Wow Carrol2 you look so awesome!!!! Your hair is so beautiful !!!

Carrol2, your hair is great. The length of your hair now is not much shorter than I was pre-BC. My hair was short and straight and I always got alot of compliments about it. I can only hope mine grows as fast as yours. The difference in 3 weeks is unbelievable, throw the wig away!

The good5 - your girls are so cute, such a great picture!!
Carrol2 - thanks for the update, I am very encouraged to see how much hair growth you had in just the last three weeks. That gives me hope that maybe I will have enough hair to go topless for my sisters wedding. I'm 17 weeks PFC now and will be 24 PFC by her wedding.

Carrol2, I cannot believe the amount of growth you have had in the past 3 weeks! Honestly, if I saw you out in public I would have NO idea you were just growing hair back....it looks like a very stylish haircut! You HAVE to go out topless from now on, it looks so good!

OK, Carrol2, I have just looked at your pictures for a 3rd time, if I didn't know better, I would not believe how much hair you have. I agree with thegood5, no way do you look like you recently had chemo! You are an overachiever in the hair dept.

I finshed my last chemo on march 30th and it has really started growing...i have maybe 1/8th of an inch but it's exciting! I love my wig though and will wear it for some time.

thegood5 You look great! did your hair actually come in that color? I'm so jealous.
dawn I think we have the same hair dresser. Seriously I get at least one compliment a day. She's right, you can wear your hair short like this.
Carrol Everyone is right. you look like you have a normal haircut. Love the bangs.

Thanks ladies for all the updated pics
Carrol: Awesome hair, can't believe the difference from wk 20 to wk 23! Ditch the wig and rock that hot hairstyleLago:
You have been inspiring me for a while, love the color, and love the hair. I bought a pretty expensive wig too, and wore it for about 45 minutes. Scarves for me now.Cat123: I am about a month behind you, so your progress will be closely monitored! Ha ha.
Christine:
My PFC twin I'm still waiting for anything to grow. My lashes are long gone, and brows continue to thin (surprisingly, though I believe Lago posted hers abandaoned her at 5 wk PFC), but still no hair. I don't want to wait till 6 wks PFC to even get a little! I'm so impatient:)0 -
wow thanks for all the compliments. I thought it seemed like a lot of growth in the past 3 weeks but I thought maybe it was just me. I am not sure what my next move will be with this. I am afraid to cut any of it now. I am sort of trying to go with the bed head look i think.
Maybe after my new foobs are in I can rock this look!!! well at least taht is what "I" see when I look in the mirror in my mind. I can't wait till my hair is this long.

slcst12, I am absolutely hair obcessed. I look at these posts several times or more per day. I think I feel some stuble on my legs and I am thrilled. I hope to have a real sign of hair by memorial day, we are heading to the coast and I will be even happier if I see some hair. I am taking my Biotin. eating well, and thinking good hair thoughts. I am also so impatient. At least time is going faster now that chemo is done. My body is in for a nice suprise this week since there is no chemo coming. Hope you are feeling good post chemo too. I am smiling again!

Carrol2- I don't have hair but my TEs rival that look, maybe better since mine are higher! When I go bald to the beach next week, it will not be obvious that I have breast cancer, as the breast are quite nice. My TEs just rock. I think my spouse will enjoy them more at the beach, when he forgets about the drains and dressing that we started with. LOL

christine that is good to hear that you are feeling good. I was so happy when my body hair came back lol, a sign that it is over and normal is close. Then I shaved it all off lol. My TEs look ok under my clothes not sure how they would be in a suit. It looks pretty good in my tight gym clothes. One side is a little lower though because the cancer side had more tissue removed. PS will ahve to fix that when he does the implants.

Carrol - love your curls :-)

Ladies, you are all looking good. I am still waiting for my bangs also. I bought the Rogain the other day but am scared to use it. I don't want to start using it to only have the hair fall out again. Has anyone used the Rogain and then stopped. Did your hair fall out?

I stopped using rogaine when I started chemo… but of course it did fall out because of the chemo.

