Bosum- very true ! I told my friend recently  that I stopped waiting to be the 'old' me.  I will just look forward to the new me with a new normal. I know it means new hair, scars and pains but it also means newfound strength and I'm freaking alive!

Lexie--well thank you for saying that. That was very sweet. I've had a very rough day and just broke down in front of my kiddos and I'm just done. Reading that made me smile. Thank you.

Jules_NY, be very patient with the rogain! Give it at least three months of daily use before making a decision on it. Take some pictures along the way because if you have really slow growth it will be easier to compare if you have some pictures.

    JB,

That is so true..... I kept looking in the mirror, to see the old me....I was never going to find her. My outside will never be the same again. I see the new me now,  and am getting to know her and like her....this has helped with the inside me to come back out again... I know what the reality is, but I want to live without fear and worries. I still have a few months of Herceptin to go, but I'm thinking I get that to keep me healthy, not because I am sick.  When It's time for follow up tests, I want to stay positive. (worrying doesn't alter the results)

I need to eat better and exercise more (consistently) that is something to help me, and much easier to do with a positive mind frame.

almost 5 months pfc. Tried my hand at bad ass look and hair today, but don't think I quite got it. Lol. The gel I have just wouldn't hold it up straight. Just a pompadour look with my receding hairline and widows peak.  That's why I've always needed hair on my big forehead! But at least it's hair and getting thicker I think.

Lisa, I remember when my hair was at that stage, I tried a similar look and I didn't like it on me. So what I did after that time was I used a little gel when my hair was wet and I combed the top down and forward, then when it dried, I moved some of the top over to the side. I have a short forehead and square face so I'm trying to show more forehead rather than cover with bangs. Have fun with trying a new hair style each week as your hair gets longer!

Why is it okay to make fun of ourselfs, but when others do we get offended? I told my BF that I felt like Elmer Fudd lol...He said no you remind me of Uncle Fester... WTH???? I got really upset, he said he was joking, (not funny) At the time it was like eewww really that's who you think of when you see me? Well I am over it now, but I believe that if you think it, than say it out loud, then you mean it. Well what do I expect... We both agreed that casper was a little nicer. Ugggg and then to watch all those hair commercials, for thicker more manageable, hair try blah, blah, blah...Anyway, ladies enjoy you Tuesday. Any of you ladies Master Chef fans? If so who do you think is going to win? I think Leslie.

Laura I told my husband that I look like uncle Fester and his said no I look like Gru from Dispicable me  :(

So tired of being bald I realized that I have been bald as an adult 2x now which is for about a year of my 37 years.  Once it grows maybe I won't cut it for a LONG time......   I am 2 weeks PFC and was on taxol weekly and all I have is white fuzz with a lot of stray crazy hair that is growing back curly.

I'm not even a week PFC and I'm examining my head for hair growth. I have the tiniest of fussies all over and then there are a dozen or so longer "hairs".  Reminds me of Little Cindy Loo Who!

Jaimieh You look really healthy and my head looks like yours.

HomeMom I check at least a couple times a day. Like all of a sudden there is this magic that appeared on my head and like there is going to be a bunch of hair. What is that saying? "A watch pot never boils" Well I feel like my head boils several times a day. Who is Cindy Loo who? I guess I will have to look it up.

when my white hair started in come in, I thought it looked like those fiber optic lights I used to buy at spencer gifts. All I needed was to stick a blue lightbulb up my ass!

"Cindy Loo Who, who was not more than two".  Funny what we remember.  My son is 44 and I haven't read the Grinch in years.

JB is back!!! Been missing your humor! LOL! You siad you got a haircut...lets see

I also used to look carefully at my head multiple times a day looking for those fuzzies. THey started around 4-5 wks for me. I remember looking with a mirror at the sides and the back hoping for something. I really thought id never have hair again especially when others were taking about the hair regrowth and showing pictures. But now im doing that and all you girls that just finished will soon too! You really will but you wont really believe it until it happens. I was the same way. Im loving it now, I still get at thrill when i actually wash my hair, not just my head, and think how good it feels to feel hair there. (I get thrilled easily I guess!)

Laura, I know exactly what you mean.  Same thing happened with my husband.  I told him I looked like an orangutan because I had a few orange hairs sticking up, and the next day he sent me a pic of one and said he was thinking of me. WTH!!  My feelings were hurt a bit, but I got over it, but ya it sucks.  Can't wait for full cover.

Here I am, 8 weeks PFC. If you compare it too my avatar you can see how much more gray I am. There are dark hairs coming, so I think I'll probably end up salt and pepper. Its hard to tell from this picture, but the hair is about 1/4-1/2 inch long.

I am half-way thru my CMF treatment. My hair has thinned quite a bit but no one can really notice. My fear is can i go the distance.  I have 5 more treatments left. Will my hair hold or do I get a wig and start wearing it now?

Any advice.  I see lots of hair fall out everyday...

    welcome Coco!

I had a different Chemo regime...I knew I would loose all my hair and just shaved it off when it started to leave me.  I did not wear a wig, I mostly went commando and decorated my head with bling....which I now have turned into my own designs and a business. ( silver linings!)

My best advice is to keep the hair casualties in perspective.  You are in the fight of your life and whatever happens with your hair in the long run is a small price.  Manage it with however you are the most comfortable and confident!  If you can muster up the attitude to have a little fun with a new fashion challenge...do it!

    Best wishes!

So I have to add a few comments to the mix also. Over the past 2 weeks at least 3 people said to me, on 3 different occasions, that I look like a pirate!!! Seriously??????? I wear scarves and have given up on knotting them since my surgery and I just put a scrunchie on the end.  On was even a PT at the cancer center. I'm iver it now but reading these posts made me think of it!

Hi girls.  I had my last chemo March 17.  I used mousse today and here was the outcome.  No make up of any kind, so this is what my brows look like too.
