Stop Smoking Support Thread

Janzin, I am glad you liked the idea. That way people might understand why we are laying down and no one will be offended by us "playing dead"......especially since we have cancer. Who knows, so many cancers have "walks" to raise money, maybe we can just have people show their support by "laying down" and sending the photos to our web page!! We could organize nationwide LAY DOWN FOR BREAST CANCER events....heehee.....at 3:00 eastern time on October 5 (I just made it up) people should LAY DOWN to show there support for BC. Wouldn't that be great????!?!?!?!

Hey ladies...just sending love and support! I found some results, and all they could figure out was it IS either a bone tumor or tissue tumor, they just don't know which. I go Friday for a CT scan with dye, and then hopefully can get a biopsy done! But either way, I will never leave this site, I have been inspired more in ONE week than I have in my whole LIFE.
Much Love To All!!!!!!

HI Fifish, that just gave me a funny vision, lol. Can you imagine when people at 3:00 just stoped what they were doing and lie down. Those who don't know about it would be a little confused. But a date and time would be fun!!!!
I did have a hard time figuring out how to put it because some may not understand our sense of humor so I think it is brillant idea. Even without cancer they may take it wrong. But we will talk about how this came about on TV because it would hit the public harder as the outrageuos spreads like wildfire. I am hoping that more will come to our web site and continue donating to post their dead/lie down picture.
I will take pictures of those super stars at the event and have a field Celebrity and write their names in. Hopefuly famous people will come join in. I can set up a search feature in the web site by using fields to search by such as city, state, country, celebrity, family, etc. If you think of any good field, let me know. I am hoping this will get large enough that you amy want to seach through the pictures by categories or ID number, etc, or the default would be by date.
Annette and I are also going to contact the president. Why not... it doesn't hurt to ask him to join in. Also film it so we could put it on youtube to help advertise our cause, plus I'll post the video on our web site. Along with the newspaper and radio, can't think of any others but there must be more ways to get this out there. I think we should have our pictures up though since we were the originals. Hmmmmm..... Must do some SEO to get the site noticed. Maybe we can do other events too down the road once they know us, such as half time go down to the football field, lol. At the academy awards. I would have more fun though if we had to sneak, that's the kid in me, lol.
Have to get Butterfly to come lay down with us. Our youngest BC member, BC can hit any time. Hope you scan turns out okay Butterfly. Glad we can be here for you. Wishing you well!!
Well keep it coming, your ideas are great and we want to go BIG!0 -
Janzin, Thank You for all you've done and your flood of ideas and enrgy. I wish I had long distance so I could help you with phone calls and what not but any computer stuff I can do, please let me know. I can write a dmaned good email....lol. and yes, I use spellcheck everywhere but on this site.
The one and only idea I had for the site was for the front page, post a few picks of mastectomy scars to chase off the pervs...but the dead pics woukdbe just as good. I can't think of many who would be offended by our unique fundraising schtik.
xoxo to all

Hi All! I just want to let everyone know 'I GOT THE JOB!!!!" to start after surgery whenever I am feeling up to it, for as long as I can on an hourly basis until I am comfortable to come in full time. All employees are on board and willing to work with me through TX's. I am in orbit right now since a huge weight has been lifted knowing I will be bringing in income again. I have to run, bible study tonight and lots to be thankful for...
BIG HUGS!!!!

O2bhealthy, that is wonderful news!! You will do great both at the new job and going through treatment. It sounds like a wonderful company.
Butterfly, good luck with your tests. Please know you will get all the support you need here. We are all pulling for you and wishing you the best.
Nancy, Pat, Susan--I am starting to get worried. I understand though that you must be so very tired. I hope you are well.
Janzin--this is getting fun! Great ideas. I like the idea of the youtube video along with a link to our BCbuttfondlers page. Who knows, maybe we are really on to something. Komen for the Cure is a WONDERFUL organization, but maybe it is time for another group to join in. I will post the webpage all over my facebook page, that, like youtube, spreads like wildfire! I think we might want to eventually think about teeshirts, tank tops and hats that say "lay down for the cure" or "lay down for boobies"....heehee.....they can be sold on the web page. Man, I sure wish we lived closer, we could really get some serious work done and it would keep us busy.
Hugs to all. I am off to mow the lawn (ugh). I HATE mowing the lawn. It takes me almost 3 hours and I use a walk mower, not a rider. My dh wanted to buy a rider while I was going through radiation but I needed to prove to myself that I could still do it. Well, guess what, I proved it and now I am tired, bring on the RIDER! heehee

