I snore, too.  But, I'm having a sleep study on the 11th, so hopefully by the time of the cruise, I won't be snoring anymore.

    Hey chicas!

The cruise sounds like lots o' fun, but I'm unable to make it... finances, yanno. *boo!! hiss!!*

I'm scheduled for a bone scan on Monday because of some serious pain I've been having in my shoulder, my pelvis (thought it was my hips, but it's not), and my lower back. I'm also back on blood pressure meds because I'm fluctuating too much between normal and HBP, and I've also got a new prescription for Ambien, because I'm not sleeping through the night.

My onc is thinking that the bone pain isn't mets, but arthritis or possibly bursitis. I joked with her about which would be worse, mets or arthritis (seeing as neither will kill me), and she chuckled and said... "tough call". Both diminish quality of life, and both hurt like heck. My dad's had RA since he was 39, and I've seen the pain he's gone through, ankles and elbows fusing together on their own, dual knee replacements...etc. No thank you!  I'll keep you posted.

Question for everyone: For those of you who are ER/PR+, have you avoided eating soy and soy products?

I haven't. Eating soy products has been a part of my life for a long time, and I just recently started eating it again. I really don't think that my eating a BocaBurger once a week is gonna jumpstart another episode of breast cancer. I'm still taking Aromasin. I don't have any pink bits anymore. Personally, I think that I'm ok having a little soy.

Weigh in on this, would you please?

Thanks, girls... I love you ALL...

    Robin

I saw my Oncologist today.....he's leaving.....waaah!  Two new ones to replace him.  I am staying on the Aromasin, but he gave me Lyrica and Cymbalta.  So I'll see how this works....just tired of trying new drugs.  Then again.......I'm tired of hurting too!  Another Walmart trip yesterday to get my dog some dog food.  I got a scooter......I knew I couldn't walk around without hurting again.

That's about it.......4 in the morning and here I am.  Although I did sleep last night from about 6:30 until about 2 this morning.  That's more sleep than I have been getting!

Yaay for the ear plugs.....I think you both will need them.  I can't wait for this cruise!!!!  Did you hear that Jane?????  hehe

    love you guys

Oooops Robin, didn't see your post.  It was on the next page.  I pay NO attention to eating soy or not eating soy.  I did for a while....then realized most everything I like to eat has soy in it!!!   I read recently the body breaks down the soy differently in foods......so I dunno.  I think my chances of having a recurrence because of being overweight is more likely than eating the soy products......just my opinion.  My sons have wii fit........I think I'm gonna try to start doing it........if my stupid bones will hold out!!!

He told me yesterday that exercise would help the pain.......I just looked at him and laughed.  How in the HECK do you exercise when it hurts to even WALK?????   He couldn't answer that question.......just told me to do what I could.  Ooookkkkkk......I DO!!!  lol

Robin - I think it's more important to avoid supplements with soy rather than food. I can't remember if I read that or was told that...chemo brain, of course!

Genia - I have the same problem. Exercise is supposed to strengthen my heart but it makes my skin sting, so I don't exercise. :(

I don't know what they think we are supposed to do.  I can BARELY make it up my stairs to the bathroom.  I have a porta potty that I use downstairs.....unless I have to........well you know!!!  lol

I can't get my Lyrica until I meet my spend down.  So I guess I'll just suffer with it until next week.

Genia - does your doc have any samples he can give you until next week?  Did you talk about a proph mast on the other side?  I know you were considering it.

I stopped adding soy to meals, but then I read somewhere where eating soy actually helps prevent breast cancer.  Go figure!  I remember my onc saying everything in moderation.  Soy probably meets that criteria as well.

I entered to win the cruise, so maybe if I'm lucky I'll still be able to go (smile)!

Here's a link to one article that soy helps prevent reoccurance.  There are lots of others if you google :)

I asked my onc and the doctor of the alternative medicine team about eating soy, and they both said that the reason that we are supposed to avoid soy if we're ER+ is that we weren't (for the most part) raised eating soy foods like tofu and such, like the asian population is. Made sense to me, but I still eat soy burgers. Not every day, but I LIKE my black bean burgers from Morningstar Farms! LOL

Genia...I'd also be asking for samples...sometimes those oncs get so busy dianosing that they forget that they've GOT the samples! :)

I eat a little soy, but not boca burgers or any concentrated soy protein. I do drink a LOT of green and white tea - jane, I thought this was good for preventing cancer. (According to book "Anti-Cancer, A New Way of Life).

I was once on a cruise and some in our party did a three person room, and it was fun. They will drop down from the ceiling another bed, so there will be a bunk on one side! You would have fun! I would look into that! Then you'll all be together!

I will call and ask about a three person room after the drawing for the free cruise, just in case one of you wins that wasn't planning on going otherwise... crossing fingers and toes Laughing

    Thank you Robin!

Chris, I got your Christmas card and letter, very nice! I am amazed your DH does the letter! How nice! In our house, it is my task! :)

Genia, how are you doing. So when you saw the ONC, he decided your bone/joint pain may be managable with other meds, and still wants you to stay on the AI? What did he say about half dose (10mg) of Tamoxifen?

    Hi Girls,

I have been busy with the move and working so haven't been on for a few days. It sounds like you girls are going to have a wonderful time on the cruise, how exciting.

Sorry if a few of the Christmas cards came late, funny how they were all posted at the same time and there are two or even three weeks between the delivery date.  I quite like to get things late as you are not expecting them and it is a nice suprise.

I had a lovely afternoon yesterday, we got invited to go out on boat and drink champagne, have dinner and watch some fireworks from the sea. We went to a couple of islands very close to Singapore and were back in time for my husband to catch a flight to Holland last night.  What al lovely way to leave singapore. We have two weeks left in the house before the packers arrive.  I am getting pretty excited now.

I only eat a tiny bit of tofu if I am out at a dinner, I don't buy any and do generally avoid it.

    Take care girls

    Evening  girls,

Sounds like fun is   coming soon for our girls...cruises and more fun for us. We deserve it.  I wish I could  hang with ya but I will vicariously, so I'm cool.

I haven't been over for a while but  If you check out FB, FV and other fun sites I'm there

I'm haivng a really bad  flare of Fibromyalgia and   lupus  arthritis  these past 2.5 months and it's just gettng better this last week. It's  been a  hella mess, which is awfully demoralizing.

Genia, I wonder if you have Fibroymyalgia. I haven't slept for  a while due to my Fibromyalgia not to mention this flare which reminds me why I can and will refuse all the the most life giving therapeutic modalities. I wish I could've seen that doctor's face when you confronted him with reality. Hoping you all have a great time on the cruise and I'm sure  you will. Robin you're wonderful; I'm really glad  you're my friend. Chris... glad your move is coming soon ...hope we can play more often on FV:)

    love to all,

off  to bed and FB x 2:lol:lol

I had a dream Saturday night that my husband left me for an old girlfriend with big boobs.  Funny thing is...we've been married 26 years.  I'm not sure any of his old girlfriends would still be interested.  Also, the woman in the dream was not either of his old girlfriends and our kids were little.

Jane - Did you tell your hubby about your dream? I dreamt last night that I was lving in a dorm and I haven't lived in one for 32 years! Maybe the cruise caused that dream! lol

Mina - Hope you feel better soon!
