Gina - So happy your daughter is going to be all right!

I finally have news via email from my Godson and his family in Tuscaloosa, AL. They have suffered serious damage to their home but Eric, Jennifer and the girls are safe and unharmed, Thanks be to God! The situation is quite terrible there for thousands are now homeless, hundreds or more injured, and so many lost to this terrible storm. Please remember the whole area in your prayers.

    Hugs to All

I would like to add John Ciechanski to the novena.  He is being tested for bladder cancer and we are hoping for B9 results.

Sheila - I put a link to the Intentions Page after the Novena Prayer.  Is that better?

    http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/38/topic/760274?page=1#post_2366361

Another trick you can do is if you're in IE or Firefox, have two tabs open... one on the prayer page and one on the intentions page.

    Traci - I added yours.

    Donna - Welcome - I added yours.

Gina - I didn't know if you wanted your daughter in the novena.... maybe you already did?  Migraines can be so scary.

Terrible weather, indeed.  We were lucky, but many others were not.  Commuting this morning was not fun.. the rain was torrential and there were tornado warnings just north of where we were driving.

To all Unless otherwise counselled differently by Theresa, I think we could add people. to the novena as we go. Sagina may have taken the written list over. That of course is very special,  but with all that is happening prayer is prayer. However it is accomplished in unison is all that counts.

Sagina-gina Thank you for taking the lists. Thank you, God that at this moment there is now seeable crisis for her daughter. Thank you St, Therese on this our first novena day.

May all that have lost their lives in this new crisis, sit at the right hand of God this day. May their families not despair. May all have the strength to get through this trial. Namaste

Traci - I forgot to answer your question.  You only need to say the novena once/day for 9 days. :-)

Sheila - yes, we can continue to add prayers.  No formula here.  Just simple, powerful prayer.

Michelle - I added yours since I didn't see where you added them on the Intentions page.

God bless you all.  I pray for all who died or suffered from the awful storms.

    Pax et bonum!

So sorry to hear about your daughter's headaches.   Glad to hear it was nothing more sinister.  So very sorry about all the trouble and anguish over the storms.

Just letting everyone know I am saying the Novena for all intentions.  Namaste.  See you tomorrow for prayers.  (I hope any way.)

Preparing to say Novena, and also extending my prayers for those lost, injured or who suffered destruction of property in the tornadoes. So many people lost their lives, were injured or directly affected. I can only pray that help will be swift and lasting, and that people will receive comfort from their neighbors as well as strangers.

Dear ladiesI felt such comfort today praying for you all, i printed out the intentions and keeping them in my purse so I can repeat them through the day.Betty I love your intention it is so meaningful, after what we have all dealt with emotionally and physically I know we never want to go there again. I also love all the intentions for your children to find and keep the faith, so beautiful. I am really taking my time with these intentions and feel all of you through them.M

Hi everyone.  Sorry I didn't update you all yesterday....but I had a humorous evening and then went straight to bed....I slept!

I had the privilege of printing out our intentions and taking them to the Basilica yesterday afternoon.  I pulled the heavy wooden door open and was in the entry way, I noticed to my left stairs down to a lower level and stairs to a choir loft.  I entered the main doors and walked into one of the most beautiful churches I have seen.  My shoes softly clicked on the tile floor, as I walked up the main isle clutching our pages of intentions.  I saw the dome over the alter, and the ornate sculpture that seemed to rise out of the stone and reach to the top.  In the circular part of the dome I noticed little arches, windows perhaps, with Easter lilies in front of them, ah, curtains, that's how that do that.  I kneeled at the altar's railing and prayed with all my heart that God hear our intentions.  I looked over to the right and every candle was already lit up.  I looked over to my left and there was a wrought iron gate with a purple curtain masking what lay behind.  The on the left side of the alter, a statue of the sacred heart of Jesus stood by a door way, and above the door a small statue of mother Mary.  So as I am partial to the Sacred Heart I kneeled and offered all our intentions again, and on that platform I left our intentions, nameless, knowing that I was not alone, and we have been heard.

