Here is my pic five months PFC. It is starting to get thick again, woohoo!
One of my eyebrows is fine, the other is almost totally non-existent. But I hate makeup (and have allergies and sensitivities to many brands) so I just pretend I look 'normal'.
Sending hugs to all;
Octogirl

I'm also about 6 months PFC and my eyebrows have thinned again. Luckily with pencil, no one can tell. My eyelashes never have fully recovered though they're much shorter than they were and sparse. Like someone else mentioned, I use mascara to prove that they're there.

thanks for the hair compliments. Now if I could figure out how to use the styling cream to get my hair to look it did in the photo it would be great.
Yup Dee it did feel better after getting colored. I really missed that. I still catch myself in the mirror and think where is the mouse grey hair. I haven't been brown in 20 years. I had been highlighting my hair blonde for way too long and it's actually nice to be my natural color again.
Wow octo your hair really took off! Looks super thick and wavy.

octogirl...Very jealousYour hair looks great! My eyebrows have not returned, but that may be less depressing then getting them ans losing them again

I am wondering if anyone has noticed their leg hair growth dramatically slowing? I am 8 mos PFC and barely have any leg hair growth. I am hoping my hair on my head is growing faster but it is so curly, it is hard for me to tell.
0 -
Trvler - At nearly 11 weeks PFC, I'm experiencing the opposite! Leg hair is much thinner and softer than it was before, but it's growing faster than the hair on my head!

My last chemo was 2/29 . The hair on my head is coming in very slowly, peach fuzz. Any tips out there to make it grow faster?
0 -
Allison, I've started tracking leg hair and found it varies a lot from week to week! But the last few weeks it's been coming in faster, even though last week was a Herceptin week. I'm hoping it means good things for head hair.
Aliciavg, hang in there! I felt that nothing much happened the first 6 weeks after the last chemo. Then it started filling in. I know it sounds crazy, but if you can ration yourself to one good look a week, that helps a bit. Otherwise--at least for me--it's checking every hour or so.

hi ladies!
I've been following this thread for over a year. I am 11 months pfc and today was the first day I have loved my hair since I lost it to chemo. I had almost waist length hair my entire life and I have had many days of tears, wishing it was back. Now, I am so happy to have enough that I can pin it back in clips on the sides. It actually is growing on me!(haha pun intended). I never post pictures(I don't even have a Facebook account) but I figured this might give someone hope that has just started their journey.

Ashley!!!!! You are ADORABLE!! I love your hair, it looks super cute! My hair MIGHT look about that length, but I simply can't get the kink out of it. Did you have to go through a lot to get it to look like that? --Lorie

Lorie!
I saw your pics too and you look gorgeous!!! Really, really beautiful!!
I don't do anything to it. But I still have to wear two hair clips to pin it back or wear a headband. I definitely can't go without a hair accessory yet. I did buy a mini flat iron but haven't tried it yet. Have you gotten one of those?

Raleighgirl, your hair is beautiful and gives me hope. I'm 7 months pic and still look like a wayward toddler. (The hair, I mean.)
Did you trim it in the back? And are you still on herceptin
0 -
I have cut it only in the back twice. It was hard to pull the trigger, but I am so glad I did. It looks like a short bob now that I kept the back short. I finished herceptin at the end of December. My hair has transformed so much in the last two months! You will see the same thing happen

that makes sense. I am starting to think a trim just in the back would be a good idea

Very cute Raleigh...
Here you go most recent photos of the curls..

DevineMrsM....after having thin eyebrows most of my life I would love some definiation to my face. Seems kind of silly since I am older than most of you but after trying to "put my face on" the other night to go to a school recital I will be checking on it. The nurse my DD knows had it done close to were we live for 250. dollars. Other places ( up in the Woodlands) charges a lot more. Wishing I had my eyelashes back but after 6 yrs. it doesn't look like it will happen......only about 2/3 of what I use to have. Oh well, that's life in this wonderful journey we are all taking.
Been warm again today but breezy. Suppose to rain tonight & tomorrow. Hope you all have a great weekend.

RainnyC - thanks for your comment. It's nice to know I'm not alone going through this process, but of course I hate that everyone has cancer!
Nutmeg - hang in there! How many Taxols have you had? Are you going to have A/C too? You look so young. I hate that you have to go through this!
I started using OPI Nail Envy on my fingernails and it helped a lot. They get really long now and I even have to file them down. It's expensive, but I went through cancer and deserve a splurge.
I've found out that winged eyeliner makes me look more awake. I don't know if it's just my age or that cancer has aged me, but I look so tired all the time (and I am!)

Hi! This is about 3 months. I used to have curly hair, now it is growing back straight! And, I have NO idea what color this is supposed to be?! It used to be red! I am thinking about lightening it up to more of a blonde because what I have now is just weird. My dd said it looks like I have light brown hair that someone painted with white tempra...

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their hair being very thin after chemo. I finished chemo August 2014., my hair used to be very thick. I know have a lot of spots that are very thin. Should expect that it may fill in or just accept that fact that I may need to go back to a wig. It seems to slowly be getting worse.

mrmmon, - I, too, have very thin hair now. I have been able to go without a wig, but i am not happy at all with how I look. I have had several surgical procedures since finishing chemo, and wonder if that has caused further thinning. I am curious what chemo regime you had?

10 and 1/2 months after final chemo! Finished Herceptin a month and a half ago

mrnmom2000....I was told by a patient that had already been through tx that she got the opposite of what she had previously.....I didn't want different. Sure enough after three different phases I ended up with the opposite.....thin, straight as a stick and now falling out again after being on Tamo & being in the 6th yr. I think I will just have the stylist cut this hair that is down to my shoulders into a pixie. Don't know what else to do.

anotherNYCgirl, anesthesia can cause hair to thin, so the multiple surgeries may be the culprit(s). My hair was very thick, coarse and curly/wavy before chemo. Now that it's growing, the color is the same, but the texture is much finer.

I think it makes a difference as to what chemo regime you were on as well. I am almost 10 weeks past chemo and although I have growth it is not completely covering my scalp yet. I get nervous when I read the permanent hair loss stories for women who got Taxotere. I know that my hair is coming back but I hope it doesn't end up so thin that I can't ditch the wig.

I am having the same issue, with the hair on my legs growing faster than the hair on my head.. any suggestions? ONC says I can not take anything that has Soy or Estrogen in it.
Last chemo was 2/29 so I am 7 weeks out.

PurpleMinion: When I saw your photo, I thought, "that's my hair!" Mine isn't as long, but the color (or lack thereof) is very much the same. Prior to chemo, I was medium blonde with some grey...now it's all kind of mousy greyish/brownish with white splashed on top!
I'm actually thinking about what to do with color and am leaning toward just having it colored lighter. I'm going to get a stylist's opinion on that in terms of upkeep, etc. My husband keep encouraging me to do something funky like magenta pink, and I'm considering that, too....

MDW, I am thinking along similar lines, either lighter or crazy... This "whatever" is just not cutting it (pun intended)!