Hi Ladies, hope all of you are doing well. My anti- depressants have kicked in but the projects have really lifted my mood. I have been taking soy bean supplements and I think it has been helping the hot flashes, hard to tell though. Trying to build strength for the quit smoking on July 1st, have to do it this time!!!!
Lursa, thanks for your support. I will definitely take you up on your help. I am not a very good writer, got a B in English and I work hard for that B. Maybe we need a list of people we could write to for support, well think on that one. That's funny about the scars, our luck we may just get new kinds of pervs at our site, lol. Maybe we will get a Butt Fondlers groupies following us. Hope you are doing well with your recovery!
o2bhealthy, EXCELLENT NEWS!!! Sounds like you have a great team and life is too short not to be with good people! I am happy for you.
Fifish, I am glad you are having fun, me too! Sounds like you have a creative marketing mind. A lot of great ideas come from just thinking of goofy stuff, lol. Perhaps we need to do more events and not just my next tournament and get others involved too. I have the craziness to do just about anything, well.....except for streaking live on TV, lol. I think maybe have a few different types of shirt would be great, the men would definitely buy "Lay down for boobies", that is hilarious!! Variety in shirts will hit different taste and get more shirts out there to spread the word and donate more to BC.
My event coordinator, Annette, had her kids do a dead pic. The adults didn't understand but her youngest hit the floor like lightening. The rest of the kids followed but what cracked me up was after the picture was done, her youngest kept on playing. Dead pics are not suppose to be horrific but just plain silly and meant to bring a smile because it is so off the wall. My first public picture I was really nervous but after doing it, I felt a little more free as it helped to bring out the kid in me. I really look forward to seeing other pictures and their creativeness. They are fun to do and makes you laugh while doing them. Who knows what we will get, maybe a family in a restaurant will plop their face on their mash potatoes, etc. But I hope you can go online and get a smile out of the support and a laugh out of the silly pictures. They are meant to put a smile on our face during our stressful time.
Pantufas, getting worried. Drop in a line and let us know you are okay.
Well off to work!
Best,
Janet0 -
BAHAHAHA!! That kid is hysterical. Hit the floor like lightening, classic! I guess my major in marketing is finally being put to use.....heehee....Here is another shirt for us "I beat breast cancer laying down"....but I am still partial to the "lay down for boobies". I would wear that with pride! I can't wait to see all the photos. I want to see someone laying down in front of Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty etc.....especially if they are wearing the shirt...good stuff.
Ok ladies, let's put our heads together and think of all the people we can write. The writer of the group can write up some sort of "form letter" to send out. Lursa, that is a GREAT idea to write and send out an email, hit as many people as possible. I think we should also get Nancy, Pat, Susan to write something since she is so darn funny! Who could say no to someone as witty as her? My first suggestion of a person (celebrity) to send an email to? Ellen DeGeneres, she is so darn goofy, she just might do it! Watcha think?
0 -
Let's not forget Christina Applegate...she is a celeb, a BC survivor AND a smoker. Maybe she could join our BCbuttfondlers group!
0 -
HOLY COW....I JUST got the whole BCbuttfondlers....bc and smokers...WOW.......hahahahahahahahaha, needless to say, lack of food and sleep is REALLY taking it's toll on me!
Anyway, besides that, I am feeling fabulous (mentally), and would SO love to join in on the dead pics! And in any way possible! Momma and I do stained glass, and I was honestly thinking of doing that in my hometown. I am SO proud of each and every one of you, and THANK YOU all SOOOOOOOO much for the fabulous smiles, and love!
Much Love To All!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Fifish, you are awesome! I can see your major in marketing! Great ideas, love them and keep them coming. Guess I will need to create an excel sheet to keep track of everything. Love your people list, excellent!! I am so excited I could almost pee, lol. Guess we need to make a time line on projects to get the best results. I have to get that website up quick, will start working on some ideas now.
I am going through fonts right now, just got only to the e's. I have tons of fonts so if you have one in mind, let me know. After choosing the font I can play with it to make it more original. I think our group is off the wall, serious too so it should reflect in our font and doable for designs. If it is too girlie, some men may not like that, etc. I kinda like number 16 as if you flip it side ways, it looks like a boob or a butt, lol. We can also combine font styles. Let me know what styles you like and I will move forward from there.

