    Janathan,

I'm so sorry that your load is so heavy right now.  I know how hard it must be for your Dad.  Your family is in my prayers.

I hope that you enjoy the book.  I still haven't read mine to the end yet.  I just keep starting over from the beginning whenever I need to hear those beautiful words again.  I get a little further each time.  For me, it's like getting a hug from God.  I usually read a book from start to finish as quickly as I can.  This one is just too good to run through quickly.  I'm enjoying savoring the words and the feelings.  I pray that it brings you the peace and love that it has brought me.

    God bless

    Janathan,

Your entire family's intentions will be in my Novena as well.  This has turned out to be a "Perpetual Novena" for us I suppose....I say it every day and for all of your intentions, but I do like to pray by name when possible.

Cancer is a miserable disease....but thank you Lord for opening the gates of heaven to us so that when all our fighting is over and done, we can rest in Your arms!

    God Bless

Welcome Janathan, yes there is so much sadness within all are families I myself have had many hardaches in my life but I have to say for me it has only deepened my faith because this world offers nothing and I was once a lover of this world now I long for all that Our Lord promises for us in the next. This is only the stone that we step on to get accross to the other side. I pray that Our Dear Lord grant peace, comfort, and hope to Donna and Uncle Leonard as they go threw their trials. Also speacial intentions for your dear Dad. I know his pain as I have watched my Daughter go threw a BC diagnosis also my other daughter suffers with another dreadful illness. I believe threw prayers today, they are both healed, I prayed without ceasing. We have no idea how powerful prayer is. My love of my Catholic upbringing also allows us to go before Heaven and ask all the Saints for their powerful intersession.

Jacqueline, keeping you also in prayer along with so many of my other sister, Laura my, sister-in-law at 53 has lung cancer, her name is Candy, my daughter was named after her. Also my cousin Pat who is stage 4 bc and they are now running out of options. I love that you also believe in prayer and what prayer can do for all of us. Tonight I am going to the Dominican Chapel before the Blessed Sacrament and will also pray for all of us here,. PRAY PRAY PRAY, dear sisters

Beloved, I am so sorry!  Tell us more, we are ready to listen and support.  I woke up from my surgery hearing the nurses say "It's in her nodes" and that is how I realized I would have to have chemo.  We are here to help!! In sisterhood, xo

Beloved, I am so sorry to hear you have to do chemo.  That is such a disappointment....I know you will get much knowledge and support forn this website, but on this thread...you get the most powerful thing...PRAYERS!  I am lifting your name up in prayer as I write this....

Ladies, I have decided to keep a pad next to the computer, and I am writing each of your names, intentions and family members down on it as we share our concerns with each other. As I pray each morning and night to St.s Peregrine, Agatha and Our Blessed Mother, I will literally be holding each of you up in prayer.

    God Bless

Another thought for today...The Feast of Theresa of Avila.  From her quotes:

    "Let nothing disturb you

    Nothing frighten you

    all things are passing.

    With patient endurance

    All things are gained.

    One whom God posesses

    Wants for nothing.

God alone is enough for me.

God alone is all I need

I want for nothing since I am His own

I have everything in God alone."

    And also,

"More tears are shed by answered prayers than unanswered ones."

and finally, "Pain is never permanent."

    God Bless!

God bless and prayers for all, with special intentions for Gracie, Jacqueline, Beloved, nonijones, and Laura.

    Prayer for Those Who Suffer

"For those who suffer, and those who cry this night,

give them repose, Lord; a pause in their burdens.

Let there be minutes where they experience peace,

not of man but of angels.

Love them, Lord, when others cannot.

Hold them, Lord, when we fail with human arms.

Hear their prayers, and give them the ability to hear You back

in whatever language they best understand."

I pray to St. Peregrine for his intercession on behalf of my stepmom Donna, my Uncle Leonard, Tate, our BCO sisters, and all of those with cancer.