Gina, thank you so much for bringing our intentions to the Basilica.  I loved your description of your visit.  I'm glad your daughter is better.

I have 2 prayers that I'd like to post for tonight:

    In Your Strength

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.  Psalm 18:32

I don't feel up to the battle of pushing through this trial.  I stand outside walls dividing me from the other side of my struggle.  They seem huge, thick, and cold. I like the idea that You, Lord, arm me with strength, but it must be strength I am not aware of yet.

I will give myself and my situation to You, so that You can dress me in the armor of Your strength.  Thought it is my hope that Your perfect way for me will involde a door with a simple latch and a sign reading "For you," I realize it might not be that easy.  Prepare me for all that is to come.  (One minute Prayers for Healing).

    What Healing Looks Like

Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.  Jeremiah 33:6

I want to be whole, Lord instead, I feel broken in places.  My heart is shattered and slowly, slowly mending.  Some mornings I barely have energy to get up.  All along I have had this picture of absolute healing and health.  It is a perfect picture filled with a flawless, energized version of myself.

But, God, I was forgetting the healing I experienced to get to this place.  I had forgotton to look behind me and notice how far I have come.  More and more I experience moments of peace and trust in Your ways. These snapshots of time make up the picture of healing.  They shape the image of hope in my heart.  (One minutes Prayers for Healing).

My brother-in-law, Charles is in the hospital since Monday for heart arrhythmia and fluid in lungs, please pray for him for speedy recovery.

Please pray for the souls of Peter (a parishioner) and my mom Terry, both of whom passed away in the month of April.

    Namaste!

Betty, is baby Ava at home or in the hospital? Is she breastfeeding or bottle feeding?         I may not be at home when you answer this so,  The very best thing you can have your Dil do is call the lactation specialist at the hospital. If they do not have one, call the closests childrens hospital and ask for their lactation specialist. If they don't have one ask for the nearest childerns center that does and ask for their 800#. Even if she is a bottle baby they can still make suggestions. To often doc's want to make a big deal out of what is a teaching situation. Male/ female doc's that have never fed a baby or actually worked through the problems are not much help-----doesn't matter how many books they may have read.  If normal suggested procedures don't work, then looking for other reasons are reasonable. Is this their first baby. Actually, doesn't matter all that much each baby is soooooooo different.

Minimum----any reflux situation --not to much at one time. May want to continue two-3  hour feeding schedule vs four with smaller portions. Positioning --head elavated above the belly. If breast feeding--- if the breast is quite full, it could be squirting to fast---relieve pressure off breast by manual expression of some milk prior to BF. Bottle feeding the hole might be to big and squirting to fast. Try different nipples.

After feeding do not lay baby flat----prop with head chest above belly. Don't bounce. If they are a fast sucker- burp often . because they suck to much air while either on the breast or bottle.

I can't see it now, there was something about weight...assuming loss---------breatsfeed babies will loose weight to begin with until Moms milk is established---can take 5-6 weeks. She should be about three weeks old now. How much weight and how much loss-----age in days. First time breastfeeding moms, regretfully, in this country are encouraged to give up BF at the first sign of any problem. That's why getting a hold of a Lactation specialist is "critical" to get over the bumps.  I'll save this now and go and see if this answered any off your questions-----Love sheila

Betty will check in in a few hours, going to a TEA. Hospitals generally have there lactation specialist on call. So, don't hesitate to call just because it's Sat. Reflux has many origins in a newborn. Most are related to manner and positioning. Could be related to product if she  is on formula. Many things. With breastfeeding-----we have lost the art of breastfeeding because MEN decided it wasn't good----I shall get off my soapbox on that one.  Now if your DDor DIL is breastfeeding -----she can get help through this. Do not despair in this. Call the numbers I suggested. I will be back and checkin immediately after Tea.

edit4pm----no response I'll checkin with you latter------Namaste sheila
