I am so happy for you and DH Deni! And I am even happier that you have become a warrior who will learn from this experience and have a better life in the end, like so many of us here. I will never be able to say I am happy I got bc, but I do believe it saved me from the diabetes that is rampant in my family, and it has brought me so many wonderful new friendships. Someday, we will all get together in our walk for prevention, which I am going to spearhead, if I can ever get this girl to get my website up and running. We have to put an end to all this pink crap everywhere in the name of "awareness" and start educating women to nip it in the buds!

Last week I was walking through my town, and all the stores have all the pink %$& everywhere. I went into one and started ranting about it, and screaming at the manager to tell their company, enough already and could we please make October a beautiful fall month again. The girl said that her Mom was a bc survivor too and felt the same as me. I told her to tell her bosses that they need to speak to survivors and start listening to us. The worst store was one that had all the windows filled with stories"Tell us your BC story". I wanted to throw up! I could not even read any of them. I marched into the the store , trying to find the manager and tell her to get the crap out of her cosmetics and maybe her company could actually help fight bc, but I could not find anyone. I am heading there again on my next walk (if it ever stops raining around here). OOOOh this topic really gets my dander up!

Deni, I wanted to add my cheerleading for your hub's good news! The sun is shining on you both now. When does he get surgery?

    Let us know so we can send the Natural Gurlz healing-vibes-whammo prayers to him while he's in the hospital. No kidding, I'm a serious believer in this. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{8}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

    Sink the Pink! Mention Prevention!!!

Did you just come up with that spring? Wow, it is great! I think we all need that on Tshirts.

For those of you who do not normally check out the iodine thread, I hope you will check it out. I just found a couple of great links that I posted there.

Anom-your photo looks just like the one on my passport. That is why the French always welcome me with open arms. OOH La La!

Fairy,  We should get some snacks and sit on the curb and cheer you on!  I think it's true that if you eat snacks while watching someone exercise you don't gain weight.

Spring, are you a marketing person? That is a great slogan! We need to launch this party.

And, Vivre, thank you for the link:

http://curezone.com/forums/am.asp?i=1506366 That is a great site.

Merilee-the test is part of a complete hormone workout. Mine was done by Genova Labs. I am not sure where to look for the code. Is it the MRN? I have that number on my results sheet.

Yes, I am definitely planning a prevention walk. And no one will have to raise money or anything to join in, just bring their shoes and buy a Tshirt. As soon as I get my site going, this will be one of my major goals. I have been collecting lots of info on prevention, as I am sure you all have to. I am also thinking of having a Women's Wellness Weekend here in Feb. Yes, I know it is cold then, but hey, cold fresh air is good for all you spoiled sun worshipers. I love walking in the Arboretum in winter. It is so beautiful and peaceful. The weekend will include talks about all of my favorites: thermography, BHRT, nutrition, exercise, far infared saunas, chinese medicine, etc. It will be for women who are well, and want to learn how to stay that way as well as survivors who are choosing the path we are on. I am hoping to get a couple of insurance companies to sponsor it so that women can take part for the price of the hotel room. And Miss Springtime can sell her TShirts!

I think that might be what they needed. If you give it to me I can call them with it and ask it it is what they need.

    Thanks

Sink the Pink! Mention Prevention!  I am on board with such Tshirts and a march!  Wow, Anom, that article by Tony Isaacs was so powerful.  I add my two cents to this theme of "I hate BCAM". We even had to wear pink to my last Pilates Class.  What the.....!

Early detection is just like saying "oh, let's find a way to detect car crashes as soon as they happen" as if that will help solve any problem....

I am waiting to hear more about Vivre's Wellness Weekend.  Great idea!

The folks at this site would likely  be very delighted with your slogan, vivre.

Maybe they would even  sponsor your event...  or at least help spread the word about it.

http://www.bcaction.org/              Breast Cancer Action  -  they do not accept financial contributions from anyone who profits from breast cancer - whether by treating it or potentially causing it.   They are strong promoters of "Think Before You Pink" and prevention.

