My aunt came here to help us before my surgery... Throughout my recovery of that... The last two months of chemo DD A/C. And now she left to go home this morning. It's been three months and she has medical issues of her own to tend to but it is hitting me so hard this, especially since I'm to sick to get up today. So I come here to my spiritual place on BCO and ask that you join with with me in praying for her to have a safe trip home to Mexico city and that she gets well.
I am scared of how it will be without her here. It was like having my mom and her leaving was like losing her all over again.

Oh Laura, sweetie, so hard, have a cry, get it out. Give your Aunt a call. If she's home. Still early enough. Is there any cousin, that you can call that would understand both your Mom and your Aunt, and you. Sorry I didn't look at the computer till now. Prayer love sheila

Paula,
Losing one's mother is so terribly painful. Of course you needed (and I am sure0 still need time to grieve. When I lost my mother, I sat in this big old Blue Lazy boy recliner we had purchased for her (and she never used, as her pancreatic cancer was swift.) I would pour hot chocolate granules over whipped creme and eat it "raw" crying for months.
and with that image, I just saw the time and have to roll out.
it's o.k. to be just where you are Paula
and Sheila, fine on Mondays with me
love to All

Traci, so sorry for the concerns and worries you are experiencing. Please bring them here for all of us to pray with you on. Paula, losing your mother is one of the hardest things anyone ever will experience. Take all the time you need to grieve. We are all here for you. Maria, glad you got a vacation in. Hope it was relaxing and fun! Good to have you back though. Laura, I am praying for you and your aunt. Shiela, I am good with Mondays.
Went to First Friday mass this morning and remembered everyone there. It was Monsignor's birthday, and we all sang Happy Birthday to him. Maybe that will bring us extra special blessings! Had my second Taxotere on Wed.; only one more to go! Doing fine on this treatment. Also found out my onc is pregnant with her second, due Dec. 3! She has a 15 month old son. I am very happy for her, but hope it doesn't mean I have to find a new doc. I guess I'll find out at my next visit.
DH's 50th b-day is on the fouth of July. We are going over his brother's for a barbecue with his mother too. Then we're going to try to attend some fireworks. Hope everyone has a wonderful fourth of July weekend!
Namaste, Kay

HI everyone. Will be limited on computer time this weekend. Going to try a "staycation" which isn't hard to do in San Antonio. Have a very special guest coming in from Kansas, he's like a son to us so we are all going to be tourists!
So since I will probably miss tonight and the weekend I feel compelled to come here and be among women of God to remind me we are His children, created in His image, and when we let the stress and worries be carried by Him, we can feel His presence and love when we breath deeply and listen and say, God's got this.

I appreciate your final sentence. Ladies I am overwhelmed with Stress the situation with my Husband is not improved and has not found a job as of yet. We are really dwindling our savings, but more importantly I am losing respect for my Husband. He is a very hard worker and a very good man but just cant get a hold of this issue and I am carrying our financial burden on top of every thing else.
In addition my OB GYN just called and they have been watching my Uterus for odd thickening and now are calling me in for an endometrial biopsy, I am overwhelmed with anxiety on all fronts. On top of everything else I have guests here for the 4th of July and I can not force a smile.
My faith is at it's ultimate test, does life ever just go smoothly I am scared and feel very alone.

It is so hard at least I know I have a hard to asthey say let go let God, but when i do it someghow works...sending you lots of prayers love and hugs!

I am here tonight if anyone else is here to pray at 10.
I'm not sure I can do Mondays... it's a work night and I have to hit the hay by 9pm.
Michelle - I'm so sorry to hear the anxiety in your note ... what a tough road you're on. I will definitely offer up prayers for you and ask St. Joseph to step in and help out if it's God's will.
Let me find some evening / night prayers.

Kay - you sound like you're doing great on Taxotere!!! So much better than I did. It's funny how we all react differently to the meds. Almost done!
Gina - enjoy your weekend with your special guest!
Laura/Beagles - prayers for you too. You're strong and will do just fine, but I understand how you must feel having your aunt go back to Mexico City. Maybe you can take comfort in our Blessed Mother watching over you ... take your worries to Mary and she'll bring them to her Son.
Ellie - thank you!
Skip and I are going on a road trip tomorrow ... I'm doing some family genealogy stuff and we'll do some Civil War stuff too. We'll stay overnight, then come home on Sunday evening ... fun fun fun. We're going to a church in Lynchburg ... it's always fun to go to a different church when on vacation. BBQ is planned for Monday. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Hi Theresa! Yes I am doing well on Taxotere, so much better than AC and Taxol. Only one more on July 25.
I really like today's gospel.
Scripture: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." Matthew 11:28-30
Prayer: I too feel burdened at times, grant me rest.
Response: Of course you feel burdened, especially when you seem to pull a sled loaded with the day's tasks and responsibilities without pause. You are being invited to let go of the sled and rest in the shade of my light. Instead of the clamor from the external calamity that seems to surround, whether that be deadlines to meet, tasks to perform, personal issues to resolve, you discover a chamber apart from the chaos that reigns outside and sense a peace descending upon you.
Once you resume the challenges that wait, the load seems lighter; the progress along the sometimes rocky path is smoother. If the truth be known you have deepened, become more conscious of the graces so freely showered upon you.
It is this time in the shade, the pause in your day whether it be at first light or exhausted as you put your head on the pillow, that you experience for yourself the welcome that is extended to you and the relief and comfort of my grace and love. Indeed, my yoke is easy, and my burden light.

