    My hair also returned very curly. I had tighter curls in the back. My hairdresser colored, trimmed down the back and just a tad bit over the rest. She blow dried opposite, in other words, forward and up. It really helps. Now I do it at home and then use one of those tiny flat irons, then finish with wax blast for spiky look and to smooth down the sides. It looks like a hair style. :) I still miss my long hair, but the fact that it looks like a style helps. :) I'll try and post a pic, if I can figure it out.

    I agree, it doesn't look curly at all. Looks great. I can't wait until mine gets that long

    Puffin, nancybel and Tobycc - you have made my day! I have hope! I start radiation tomorrow, not in a happy state of mind, but your photos changed that. Thank you for sharing. I think you all look GREAT! Linda

    MomtoIrish - I am also 8 months out. While my hair is not curly it did start coming back wavy. I've been cutting the back about every 8 weeks and with every cut the waves are chopped off and hair is getting straighter. My hair is VERY fluffy and Giovanni 2 Chic Keratin and Argan Wax seems to be the only thing that can flatten it. I've tried a dozen pomades and waxes and most still add too much volume. I buy the wax at Whole Foods.

    Jannetanned.......LOL LOL LOL....... THAT POOR BAGEL LADY......LOL LOL LOL. I get TONS of compliments on the new curls, even though i dont like them..........I just had my port removed last Thursday and I feel so much better. I hated that thing.😡

    thank you all. Tobycc I am 8 months post last chemo. It seems like once I trimmed it started growing faster. Hang in there.

    I am 6 months PFC and my hair is maybe a little over an inch - I guess, I can't measure it. It curls over my fingers when I run them through my hair. I tried a temp color this past weekend only on my sides and little on the top front. It just made my gray look muddy/dirty. I guess I needed a darker color. But good news is nothing fell out. I have to get a new hair dresser too because mine had to retire (bad knees). So I haven't gone to the hairdresser to get a trim. I could use one in the back!

    I am dying to go to the hairdresser and a get a cut, color and blowdry

    Jannetanded - I had to laugh at your post! I've done the same thing! The woman at the nursery we bought our Christmas tree from last year complimented me on my "cute pixie." I got a similar compliment from a young girl working at CVS one day as well. BOTH TIMES I went on and on about how I just finished chemo, etc... The looks on their faces were both deer in headlights. I felt so bad, but it all just came spewing out. Part of me wanted them both to know just how much I appreciated the compliment and the other part just felt awkward, like I was hiding something. However, I've decided if I get any more compliments I will just say thank you and leave it at that. :)

    Okay, Toby, if you are brave enough to post yours, I am too.  This is what my son calls my "scared chicken" look.  It is no longer salt and pepper, it is white now!!!!!!

    No matter, LOVE it!!! I got my wig cut today: going shorter as we move forward. Will take a pic at work tomorrow. she gave me this incredible hair colored POWDER you use with a brush: my fear was that the white would show thrugh the wig: it worked!

    You look absolutely fantastic!!!  However, I am done with the wig and the hats and the scarves!!!!  My attorneys call me "curly" now and tell me they are happy with me moving forward to the next step and leaving the wig at home.

    How long does it take for hair to start coming back after chemo? Just finished Feb 5th. Nothing growing yet.

    ThinkingPositive, I'm sure it depends on each person. For me, I could see the beginnings of new growth about 3 weeks or so after finishing chemo.

    thinkpositive, I didn't see any real growth until almost 2 months after last chemo. Since then (1.5 months) I have grown 1 cm or so and have enough coverage that I don't see my scalp anymore. I wish I could just pull it and it grew... Patience, everything with this disease is about patience, which is a new skill for me

    windgirl...patience is a new skill for me too. My hair grows slow to begin with, so I assume that it may take a little longer for me then. Hope not, I am tired of wearing a wig.. but won't complain since it could be worse!!!

    I am tired of my wig, but just not comfortable being bald in public. I'm just a chicken ......I see pictures of so many women looking so wonderful and beautiful. I'll just keep wearing my wigs...they are pretty cute

    I only have one...since I was not working most of the time I never really went anywhere, but now that I am working and wearing it everyday, its starting to look ragged... $550 wig should not start to looked ragged after a few months!!! I am also tired of the style...would like to get a new one to wear until my hair comes in.

    ThinkingPos, - I am almost 6 months pfc, and can just about get away without wearing my wig. My new hair is grey, so short, and barely covers my scalp. However, when I go out with people who dont know my situation and I havent seen in a while, I do still wear the wig.

    I wore scarves and hats a lot during treatment, so my wig is still in pretty good condition, - but you can get a free wig from the American Cancer Society. They have quite a variety of colors and styles, - some even real hair.

    thinkpositive - unfortunately I didn't see growth for about 4 months and started going out without my wig after about 7 months - it was very short but I had my hairdresser shape it so it looked stylish -at least to me.

    I finished my chemo in January 2013. My hair started growing back in April (just like my onocologist promised!). Once it started growing it started coming in pretty quick - but not curly like most people get. Straighter than prior to chemo!! Be prepared though if you have to take a hormone blocker (I am on Arimidex) because one of the side effects is thinning hair. I've always had fine hair, but when it started growing back it was actually thicker - until I started Arimidex! I now have to deal with sparse hair on the top of my head (like male pattern baldness almost)!!! And I am told I will need to take Arimidex for at least 5 years - if not more!! I just keep my hair short hoping it will look thicker that way. And use a lot of hair spray to keep my bald spots covered. Hate windy days!HA

    Windgirl, I am about at same timeline. Harder for me since I switched from the taxol family in late November to CMF: one more to go: that one just "thins" the hair.

    I ordered a new wig, and had mine cut shorter as you know, as my team at work still does not know. I love the powder she gave me: brush it on, and I have no worries that the salt and pepper is showing through
