My dear sisters in Christ, Prayers for all of you. Why is it we can dam Our Lord and we can't Praise Him. I was once at a coctail party and all around me you could hear people using His Name in vain, I was having a conversation with someone and shouted Praise God, welllllll, people turned their heads to look at me....Is it not ture that Our Lord told us "there will come a day that we will be persecuted for His Name". Ladies we are in that time now, did He not also say "when you see these things happen look up your redemtion is near". Take a look around you, when I was in high school the main concern at a PTO meeting my Mom attended back in 1959 was an issue with kids chewing gum in school and putting the gum under the desks. Can you imagine !!!!
Dear Lord have Mercy on us Forgive us for we know not what we do.
Laura, you are such a blessing may God Bless You in a special way. Also prayers for Diana's continued heath and for Gods Peace to all my Breast Cancer Sisters.
BE A LIGHT UNTO ALL THE WORLD, JUST PRAY FOR GOD MERCY AS THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO....PRAY PRAY PRAY0 -

Some of my local prayer warriors have told me about St Michael of the Saints. He is a Trinitarian Mystic and Cancer Patron. His feast day is June 8th. There is a Novena for St Michael's intercession which is celebrated at the beginning of every month. Let me know if anyone is interested in that.
The prayer for cancer patients that is listed in the little pamphlet from the Trinitarians is:
Most Holy Trinity, You who gave us Saint Michael of the Saints as trusted friend and intercessor, and as patron of those afflicted with cancer, look with kindness on your servants who this day invoke his name.
Through his intercession, comfort those in distress, confirm those in doubt. Satisfy their spiritual needs from the treasury of your grace.
Remember all those who call on your help, but be especially solicitous of all of the ladies with breast cancer (you can add specific names here) Restore health to these ladies and to all who are sick.
Sanctify those who endure pain with Christlike acceptance and grant to all of us a just reward in the life of glory to come.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
Just a note to those of you who are interested in purchasing the book "My Other Self" by Clarence Enzler. The hard cover version orig sold for around $11 and the paperback for $4. But because they are out of print they go for anywhere from $30-$400. Check your church library first. If you look on line and it's more than $50 wait a week and check again. I've bought several copies to give to friends and the prices do spike and then sometimes come back down. It is an old book and the hardcover versions tend to be in better shape. I bought one paperback and the cover fell off as soon as I opened it. Kinda cool for me, cause then I researched how to fix books God Bless

For Paula Lord, and for all...
Eternal Father, I offer thee the most precious blood of thy divine son, Jesus in union with the masses said throughout the world today for all the Holy Souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, for those in my own home and within my family. Amen
That is the prayer of St Gertrude the Great. The Lord appeared to St Gertrude and told her that He longed to release the souls from purgatory, if only someone would ask. Our Lord dictated that prayer to St Gertrude and promised to release 1000 souls from purgatory each time it is said.

Concerned sis...my family used to visit Graymoor when I wass a child. My folks became friendly with a "Br. Chris" who was stationed there. I remeber it being a beautiful setting....
This upcoming weekend hubby and I are driving up to Vt. to catch some of the fall foliage. Another opportunity to see and feel the generosity of our God in nature!
Bless,
I love the power of St. Gertrude's prayer for the souls in Purgatory...another great generosity of our God!! Paulas will be remembered in my prayers today......thanks for posting j414.
Blessings today....and let's not forget to thank God for Christopher Columbus who was a Catholic, too!

Hi all I'm Catholic also. Was diagnosed in April 2007, Rt. Mastectomy, AC/T, four dd rounds each, and now on Arimidex for two years. Stage 2, Grade 3, 1.7 Cm, ER+ PR+, Her2-, one node positive. I'm asking now for prayers. Have been having some back pain, and have a PET scheduled this Friday, Bone scan next tuesday, then Dexa next Friday, see the Onc the following Tues for results. I'm hoping and praying it's just arthritis, but would appreciate your prayers and intercessions on my behalf.
I lurk alot and don't come into the site much, as I get pretty depressed hearing of all the sisters who are so ill with this awful beast. But I do read this thread. Am glad someone started a Catholic thread. God Bless you all.

Jacqueline, I am already in prayer for you....
Lord of Health and Wholeness,
In Your divine plan, you have seen fit to include, within your marvelous creation, disease and sickness, worry and concern.
Life becomes a balance of health and sickness, joy and despair, just as time is balanced between night and day, winter and spring.
Your servant Jacqueline now asks to be restored into wholeness of spirit, mind and body.
Hear O lord our prayers for her healing from her concerns.
Remove from her this worry so that fully restored she may return with renewed zeal to the daily life we share.
We trust fully in the Divine Power
to stir the hidden powers of the body, mind and spirit!
So awakened, these God-given powers will remove all pain and sorrow.
With abounding hope and faith,
we now call upon You and Your grace.
Divine Healer and Lord of Wholeness,
together we place ourselves in Your hands.
We ask for healing
but also for acceptance of Your holy plan for each of us.
Help us to embrace whatever you have decreed for Jacqueline and the situation she is in need of your intercession, as you support her with the strength of your Holy Spirit.
May she be blessed with the power and the love of God and the affection of all who love her.
Amen+

Blessings of healing and good health to all. I'm also Catholic and am new to posting to this thread. I'm doing well as I go through the reconstructive phase following BMX. However, my stepmom Donna has Stage IV cervical cancer and had surgery Monday to remove her bladder and colon, plus a total hysterectomy. She's currently in ICU, and we should know Friday if they got it all. She's got a tough road ahead and will have a catheter and colostomy bag the rest of her life but is in amazingly good spirits and has not lost her will to fight. Also, my Uncle Leonard appears to be in his final days of suffering from metastatic lung cancer. My dad is having a rough time watching his wife (and me, his daughter) fight this horrible disease as well as Uncle Leonard, as he is my dad's brother-in-law and best friend. Another relative on my husband's side, Tate, is suffering from breast cancer but can't have chemo or radiation until her lung capacity is increased (she had TB when she was 12). They live in Taihiti, and if and when she is cleared for more treatment, she will have to fy to France for chemo. Please pray for them all.
I pray to St. Peregrine for his intercession on behalf of my stepmom Donna, my Uncle Leonard, Tate, our BCO sisters, and all cancer patients.
Bless: Thanks for the book recommendation. I ordered it online today.
Gracie: I pray your scans all come back clean.
Laura: Thanks for starting this Catholic thread. This is my first post on this thread, but I visit it almost daily.
Peace be with you all.
