Allison,
I don't know about others on the forum, but I had larger implant exchange, nips and areola graft all at the same time. Had them on a Friday late afternoon and was back to work on Monday. I really think that this was a bit soon to get back to work as had some complications, but with no additional time off left due to the 4 surgeries and a vacation (we are on PTO sched. so all of our time be it medical or vacation is out of the same bank) I had no choice. I kind of wish I had waited for the nips after the larger implant exchange due to dropping and fluffing, but I still really like them and they are way better than my real ones were.

Hello ladies!
The 70's will always be looked back upon by me as my favorite time! I also had the Farrah Fawcett hair! My DH recently saw a pic of me back then, and really liked it!:) I loved my earth shoes(why don't they come back in style?) Also the floppy suede hats! (yes, I was brought up by flower parents:), maxi dresses and bare feet) Great memories! My Stevie Nicks haircut was in 1980, and was a mess!!! I loved it!!! Gypsy girls rock!!!
I just adopted a rescue boxer, what a great dog! We are still getting to know eachother, and he has a bad case of separation anxiety, but we're working on it. I didn't expect it to be easy, but he is a great dog.
Went to new PS yesterday and found out she's not in my network:(. I don't know if going a size smaller will be covered anymore by my insurance. Will I be stuck with this if I can't pay to have it redone? I'm going to call my insurance and find out. So far they have been very helpful in every other way.
Chris, the exchange should be easier for you than the MX.
Wish I'd worn the chic shaper during my fills for support.
Jan, haven't seen you for awhile! Hope you're doing fine. Prayers go out to all of you during your healing time.

Many thanks for the info on the Chicshaper - I might get one & take it to PS visit with me for his opinion.
Um, how to say that I was a 70's and 80's chick? 70's was bell bottoms and earth shoes, 80's was big hair, big shoulder pads, and leg warmers! I graduated from college in '84, and Madonna was just becoming popular, so I skipped the whole bustier/lace glove thing. Thanks for the walk down Mammary Lane! xo, E

Grakenmom: Love that walking down "mammary lane" phrase.
Laura and Grakenmom: I'm an 80's girl too. Graduated HS in 82 and college in 86. Love that 80's music too..

Bobbi - Another dog lover here. We got a 5 year old lab mix from the pound 3 years ago! What a love she has been! Though she is our fourth dog, and I have loved them all. I must stay that I have never had a dog quite so attached, I need my dogs! I totally understand how happy you feel!
Hugs to all our sisters recovering and scheduled for surgery!

Laura, I graduated in 1982. My inspiration was Flashdance. Loved the oversized backward sweaters belted and a pair of Leggin's and pumps. Remember the sweathirts cut at the neck and always a tank t-shirt under? This was before the cami's came into fashion! Loved my big hair with my big hoops earrlngs and a can of Aqua Net!

Eh, age is relative
Personally I feel like I am around 20 still (in my head).
Laura, my jaw just about dropped when I saw "feel my husband" -- LOL
Jazzy -- an 80s night? Um, like, as in costumes?
I remember that Flashdance look well: the leggings, leg warmers, big sweaters -- haven't had leggings in 20 years (at least) but still wear the leggings and the sweaters lol. Geez we sure did go through a lot of fashion trends in the 70s and 80s!

Happy Valentine's Day Ladies,
Question, I went to be fitted for a bra yesterday. I was soooo excited, unitl I got there. Are we bound by ugly bras for the rest of our lives, or do we just get to wear a pretty lacy one for special occasions? I was so depressed after I left, I have looked forward to this since I started the exchange, guess I need to chalk this up to one more disappointment.
Oh yeah, I have only mentioned this to Val61, but the sales lady's very first statement, ( through my shirt) "Why is one bigger than the other?" I knew I wasn't seeing things. DH can't see it, but my daughter can. I think DH doesn't want me to have any more surgeries. Oh well, I'm not going through life with one bigger than the other. Oh yeah, I'm suppose to be thankful I have new ones, sure.
I see PS in a week. I guess I'll get some answers then. The one that is larger is the non involved breast, my exchange was on Dec. 23rd, could it still be swollen?
Any answers?
Thanks girls, sure needed to sound off this morning. Don't think there will be any "Valentine " stuff going on here to day.

