look" same one i had in the 60's.. i have headbands wide enough to go to almost the crown of my head, and then, the rest is growing, albeit slowly.
i just found a product from Johne Freida on Amazon, that keeps your hair in its' growth cycle. its a shampoo, and then, has a conditioner. so, i'll letcha know if it works on old lady hair lol im 61 today, but, hey, im not dead yet! so, i want some hair.. on the top of my head, please>>>
also, i got the Joan Rivers New Day stuff. it worked great to hide the shiny bald look on top. but, im afraid it'll block the follicles.. it does have some stuff DBT?? i think to keep it from falling out. doesn't come out, rub off, till ya wash it. which im doing tonight, and way conditioning it. maybe its still too dry.. i look like the birdd pic.. the hair sticks straight up!!{{{{sigh}}}}}}}}}}3jays

The copy and paste will not work for me, neither will the tree.0