    Peace be with you all,

    ~Janathan

    Laura -

I hope this post is not too late for your novena - my neighbor, Ursula, has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 inoperable lung cancer.  She is 76 years old and quit smoking 27 years ago.  Her oncologist told her that it has spread to her lymph nodes and possibly her brain, which an MRI shall determine.  She was also told that if she chose not to undergo chemo, her life expectancy would be about six months; and should she decide to undergo chemo, about a year.  She will start her very intense chemo therapy next week.

I submit her name for prayer because she was kind enough to accompany my mother to the hospital when I had my lumpectomy in January of this year, and always looked in on me to make sure I was feeling well (she is a retired nurse).   Hearing about her dx broke my heart.

In addition,  I recently had a miraculous intercession by Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal - had a third CT scan scheduled to check on enlarged left ovary and spots on lung and pancreas - I prayed to Our Lady - and the scan turned out totally clean!  The spots had disappeared and the left ovary is now back to its normal size!  And another homage to Our Lady - I recently had my first diagnostic mammo since the surgery - the mammo of the left breast (non BC breast) showed very suspicious calcifications and was a BIRADS 4.  Had a biopsy of that breast last week - also prayed to Our Lady - and the biopsy is negative!  I must bear witness to what has happened to me.  I have "lurked" on this thread since its inception, but now feel I must join in on the many novenas that are being said for all of those who are suffering.

Thank you so very much, Laura, for starting this thread.

    Maria (a former Lapsed Catholic!)

Hello again ladies. i've been away too long.

Thank you for the prayers.  I don't think I ever took G*d's name in vain just a lot of 'holy s*&t", and dropped the f bomb...BUT YOU ALL are RIGHT!  Nothing holy about any of that!...thank you...maybe you've prayed it outta me!  gotta find a better way to express awe..."maybe just "amen!" hallelujah!...there we go.

Beloved...I'm sorry but get that badness outta you....easy for me to say.  Let these wonderful ladies who've been there done that help you...they got thru it so will you!  Please know I pray for your ability to accept and keep up the good fight.  God is WITH you....ALWAYS!

I had to miss bible study have had setbacks this week and need some prayers to mobilize this extra fluid...esp from the L breast.  Also praying I'm healed up enough by Dec I can still do stage 2 dec 10......all so much and so far away.......deep breath....GOD's PLAN is the best....my responsibility, pray and take care of Jennifer....The words of my dear deceased daddy Jack-ultra catholic:  "Take care of Jennifer"  another way to honor God......by caring for this life he gave us!  Hallelujah! Amen!

    Beautiful saturday here....GO TEXAS!

xoxo, love and prayers to all,

I played the organ at 4 Masses for some reason this wkend.  I heard my pastor's state of the parish address 4 times!... when he discusses the money and asks for more of it.

That should equal a pleniary indulgence.

OK ladies...I just read on another thread that our dear sister Laura has pneumonia.....please send out all your prayer angels to assist her at this time.

Laura, sending you warm hugs and heartfelt prayers for a quick recovery....I know you are concerned about your business, and this must feel like a bit of a set back. I hope yo utake comfort in knowing you have many prayers being said for you and your intentions.  Just remember to offer up your sufferings for His intentions, and if it really gets tough....just hand the whole kit and kaboodle over to Him to carry for you.  He has some experience with that.

    Much love and God Bless!

    Hi ladies,

I'm so sorry to hear you have pneumonia, Laura.  Sending soft hugs and prayers your way.  Try not to worry too much about business and other stuff...just focus on getting well and get lots of rest.

Went to our beach cottage over the weekend with DH for some much needed R&R but continued to pray for you all.  The ocean is just one of God's many beautiful creations and is so powerful but peaceful at the same time.

I pray to St. Peregrine for his intercession on behalf of all those with cancer.  I pray for a cure.  Special intentions for my stepmom Donna, Uncle Leonard, Tate, Laura, Jennifer, and Jacqueline.