Hi Butterfly, you are definitley welcome to join our BC Butt Fondler group. It is open to everyone. Take some dead pics, they are fun and you can get creative with them. Can't wait to see them!
Glad you are feeling good!
Best to all,
Janet0 -
I like 16 and 28. Also, if you want a spreadsheet, I can help with that. You have a LOT on your plate already and Excel is a friend of mine! Let me know.

Hi Fifish, would love to have you on the spreadsheet. By the way, I got one of those self propelled lawn mowers after my hip surgery, darn thing almost took off without me. But it sure was quicker!
Talk to a famous person today, name starts with Jack but I couldn't figure out his voice so I told him I would get a bunch of girls to give him a lap dance if he tells me who he is. He started laughing. Give you a clue, 'Here's Johnny." Will try to talk him into a dead pic, lol. That should be a goodie!
Malleme, MB, REKoz, Nervousknitter, Nobleanna, Sue, Candie, o2bhealthy, Aka, Cleomoon, 2NewBoobs, Webbie, Pantufas, Lursa drop in a line. Got a lot of good things going.

Wow, The Shining was the scariest movie EVER! Too cool. Cast your web over him Janzin.
Just let me know what we need on the spreadsheet and I will set it up, not a problem. Take care to all! It is 5:30 am and I can't sleep, I have been surfing around since 4:00 am!! Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I need better drugs I think...
0 -
No, no sleeping here. I go for the CT scan today, so cross your fingers ladies! We definately need better drugs...I have xanax, ambien, and percocet...and still....nothing. But when I add vodka, I do pass out for a few hours, but it's not real sleep...I wouldn't recomend that combo tho for everyone!
But hell, today's a rainy gloomy day...but my spirits are up! Eventho I cannot get my usual orange soda and soft pretzel from the Amish Market...grrrrrrr (nothing but clear liquids...which by the way the doctor didn't think my response of "O, well I can still have vodka" was funny...I did)
Hope everyone has a GREAT day!
Much Love To All!!!

I like 16 and 18 too!!!
Janzin & flfish: keep those great idea's flowing...the BCButtFonders site is going to be awesome. I wish I was marketing inclined...but I do have a lot of information from my Tobacco Cessation Support Group - I'll start putting tips/ 'good to know' information together. Butterfly137: girl you are a hoot and I am so glad you have joined the BC BF's...I LOL at the vodka and clear liquids, some doc's just have no sense of humor.
Hubby & I are going on a 'couples' weekend retreat, leaving this am and back on Sunday evening. I am not sure if I will have internet access but will try and pop in to check up on everyone.
I start work Monday just a few hours a day to get the feel of the office and help answer phones. I am really looking forward to getting out of the house and doing something that does not revolve around BC.

Hi everyone,
Thank you, I have been reading all your posts, Just having a very down week and the thank God my positives are coming right from you gals.
My tissue expander may have a leak,on the lf, they overfilled it 180cc to see if that helps on Mon. Chemo-tues was just dandy has usual, Then spending my time going from test to test everyday just got back from my Ectograms to see if Herceptin has done any damage.
Emotionally this time I am just not doing good. I must have sent out vibres yesterday cause, my neighbor showed up at my door with coffee cake. than my sister came by right after work. Amazing how some people just know My son came right home from school, thought I might like some help with dinner this time around.
I went to the REikki class, it seemed ok but I was just really down - maybe the gloomy rain is just getting to me.
But you ladies have been keeping me going ...I can't thank you enough.
I find out Mon about my leak and heart hopefully next week will be better. Such a busy month.
Thanks again, I here

