emma C you look great!! why did you cry? because of the loss of those hard inches? I think you will be used to it soon and good riddance chemo curl.
ksmatthews, wow pony tail your hair is so thick and normal looking. dreaming to be like you...
I got the white facial fuzz. Naired it once. shaved it once. Non problem now.

I just white/colorless hair once on the face and now have dark hair on face. Shaved once and may do so again.

oh, no, HVV, you are scaring me! Dark hair on face now?? Is your hair naturally dark? At one time, back in another galaxy, mine was light brown. I've colored it so long, I almost forget. lol. I can handle the white fuzz, but dark would be a shocker for me. Oh well, not the worst thing, compared to all the other side effects, though.

Here's a weird one. I'm only three weeks out from my last AC and I have quite a bit of duck down on my head already. It's longer and finer than the stubble that's been hanging on since the buzz cut. Not sure what to expect on starting Taxol. I'm hoping the duck down hangs on-- it gives me hope my hair plans to come back eventually.
My hair standards have lowered so much. Pre-BC, I felt dissatisfied that my hair "only" reached my tailbone. Now I just want a half inch or so that will allow me to walk around in public without a hat!

Wow, that's great Ann, that's definitely the start. Mine started growing while on taxol so hopefully yours will keep on growing. Yep it is good just to have hair... Any hair.

Ang, I was on herceptin, and my hair grew slowly. I got my dose once every 3 weeks and my hair would grow like crazy the 3rd week. When I was done it really took off.
Thank you Ladies! I can't believe I went back to a short hair style after all of this.

Emma, I love how straight & smooth your hair looks.
Ksmatthews, your pony pic really made me smile today
Ang, im getting herceptin too and have my last one coming up in november. Im hoping it speeds up when im done, and don't have anything to compare it to since I've always had long hair, but do think its growing pretty well even in herceptin. Take a picture every week and you will see progress!0 -
Thanks you all I was super stoked lol!

All the pics are great! Mine is growing, but so slow! I discovered the peach fuzz on my face last week, never had hair on my face before so not sure what to do about it. Will it go away on it's own?

onvacation...many of us got that facial peach fuzz...some used Nair and some of us just shaved it off. It may grow back slowly and you might have to do it a second time. I am 8 months PFC and just did it a second time last week. It was way less than the first time I had it. I hope this is the last time I need to do it! Some that used the Nair got a slight rash but it only lasted a day or so.

hello-
I just noticed the peach fuzz on my face lately even though I was done with Chemo last summer. It has probably been there the whole time but didn't look in the mirror that close! I thought it was age but anyway for those you have it, does the Nair take it away permanently? I am afraid it will grow back and be dark. Seems to really be bad on one side of my face. Has anyone tried the new hair remover called No No? I know it is expensive.
Thanks

Just had the face peach fuzz waxed at a salon this morning. It looks and feels good and I hope the fuzz stays away. My eyebrows are still growing back, but were so unruly that I had to have them waxed into shape too. The right one still has a bit of a hole in the middle that I have to fill in with pencil. Now I just hope my eyebrows and lashes don't fall out again . . . LOL!

My right brow never did grow back entirely...no biggie tho...just glad for pencils!

Do you think the facial peach fuzz is a post chemo thing, or an estrogen-blocker thing?
The little white ends of my new hair is beginning to curl I think, and it appears a a sort of halo all over my head, in certain lights. Wondering if I should trim, sometime, but at just 12 weeks PFC, I cannot bare the thought of losing one millimeter!0 -
KCB - I'm not on estrogen blockers and I have it, so not sure. I am afraid to try anything because i'm afraid it will grow back thicker and darker! At least it is blonde! I guess I will wait to see if it goes away or gets worse!

Eight months PFC, and I just had my first (and second) hair appointment for a trim and color. What an experience! My previously long, blonde, highlighted hair came in completely gray and curly. Even though I'm a grandmother, I couldn't stand looking my age! I felt invisible; I felt like I looked like my own mother.
First, I tried at-home semi-permanent color. Nothing.
I had an appointment with a new stylist Tuesday (my old one disappeared in the year when I had no need of one). I showed her pix of the "old me." She said she'd have to use a darker base than I was used to to fully cover the steel gray in back. It came out really dark, and I was almost in tears. She said she would add highlights but didn't have time that day, so we made an appointment for yesterday. I showed up, to find that she had gotten sick, so they rescheduled me for today.
My hair was too short for foils, so she had to pull out that antique rubber cap. After all that, though, the highlights were barely visible. She said we'd try foil after all, even though it was difficult. Then it still was a little dark, so she combined some stuff with shampoo to lighten me a bit.
Well, after 5 hours in the salon and three visits there, I can now say that I no longer have gray hair. Or dark brown hair. It's still not where I want it, but by the time I go again, it should be longer and easier to use foils.
I never imagined losing our hair and trying to get it back would be so hard!!

onvacation I took a clio razor to my peach fuzz on my face and it has never come back. and what the clio didn't get has fallen out. It was just fine hair like baby hair. The clio does not shave all the way to the skin. You can get one at a local drugstore/walmart.

Wave- my post would read exactly like yours. ......new stylist, showed previous blonde hair color, ended up way too dark (auburn), looked like my mom as well. Today went to the lady that used to do my hair. After a bleach and 2 color treatments it is close to the color, but it may take one more treatment in a couple weeks. Seems we are never going down this road alone----I am right there with ya! We will just ROCK our new color!

Ann, I love how you put it- our standards have really changed. I am almost an inch, and it 's the same mix of dark brown with a few sprinkles of white hairs. I bet I'll wear my wig through new years- but if I HAD to go out without a wig at least i have complete coverage as of right now!