Carrol those pics are so encouraging for us. Your hair seems to be growing sooo fast. I cant wait to see some curl in mine...still too short though. I think mine is growing a t a normal pace, just doesnt seem like it when I keep such vigilance over it every day. I need to get a life! LOL

carberry I am glad my pics help ease the wait. I post the pics both to help others and myself. I find when I look in the mirror it seems like the hair is not growing, but when i compare the pics I can see the progress and I know it's only a matter of time. I was so worried it would not grow back at all. I recommend everyone take pics so you can look back and see how far you have come, even if you don't post them. Although we all find it helpful to see someone further down the road so we have something to look forward to. I saw a few pics like this when I was first losing m hair that I found comforting.0

Wow, Carrol, you look fabulous! I am at 14 wks PFC and my hair seems to be growing at the same pace as yours did. You really are rocking the artsy look right now. Thanks for sharing. It gives me hope.
thegood5, Beautiful girls! You're looking good, too. I wish I could get away with the baseball cap but my face is big and I feel like I look like a guy.

Sandy, I doubt that very much! I feel like I look like a guy WITHOUT the hats!
0 -
funny about the hats - I never wore baseball hats before because my hair was so short and I thought it made me look like a guy also! I don't mind my wig, so still wearing that for now.
Shaving my arms and legs regularly now, so I guess that is a good sign, only 1x week though so I know Herceptin is slowing it all down!

ReadingMama...wish Herceptin was slowing down my need to shave my legs! Who would have thought we would ever be happy to shave again?!?

I never wore baseball caps… This friend of a friend (she had DCIS many many years ago) told me that she once wore a baseball cap to a friends house with her hair tucked inside because she hadn't washed it. Her friends thought she had cancer/doing chemo again. She said she never wore a baseball cap unless at a game again.

Carrol, your hair looks great, and it's growing like a weed!!
Lago, lol about the same hair dresser!!! So true!
I haven't had short hair since I was a kid. Carrol, I'm with you, I think I look better with longer hair, but I'll be 50 this year, maybe it's time to ditch the really long hair...not that I have much choice! Mine was well past my shoulders but didn't reach my bra strap.
I did get a new bathing suit, and I have to say I rocked it. It is low cut enough to show off my pretty boobies, but covers the scars on the outsides. Now if I could get my hair as pretty as Halle's I'd be set!!

GuyGirl - Your post is the first I have heard that using Rogaine and then stopping it is related to the hair to falling out. I am using Minoxidil 2x a day which is the Walgreen's version (I think Lago recommended it) and I think it is helping, but hard to say since maybe enough time just passed and my hair has started to grow naturally. But it is still only about 1/16" and I am now 8 weeks out from last chemo. Where did you hear that about the Rogaine? Anyone else have any experience with Rogaine/Minoxidil?
My eyebrows and eyelashes continue to drop off a few each day. Has anyone tried false eyelashes, especially for special occasions?

baf4292 - The directions that came with the box said if you discontinue use the hair would fall out. I purchased the walmart brand.

great pics of pumela!

Wow! everyone is looking great.
Carrol - love your hair! If you like it lighter, looks to me like you have enough that maybe you could be getting some highlights by now?
I wish mine would grown faster but I'm not really thinking the herceptin is making any difference. Mine is coming in really thick and even so I'm thankful for no bald spots. I know several ladies who are 2 and 3 years out and have thin spots in their hair. As mine grows I have been snipping off the fluffy grey ends and there seems to be less of it.

Carrol- forget about Halle Berry's hair! I think I would rather be bald and have her body! Then no one would be looking at my head! Ok, that's not really true- I want nice hair again, but can't I have both??? My hair is doing very well, my motivation to eat right and exercise- not so much! I need to go see a hairdresser and get my hair trimmed up a bit.0

marjie I am not sure what i want to do with the color. I think the blonde helps hide the grey. I had it colored dark brown with a semi permanent 2 weeks ago. They say it lasts 6 weeks. I figure I will see what i can do then.0