Hello ladies...Malleme, I will be praying for you! My spirits were so high before my appt, and now I feel like I am crushed again...The radiation tech for the CT scan overroad my doctors orders, and said that I didn't need to have the ink stuff, because it looked like more of a broken bone than anything. GRRRRRRRRR..so a broken rib would continue to grow, to where there is a visable lump now? And...WHEN DID I BREAK IT? Anyhow, I had to lay there with my arms above my head, which by the way is painful, and it's negative 1000 degrees in there, so I was FREEZING and they want me to hold my breath and stay still! Then the guy decides he wants some more done a little lower, just to "check something out". What the hell does that mean? And why if you are back there reading the f*ing pics then can't you tell me what is going on??????? No, I have to wait for god only knows how long this time before I get these results from the doctors office that never called me back in the first place, who wanted to have the dye injected to make sure this isn't cancerous (or taking any blood flow) because of the severe family history of cancer, deadly cancer at that. I am just frustrated, and ready for what my roommate has now named "The Bethany" (a vodka, mango juice, xanax and percocet cocktail...hahaha) I know I'm only 23, but I know SOMETHING is seriously wrong, and I feel like I just went two steps back...Sorry to be a drag ladies...I'm just venting.
Well, I hope to get some "dead" pics this weekend Then I have to figure out how to post them...hahahhaha THAT may take a few tries But we'll see!
Much Love To All
~Bethany

Bethany, I am so sorry to hear about all the f%$$ ups. How frustrating. I need to try "The Bethany"...I am a BIG fan of the mango cocktails. I usually use rum but I am NOT opposed to the "other white meat"...vodka.
Try to stay busy and focused this weekend while you wait for results. Easy for me to say, right? Good Lord, you are only 23. My thoughts are with you! Let's hope it IS just a broken rib.
Have a great weekend ladies!

Hello Ladies, hung over and have to work tonight at a booth. Weird, didn't even drink that much. But I do smoke less when I feel like this.
Malleme, so good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your TE and that you are down. Maybe I get in a good picture for you tonight to bring a smile. But you are in my heart and I am wishing you well as I know how the blues go, just had one recently. Hang in there it will pass.
Butterfly, sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that. You are not the first to post the I hate waiting for the results thing. It's very stressful. We will send you positive vibes for your results. BC is a horrible roller coaster ride but you hang in there too! Taking dead pics is one way to get a smile out of you. Let me know if you need help posting them.
Fifish, thought you would light up on the mango, lol.
I called Pantufas and she is in the hospital with the pneumonia. I am worried about her and I hope she is doing okay. Time to send her and the rest of you big cyber hugs.
((((((((((HUGS))))))))))
Best,
Janet0 -
OH NO! First Coonie & Now pantufus! Bless her heart!
Janzin, thank you for calling her. I know you're busy but do you think you could keep us posted?
She's been so good to me and I really would like to know how she's doing. I know many of us feel the same.
Thanks!
xoxo

Oh NO! I knew something was wrong when we didn't hear from Pantufus. I have her number, maybe I will give her a call. I don't want to bother her though. Well, off to more construction in my backyard. My dh has decided that he wanted a built in outdoor gill--fireplace---fiasco in our back yard! I have block and concrete EVERYWHERE. Since it is him and our neighbor friends building the thing, once the beers start flowing, the construction seems to stop. Ugh. I am hating all the mud, but I will enjoy sitting outside in front of the fire on New Year's. It can get COLD down here, we sometimes drop into the 40's at night! lol
Janzin, a bloody mary is a great fix for a hangover! Hope you are feeling better.
Butterfly, good luck getting through the waiting, we are pulling for you!
Happy Saturday!

Hello Ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well. Took a day off, which I rarely do. Didn't smoke much as I get too lazy sometimes to go to my smoking room. If we had to hike a mile to smoke that would really help us, lol.
Lursa, Pantufas should be back next week, will call her tomorrow and see if she is back home. You are so kind to think about her. I hope all is well with you.
FIfish, that is funny about the beer and the fireplace. Did you call Pantufas, you are so sweet too. Love the women here! Well keep you informed on the web site progress. Next week should get really busy for me being the week before my event. But I will try to work it. By the way, I found out that famous person was actually an impersonator, looks just like Jack N. Might be fun to have him at the event.
The rest of you ladies, thinking about you and hope you are doing well. Drop in a line and let us know how you are doing.
Hugs,
Janet0 -
I like # 13 because I am old and don't need glasses to read it. Bold and right out there for all to see.

