I guess I should come in, get some coffee and get comfortable..I had my one year out MRI today, (by the way....MRI's are the worst form torture I can think of) they said I'd hear in 48 hours which means I won't hear until sometime next week...I had a double mast with silicone implants last year and of course every little pain makes me think it's back..I would kinda like to know if anyone else that's had this done had any kind of pain in the chest...I keep getting this off and on dull ache on my right side...we'll let me grab a magazine and I'll see ya around the coffee pot

Bette, So sorry to hear about the painful MRI. That's just downright crappy, and scary...that's me over there growling and kicking the wall. This beastly disease! I am very glad you have your strong faith to sustain you through painful times, and of course your wonderful Tom.

Califsun---yes, this is sort of the plight we are under; the worry , the never ending question and the aches and pains we can no longer ignore. That is why we are in the waiting room. If we weren't we would have no one else to talk to. Plus, I personally like to drink a strong coffee and talk. I also love carrot cake and am bound and determined to bake a cake and bring it to our room.
Four days away from my mammogram. I am six months out

Hello all -
What a lot of waiting we are all doing - congratulations to those of you who have received wonderful news - prayers and courage to those who have not - and are still struggling through this morass of endless tests and endless waiting . . .
I had the stereotatic biopsy today, mammogram-guided - ouch! They used the vacuum aspirator thingy - ouch again - but all in all, took about an hour and am feeling ok. Found out mammo report was a BIRADS 4 - but the good news (I always see the glass as half-full!) is that the microcalcifications are not multifocal - the tech and radiologist seemed pretty optimistic about the prognosis - however - as we all know - have to wait for the path report - which should be ready on Monday.
So, as we all continue to wait, I just summoned the cabana boys to make several pitchers of pomegranate martinis (for the anti-oxidants) - they should be arriving soon - so I am pulling up a nice comfy lounge chair and joining you all . . .
Courage and strength and wisdom and endurance and patience to all . . .

I think I need a full body massage after 5-6 hours in infusions and three hour drive home in the rain. I restarted chemo and am going to be doing rads at the same time. YUK. Now we wait to here the results of the rad onc/ med onc discussion on timing.
DH continues to be a trooper and a sweetheart. I think he needs college football in his waiting room today!

I posted my question in the tumor marker topic area, but thought maybe someone could help me hear while I am sitting and waiting!
Ok ~ I have a question?? I never concerned myself with my tumor markers. I felt it was just another thing to worry about and figured my onc would tell me when it was something to worry about. My question is what is the likely hood of cancer in my body if my tumor marker did not go up? I finally asked what my tumor marker was. It is 15. But, I had a pet scan and three areas are now under investigation. I have a nodule in my thyroid (biospy scheduled for Tuesday), spots in my mouth (ENT appointment on Monday) and a spot on my right breast. Orginally, cancer was my left breast. My onc wanted to take a wait and see attitude about the spot on my breast, but I scheduled an appointment with my surgeon in hopes of getting a biospy. Waiting and seeing is not the approach I like to take. Like to hear from anyone, but specifically, someone that experienced a metastases without their tumor marker going up. This sitting around and waiting is the worse, just want to find out so I can take action.

Bette--So glad to hear from you. I know what you mean about a massage. I started having them and I wonder why I waited so long to schedule appts.
Mary, I think it is good you are taking action. I wish I hadn't waited in the first place. doc put me on a watch and see mode and I regret that.

Hi all -
Still waiting for biopsy results - called med onco this morning and they have not received it yet - I suppose "no news is good news" but you all know the feeling of being in limbo until one finds out - ok, time to sit back and sip on a martini with you all - best wishes, prayers, blessings, etc. -

Went to my mammo follow up just four days shy of receiving the dreded first phone call. Today, they told me right away that my mammogram is clear as can be. When they told me I burst out in tears as soon as I hit the changing room. Wow, what a relief. Now all I have to wonder about is the low wbc and I am going to ask for that tomorrow.
Britt-I'd love a martini---been years since I've had one, but I'll share as we wait!!!!!!

A big toast of congratulations to you Jess!

Jess, that is fabulous news!!!! I know how relieved you must feel - and you deserve a special martini - how about an espresso martini?
And I am sure and I hope the low WBC thing will resolve itself!
Enjoy!

I am in the waiting room until this Thursday. Was dx with liver and bone mets 9/1 and have been on aromosin since 9/10. Got my first zometa infusion yesterday and my oncologist did a tumor marker test.
Personally, I told him I thought it was not enough time to see if the aromosin is working. And I also told him I was already sick of this whole cancer mess. He is from Peru and he thought I said I was sick of "him". Well kind of.... Crap I hate this waiting and feel from now on that's what I will be doing for a very long time.
xoxo

Hi flash!!!!!!!!

I am on my way to go get a pet scan. My back and hip have been hurting for weeks and I am so scared! Someone please help me feel better.......
0 -
Ok Lolagirl, in reality it could very well be Sciatica, which means a nerve is flared up in your back and hurts in your hip and sometimes goes down your leg. Of course once we have BC we imagine and must rule out the worst. Hugs and a Martini
Yeah Marie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kirby we all know that this damn BC means hurry up and wait! I don't know what else to say except you are in good company, and we really like to drink Martini's in this waiting room.

Kirby, I will be here waiting with you.. I will be here for awhile too, til they figure out what is wrong with me.
Lola, I am right there with you, hun. I have been having back and hip problems since March, severe since July. Mri,xrays,CT scan...all they say is minimal arthritis....going to a new orthopedic surgeon next Tues, so I will be here too.
hugs and prayers

Hi ladies,
I am scheduled for an MRI this Friday and was wondering if it's OK to do chest MRI with the port-a-cath. Anybody done this before?
Thanks for your help.

Americanpinay, I don't know but you can call and ask them, they won't do it if it isn't. Have my fingers crossed for everyone that all is B9 or stable, and that we can all dance with that handsome man named NED.

LOL linda. Ya know sometimes we just gotta laugh while we wait!!!!

Thanks, Omaha.
Hi Jrgolomb...not sure if you remember me from May Rads...hope all is well with you...
Be well ladies...

I do americanpinay- It seems like forever that I've heard from anyone on the May thread.
I am past one hurdle- clear mammo.....waiting to get a blood test to figure out why my counts are still so low. So, every ear ache, every sniffle, every cough around me makes me nervous.
Hey Britt----how about that martini????