Estepp! LOL! I thought maybe we were headed for a new subject!
Note to self and suggestion to you, maybe it would be better to plan a big day out in city for more than one week after surgery! We had fun yesterday, play was great, luckily parked across from theater and one block from restaurant, was a bit uncomfortable, but nice to get away for the day, and in the city for something other than medical reasons! Nancy, I am amazed you could go back to work a few days later, sounds like you didn't have a choice which stinks, but nice to be done and happy with results!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone

Hi: Most good bra stores will take a regular bra and alter it for you, so if you can't do wires etc, they will have the seamstress remove the wire and make the bra wearable for you. If you form a relationship with the seamstress she will likely alter bras that you have bought at other stores as well.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!
KEW: could not figure out the feel my husband thing, it did make me laugh and then laugh again when you corrected it.

Navy, I am not sure anyone answered your question about why get the nipples/tattoos. I know for myself I simply want to be able to look in the mirror and feel whole again. That's why insurance pays for these surgeries: so that we can replace what we've lost. I don't expect perfection but right now the foobs just don't feel like breasts. I feel more like I have a Barbie doll chest.
I hope that once I get the nipples and tattoos, I'll be able to claim them more as my own. There was never a question in my mind that I wanted to finish what I started with the reconstruction. When I see the results others have had, it makes me more excited to get it done! March 24th can't get here soon enough.

Laura, best laugh I had today! Remember it's Valentine's Day, so feed and feel your DH! I'm sure the combination would be most appreciated!
Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone! deekaay

Wendy--It wasn't me who was going to feel my husband...currenlty there is no leading man in my life, nor was I going to feel Laura's husband!!! It was Laura who wrote that. I thought it was kind of sweet--'cuz I'd sure be taking the time to feel mine if I had one!
Nancy--Mine are slightly different in size as well. The one that was bigger going into surgery is still a little bigger, although they were both expanded to the same size and have the same size implant.
Well no rain this morning so off with the dog and son for walk in Forest Park, one of Portland's gems.
Hugs--Karen

Karen -- sounds heavenly! Enjoy (And that is so sweet -- about feeling yours if you had one -- right ON).

Hello- new to this thread had first mx and recon- now I will be having the other side done in a few weeks. I have a ???.. I have 600cc in my TE and it is not round, goes under my armpit a bunch, kinda flat on the front, looks lumpy and im worried. Will this change as it stretches? we are going to 800cc. Im not real proud of this right now. Most of the round part is under my arm but flat in front. HELP...cause im fixint o go thru this again, I dont want to look malformed. The PS is very well respected and highly recc. It is normal to look weird until the exchange?

Hi Deb and welcome--Oh yeah it's quite normal for some of us to look weird in TEs. One of mine migrated far to the side during expansion and unfortunately it still has that problem after exchange, but not as bad. Do talk to your PS about it, and insist he fixes it at exchange. Others have beautiful results with perfectly placed implants. Don't know what happened to mine other than that side had radiation.
Okay, Estepp!!! I WILL talk about it. I'm a 60's girl and proud of it. Of course I got to wear all the crazy clothes and do the party stuff during the 70's as well because I was single again by then. And by the time the 80's rolled around I was the very young mother of teenage girls and we all dressed alike, LOL. I taught jazz to a teen group and all of us wore ripped out sweatshirts and not just during class. Tights and leg warmers, too. Fun times. I did hair then and got so sick of doing big Farrah hair.
I just love our new little puppy. She bonded with us in about two minutes. she's going to be a great little dog, already going to the door to go outside and chewing only on her toys---so far.
Happy Valentines everyone. Oh I forgot. I finally bought bras yesterday.Sale on Warners-buy two get one free. The sales lady said to go one size up in band width because with lat flaps there are still some sore places along my sides. Also one size up gives me a larger cup to contain the width of my implants; two of the bras have a built in cookie which fills out the flat front of my foob. I don't have good projection, boo-hoo, but in these bras I look really good in tees and sweaters--and just cause I'm sixty-something doesn't mean I don't want to look good in sweaters!
Gentle hugs to everyone healing.

Bobbi -- a "built in cookie" -- is it chocolate chip?

Nancy....About your issue of one breast being larger than the other: When you say it is larger - is it also firmer - is it sitting higher on the chest wall, or does it just appear to you that you might need an implant adjustment? Just want to make sure you are not seeing capsular contracture on the larger side....

Wow I almost caused a scandal, sorry.

Oh by the way:
DebinTN -- welcome!

Uh, Lilah--I think it's more a coconut macaroon. At least the bra makes me look like a coconut, at least a half coconut on each side. Woohoo, after being a little scrawny A all my life!