Okay, update time.
I am still 'holding' at 5-7 cigs a day even w/the patch. I gotta break that! Chemo is just around the corner assuming my body doesn't play anymore tricks on me.
Saw my BS on Fri. She pulled my drain which is a relief. That 1 little drain was definatly the most painful part of the whole ordeal. DH was apprehensive because of what happened after the 1st one was pulled (the day b4 I broke the mammory artery and wound up in ER surgery) but BS said that it had nothing to do with that. "Who knows why that happened" she said. She also said she'd just come from the hospital where the ER attending had asked about me. I thought that was sweet.
DH is really great. He's gone to each and every appt. with me and keeps me laughing.. I am so fortunate. After nearly 20 years, you think you know someone....It really makes all the c.r.a.p. we've been thru over the years worthwhile.
I think I'm over my anxt. Nearly dying hit me pretty hard. For about 4 days after getting home from Hospital I was really grumpy and snappy. DH was a gem, undersatnding as it scared the pants off him too. I've never felt that way before so I chalked it up to emotional trauma. Medical personell never noticed as in public I'm always my cheery self.
I have been feeling a bit droopy. I guess WAY back in April when I had my lumpectomy, I developed a staph infection. The antibiotics they gave me stripped my innards of all the good bckteria and I've been beating a path 'tween here and the bathroom for about 6 weeks. It settled down for a bit after my last surgery, but is back with a vengance now. I have my lovely little bottles I need to get samles in and get them in for testing. I guess the cure is another antibiotic. One nice thing is I've lost 18 lbs in the past 8 weeks! Not the preferred methoud but it's nice to fit in those jeans that in March I couldn't get passed my thighs....LOL!
I went shopping with a friend yesterday. Made it 1/2 way thru the first store and had to head for the truck for the remainder of the trip. I chalk that up to being under anesthisia 3x in 6 weeks.
It's been raining here off and on all week. Yesteday was the first day the sun was out all day (sunny days are the norm for CO). It is SSO green and pretty here. We don't get green like this often. The wild flowers are beautiful. I've always noticed them but this year they seem to have a special significance.
I am very relieved. my BFF (we've been best friends since kindergarden) has been having breast symptoms and wouldn't go as she had no insurance. I finally nagged her into going to her health dept. She lives in Houston or I'da drug her in myself. She emailed me yesterday wanting to know what a diagnostic mammo was....poor thing. She is now a member of the waiting game. I pointed her to this site. I hope she comes. I know you Gals have been a life saver for me! or at least my sanity is still somewhat intact.
Sorry about Jack. He's getting up there in years, no? I met a lot of celebs when I was working as a waitress for 12 years at a place in Limon, CO. St. Louis is supposed to be the gateway to the west, but I'm here to tell you that it's treally a little-bitty town about 70 miles E of Denver called Limon. As the saying goes, "You can't go to hell without going thru Limon."
O2B, I'm so glad you got the job! Made my heart happy and restored my faith that there really are a few good employers left out there!.
Butterfly, hang in there and don't be passive about your care! I was and it nearly got me killed!
Pantufas would tell you if she was here.
Hope you get weel SOON pantufas, Sue, Pat, Nancy. I miis ya!
Janzin, your posts are sparkiling again. I'm so happy you're feeling better! I asked my onc for chantix but he said that people who have trouble with clinical depression shouldn't take it....darn it. I still have ha huge bottle of wellbutrin. Once I get back up to snuff, I may try it again but it made me awful sick last time.
Okay....long enough post. Just wanted to update you all.
hoping for a s/e smoke-free, flower smelling Sunday for all the buttfondlers!
xoxo

Whatz up ladies! Not too much is going on with me, just a lot of work this week. I guess since my quit time is getting closer I should think about goals, incentives and get my mindset ready to go. Just posting here is one step in that direction.
I know that there is quite a few of you with days in, let us know how your doing. You help to inspire us!
For the women who aren't feeling well, sending you warm wishes.
Aka, thanks for you thoughts. I thought about the size as I can't see too well either, lol. We will make sure it's readable for sure.
Lursa, looks like your feeling better with your post. Glad to hear from you. Sounds like your recovery has been hard but hang in there, the rest gets easier. I hated that drain too, felt much better getting that out. My right boob still hurts if I lift heavy boxes but that's about it. The skin is thin and right under the muscle so any real movement with my right hand or arm makes that boob move. It just moves to the right. If I tied a fan to my right boob I could easily fan someone off, lol. Co Springs is beautiful! Denver is green too, time for walks before it gets too hot! I used Chantix before and was okay but will keep in eye on it as I suffer more panic attacks and depression comes and goes.
Hope Pantufas is feeling better, she should be coming home this week. Let's welcome her home. Miss you Pantufas!!!!
Miss the rest of you ladies too. Got to work but will reach out later.
Best,
Janet0 -
