Reaching Out In Courage
It takes great courage to heal, Lord, great
energy to each out from this darkness and touch
the hem of your garment and ask for healing.
Despite today's valley of shadow and sickness, I
know you, Shepherd of my soul, will continue to
restore me as I move through treatment to the
safe meadow of wellness,

Genia, prayers, gentle hugs, sweet kisses, sunshine and flowers swaying gently in a warm healing breeze. I pray for quick, easy, uneventful recovery. May you find support, comfort and strength from God and your sisters in prayer.
Sweet dreams to all, Elaine

I'm doin better today. I had the drains taken out yesterday......feels much better now. They only took one breast and I'm very glad they did. When they sent my old port that caused me so much trouble to the lab to have it cultured....the report came back with it having bacteria around it. GLAD it's gone.
He couldn't get another one in my chest.....my veins are weird and it kept wanting to thread up in my neck. He also said where my other one was.....was very dangerous and I could have had a blood clot very easily! Thank God he watches out for us!!!!
There were still cancer cells in my breast and in 5 lymph nodes.....so not sure what that means or what's gonna happen next. Either radiation or more chemo......
Hugs Debbie and JO....hope you are both doin ok.
How are you doin Elaine?

The story of 4 Boyfriends
By MangeshOnce upon a time there was a girl who had four boyfriends.
She loved the fourth boyfriend the most and adorned him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but the best.
She also loved the third boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another.She also loved her second boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever this girl faced a problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the difficult times.
The girl's first boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him!
One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, ‘I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.'
Thus, she asked the fourth boyfriend, ‘I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'
‘No way!', replied the fourth boyfriend, and he walked away without another word.
His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart
The sad girl then asked the third boyfriend, ‘I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'
‘No!', replied the third boyfriend. ‘Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to marry someone else!'
Her heart sank and turned cold.
She then asked the second boyfriend, ‘I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?'
‘I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!', replied the second boyfriend. ‘At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.'
His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated.
Then a voice called out: ‘I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go.'
The girl looked up, and there was her first boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect.
Greatly grieved, the girl said, ‘I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!'
In truth, you have four boyfriends in your lives:
Your fourth boyfriend is your body. No matter how much time and effort you lavish in making it look good, it will leave you when you die.
Your third boyfriend is your possessions, status and wealth.When you die, it will all go to others.
Your second boyfriend is your family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for you, the furthest they can stay by you is up to the grave.
And your first boyfriend is your spirit. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world.
However, your spirit is the only thing that will follow you where ever you go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of you that will follow you to the throne of God and continue with you throughout Eternity .
Thought for the day : Remember, when the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray0 -
Hi Genia, Stay strong and know you have alot of wonderful friends praying for you.
I have been having tests and I dont know anything yet. I know how sometime we feel

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give yo you;
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Praise our God, O people,
Let the sound of his praise be heard;
He has preserved our lives
And kept our feet from slipping.
For You, O Lord, tested us;
You refined us like silver. Psalm 66: 8-10 (NIV)
Life is a walk, Each day we take steps.
Tomorrow is determined by the steps we take today.

Dear Genia, i have found many such "angels" on my journey with this illness. it has caused me to believe this illness is secondary to my journey with God. i have learned so much thru prayer, and His Word. One of my favorite's has always been Romans 8:28 "And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to His purpose" And I can honestly say the blessings have far outweighed the bad times. What do you guys think? Has it been that way for you too?

My MIL commented to me last Sunday about my attitude. I told her that my attitude would not be possible without the Grace of God. My natural self would be curled up in a corner, rocking and sucking my thumb. I don't remember the exact words, but there is a song that says something about I know not who holds something, but I know who hold my soul.

Oh God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismay, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous
right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Help them to remember that they are never alone. Help
Genia, Springtime, EWB, Jane, SusieQue and all the other wonderful
people here that need your loving touch. Help them to see the light at

The will to live is the necessary factor in the healing equation.
Father, replace all of my pessimism with optimism, fearfulness
with hopefulness. As Jesus healed the man with the withered
hand, Heal my withered attitude and fill me with hope, as well
as a desire to meet You in the midst of my pain and worry.
In Jesus name I pray. AMEN

Count it all joy when you fall into various trails,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces
patience. But let patience have its perfect work,
that you may be prefect and complete, lacking
nothing. James 1:2-4

be of good courage,
And He shall stregthen

I just found this thread, and wish I had found it earlier!!!! It is such an uplifting thing to read and to know that God hears us when we pray, no matter what is on our hearts. I started blogging about 18 months ago, but really didn't know the purpose of it all or which direction I wanted that blog to go. But when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I decided I would share the journey with whoever wanted to come along. It has been amazing to see how many people joined hands with me and have faithfully prayed every day. Believe me, those prayers have been answered in so many ways, and I could not have done it without those prayer partners. And now that I have found this discussion board and all of you, I feel blessed way over the top! Thank you, Lord!

Cora, Welcome, May the Prayers and friendship we share help you threw your journey.
Dear Lord, Help me fight this disease, Help me to take charge of my medical care and
treatment. Give me a positive, fighting spirit. Help me to say no when it is appropriate,
remembering always to treat everyone, including the medical staff attending me, with the
same dignity and repect that I expect of them. Guard me from the temptation to resign to
passivity, negativity,or anxiety. Sourround me with people who care about me and who will
pick me up if I fall. In Jesus name, I pray AMEN
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18:28
