Genia- so good to see you! How are you doing? How are you feeling? You are often in my thoughts, praying everything is going well and the sun is out today.

So glad you're doing better! Sounds like things are moving along, I'll be with you on Wednesday morning. Is the Herceptain an infusion or injection? Onc is saving that for sometime down the road, since I as still responding well with the Lupron and Femara.

Will probably have scans sometime this summer to see how everythings going, but on physical exam everything is still stable. As always se's of fatigue and joint/muscle/bone pain are the issue. Having retired (almost a yr ago) has really helped.

Hope you had a good Easter! Hugs,

    Elaine

Elaine....the Herceptin is an infusion.  The first one is longer.....the loading dose is what they call it.  Then from that one on....it will be only 30 mins.  So that's not bad......

Dreading the radiation.....my skin is so sensitive anyway.  BUT it has to be done.....so I might as well suck it up.

    hugsssss

I already know I'm wierd, so don't state the obvious, but, does anybody else wonder whether we will be raptured first or die naturally?  The more the world becomes unstable, the more I think the rapture is immenent.

Lord, You can fill that empty place in the canyon of sorrow

that has been left in my heart. You are the one constant

in my life that can never be lost to me. All else is temporary

and changing. I know You are a good God and Your love for

me is endless. Help me to cast all my burdens on You and

let You carry them. Even though there are times when it feels

I can't live through the pain, I know You will sustain me. Enable

me to get beyond it. I realize life must go on, and I ask You to

help me take the next step I need to take today. Even though

it's hard to imagine life without the pain I feel, with You all things

are possible. Your healing power can restore anything---even a

broken heart. Walk with me Lord, I trust You to take my hand

and lead me, Until I can feel Your light on my face and joy in my

    heart once again. AMEN

Genia,  Thank you for sharing your story.  It's just what I needed to hear before heading to work.  I've been dealing with a bit of depression the last few days and your story really inspired me.  I'm in Duluth, MInnesota with 5 cm tumor and 1 lymph node infected.  It seems some days I can be so positive and other days I really struggle.  I belive in the power of God and prayer and I know He is watching over all of us!

Ok, help me out here- what is rapture?

Genia- I'll be there holding your hand during rads!  I have not had rads, but I know I've read from some of these ladies ways to help care for skin. Please be sure to ask doc, or more likely the nurses for suggestions.

Wow, lots of stuff I have never heard of...when Jesus comes and collects those who have been saved, spirits taken to heavan? and others?    What happens when Jesus comes again with the saints?  who are the saints, what do they do and why are they coming? What is the second coming...of what...Jesus?

I've got to go pull some of the books off the shelf and start reading!

I know about the Rapture Elaine....but it's very hard to explain to anyone else.  I think JO explained it very well.  The MAIN thing to remember is to be where we should be with God.  If our hearts are right....we won't be left behind and can live with God for eternity!!!

The "Rapture" is when God comes and gets all of his children and takes them to heaven.  The sinners will be left behind to face "tribulation"......all I know is it will be a horrible thing for those left behind.....and I don't want to be here!

Elaine....you can read the Bible online.  I love to read the NIV version....it's much easier to understand.  Read the book of Revelation......LOTS there to answer some of your questions!

    hugs and love.....

I, too, believe we are seeing signs written about in the Bible that point to the rapture, the second coming and the tribulation.  The Bible says that Jesus with come in a "twinkling of an eye," to come and take His believers to Heaven with Him.  His believers will not endure the tribulation.  I don't believe the statisticians that predict an exact "time" this will happen, be it 2010 or 2012.  Only the Father, Son and Holy Spirit know the appointed time.

Thank you for your kind words Jo, I have always had a strong faith & belief in God. I have not spent a lot of time with the bible, really reading and understanding--that is new to me. While I have often prayed over the years, since the dx and my retirement, I am spending more time in prayer/meditation/quiet time with God.

If you don't mind my asking (its ok if you don't want to answer) have you always had such a good understanding and grasp of the bible?

Do you have any suggestions of references and books to help? Some times, many times, I need help understanding what is being said, how to interprete or understand passages (sometimes the words themselves! love dictionaries). Are there companion books that I can read along with my bible?  Sorry for so many questions, but I don't have a good bible store nearby.

BTW- on a personal note- how are you doing?

Thinking of you Debbie......let us know how things are going sweetie!

JO....thank you for such a simple explanation of Revelation.  I personally think it is one of the hardest books to understand because so much of it is symbolic of things that are happening in our world today!!!  I also agree that NO MAN knows the exact date of His return.  I just want to be ready when it does happen.....LOTS of people I wanna see that have gone on to be with God.  My parents....for example.

I have always said to people who said they didn't believe in God.......I would rather believe and be WRONG....than to not believe and go to hell!!!  I have seen God's hand in my life so many times that there is NO WAY I couldn't believe He existed.  And I can't imagine going through everything I have been through without knowing God was walking along with me.....and half the time CARRYING me.......because I was too sick to walk alone!

Elaine....if I'm  not mistaken.....on that website that I posted the link to.....there are also study guides on there.  I'm not sure without looking...but I thought I saw them there.

I hope everyone has a very nice day........

    love and hugs to all

    Hey Beverly......love ya sweetie!!!

I found this on a website I was reading on.  Somehow.....I always FIND things that I need to read and helps me through whatever I'm dealing with.......that day.  Today....this is it!

When you've walked through the valley of the shadow of death

When you thought the worst was over and the worst is what was left

Some things he can't explain now, but by and by he will

Look up through the pain now, you will find him Deeper Still

Deeper still you will find him, deeper still than before

Deeper still goes the anchor, deeper still the ocean floor

Deeper still he has taught you, deeper still there is to go

Deeper still is the Savior, deeper still than we know.

    Hi everyone.

JO - you are a wonder and asset to all of us.  This is a ministry from you to us.  Thanks so much.

EWB, Genia, Springtime, Footprintsangel, and others - here is a link that might help.  You can read different versions of the Bible here and search for passages as well:

    http://www.biblegateway.com/

Also, for a daily reading schedule, try here:

    http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/index.php/today

Footprintsangel - please let us know how you made out.  Prayers are continuing.

EWB, I had also mentioned awhile back the Life Application Study Bible.  It's easy to understand and at the bottom of each page (not the online one) there are further explanations of many of the verses.  I have found that to be extremely helpful for a quick reference.  There are additional resources for clarifying passages but it's nice to have them readily available on each page.

Here's an online Christian Bookstore: www.Christianbook.com

    Blessings to all.

Hi Sisters in Christ, I had a long day and the cancer dr was not all there.

He told me about the five nodes on one side of my thyroid looked good and

the others side had alittle and then stopped, and started to listen to my chest

Deep breath he said and then said deep breath without the noise, The noise is my

asthma and thyroids swollen! Then the Dr told me he didn't get all the test back,

Now about the swelling all over my body, I have to stop drinking water, I am drinking

too much and no salt. I don't have salt. I looked into seeing the other dr after the 2 week

check. But I am so sore and tired, Genie and Friends thanks for caring, What would you do

I do have the new Clinics name. Thanks for caring, God loves you and so do I.