I'm totally with you all on this!  BC pills, HRT (I know Prempro caused my bc), chemicals, plastic food and water containers... They're all part of the ugly picture.  And the corporate marketing machine that "pink" has become is disgusting.

Here's another organization to keep in mind as caring about any environmental connection:

anom, I look just like that as well, only my hair is very short and dark (still growing back after chemo) We could be sisters!!!!!!

L, lets march, I'm all in. We would have to put our names on the back of the t-shirts so we can find one another. How fun would that be????

I read somewhere that there is pink toilet paper being sold. So now it must be "wipe for a cure"

vivre, where do you live? If we are close I will come and support your cause.

Sink the Pink! Mention Prevention!!!  Yes, I just made it up, I was so fired up I guess the creative juices were flowing! I don't do marketing at work, per se, but I have been with IBM for over 25 years and I think some of it rubs off or something...  Maybe that was divinely inspired! :)

I posted the web article Anom shared here on "Breast Cancer Deception Month" on Facebook with a link (found it on google). You would not BELIEVE all the support from other BC women out there!!!

Vivre, there are many women fed up with this crap. Your Web site could be the start of the next thing! I will march. (But maybe not in Feb in Chicago!!!) LOL.

Here is the URL in case you want to share more widely: http://searchwarp.com/swa551421-Breast-Cancer-Deception-Month-Hiding-The-Truth-Beneath-A-Sea-Of-Pink.htm

Sink the Pink!  Wipe for a Cure!  OMG, a good laugh is the best medicine.  I would love to join the kind of walk you guys are suggesting.  I know so many people who do the Pink walks with all the money raising.  I've never liked the idea of soliciting money from people, especially when it's all a mystery as to how it actually gets used, but do feel like I should be out there doing something to participate.  And making people aware of Prevention methods would be perfect.   All this mindless following along with whatever latest hype that is being promoted by the media and corporations, is one of the things that drive me nuts about being a citizen of this great country!

Spring, what is that link on Facebook?  I would like to have something like that on my profile because I am getting many of those Pink links sent to me by well meaning people, and would love to send them a link that talks about the real causes.

I love all of this. We just saw Capitalism: A Love Story. It was great. Michael Moore goes down to Wall Street to make a citizen's arrest of the CEOs of AIG. He drives a brinks truck up to their front door and brings out money bags asking AIG for our money back! Then he surrounds the building with yellow "crime scene" police tape. We have just been so abused in this country. Something needs to change.

How about after the Sink the Pink, Mention Prevention march we can do a Million Boob March on Washington.

C'mon Springtime, you could use a little cold fresh Northern air after all that hot and humid southern stuff. I will let you borrow extra scarves and gloves and you will love it!

Deni-You mean the Million Boobless March. Twice as many women, half as many breasts! But the biggest boob is Michael Moore. That creep is the master of manipulation. So much of the "truth" ends up cut out with his selective editing. I saw him on Hannity the other night. Hannity asked him why he did not give back the millions and millions he has made "capitalizing" on his movies. Moore tried to just change the subject, and after Hannity pressed the issue, he said he had a right to make a buck. What a hypocrite! Why is it evil for corporate bigwigs to make millions off of us, but hollywood dimwits can do the same and it is okay? I will never understand the double standard. I agree, that Wall street fat cats are overpaid, but so are those in the entertainment biz. At least Wall street cannot propagandize the truth, even though they get away with a lot.

Off my bandwagon now. . .

Michael Moore is controversial, but how about that guy who did the documentary on fast food?  Can't think of his name, but he also did one on living on minimum wage -- both very good, and not politically incorrect from anyone's point of view.

P.S. Just looked him up -- Morgan Spurlock, and the first was "Supersize Me," and the other one was something like "30 Days On Minimum Wage."

I just saw a thread on here about a new BC prevention pill that's in the works, using a natural substance, palm oil I believe.  They say it could be on the market and in clinical trials hopefully in about 2 years.  And that both of these could happen at the same time with no FDA approval required because it's a natural substance.  Is this possible?  The thread is called 2 years from BC prevention pill?