I would like to broach the subject of prayer night. Theresa can't make it on a work night. Theresa is intergal to prayer development and guiding us. So, unless someone else has an idea. I suggest we must leave it at Fri. night.
May be a time change by a we bit. 9pm est makes it 6pm pst. Prayers last only a few minutes.
chime EST folks . Home from dinner, ready to settle in for the evening?
Chime in PST folks. Ready to eat or go out, would 5 minutes be okay. For Th PST folks they are out by 7pm if they are going out.?
WE may have to leave it at 1000pm EST. but chat about Namaste.

No posting's in three days wow
Talked by phone with paula --------sounded good-------was going RV'ng to Utah
Pm's Anne ----she is gardening well. Four weeds may be pulled if they don't straighten up. She's got'em on probation to see what they do. She's already been asked to take on more gardening responsibilities. She sounds enthused and has developed a nice collaborative relationship with another gardner.

Hello hello!
Yes, it sounds like summer vacation time for us and that's GREAT news!! That means we are doing well and thriving! :-) We took a mini vacation and did some family genealogy on my side and a Civil War site for Skip. It was great to get away for a few days.
Because it's summer and stays lighter longer, Becky and I have been taking 30 minute walks after I digest my dinner, so I haven't had time to post in the evening as I used to do when the sun set earlier. By the time we come home all hot and sweaty and I shower, it's bed time! But I think and pray for you all every day.
I've been working hard at my weight watchers/exericse routine ... have only lost a little, but have menopause and tamoxifen working against me. I'll keep at it.
I'm game for Friday prayer at either 9 or 10. I still want to post the rest of my lesson. We have SFO this weekend.
Skip and I finished reading Pope Benedict's Jesus of Nazareth on our commute. The man has one huge brain! Very smart and very enlightening. Now we're reading St. Augustine's Confessions. I'm telling you, if you think you're a very bad sinner and could never be forgiven your sins, read Confessions. Augustine was a very naughty boy. But when you read it, it sounds like he's writing about today. People never change. Our environments change, but our behavior is timeless. You'd think we'd learn from our ancestors, but we don't. What he describes as a youth almost sounds like gang mentality or at minimum a pack of bad boys. And he is one of our greatest saints and church fathers.
Sheila - thanks for keeping us posted with Paula and Anne!
Maria - what kind of surgery??
Pax et bonum!

Theresa glad you enjoyed your mini vacat. sounds like fun! it is a revision surgery from my breast reconstruction. FRi night prayers 9 or 10 would work either way fo me too! :0

Here is the second half of this month's lesson on Prayer... Praying with God's Word
Using the Scriptures
God is present to us in many ways, such as the Eucharist, but He is everywhere. He speaks to us in many ways too, through the voices of others, our own experiences of grace and sin, the beauty and mystery of nature, but most particularly, He has spoken to us through Holy Scripture... He is powerfully with us when we read Scripture reverently and prayerfully. The Books
New Testament
A. Four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
B. Acts of the Apostles, the story of the early Church
C. 21 Letters of Paul, James, Peter, John, Jude, which detail the meaning of Jesus' life, death, resurrection and ascention
D. Book of Revelation - hope in persecutionOld Testament
A. Pentateuch (1st five books: the Torah, the Law) plus Joshua, Ruth (8 books)
B. Historical Books showing God's plan operating fro Samual to Maccabees (13 books)
C. Prophets, "conscience of Israel" (18 books)
D. Wisdom literature (7 books), practicial approaches to the problems of life, Psalms (73 books in all).Bible study is not prayer. It is preparation for prayer. Bible study groups are useful in that we learn about the history of the books of the Bible and get different viewpoints. There are also inexpensive commentary pamphlets on all the books of the Bible, if you want to study on your own.
Prayer is not Study
When you use the Bible to pray, don't make it a time of Bible study. Read the passage(s) slowly, mindfully, opening yourself up to God's Word and what He wants to tell you about Him. Don't be distracted by the history, the author, grammar, other people's opinions -- that's for Bible study. Don't go about it saying "I'm going to read the Gospel of Matthew this week." It might take you weeks or years to pray that Gospel. Mother Angelica has a great book about praying with Scripture. She took different passages and just let her mind go into the Word, allowing God to speak. We Respond to God's Word
Just as two people have a unique relationship with each other - words they share, glances, posture, action, being with - we have a unique relationship with God. There is no script to follow. We all relate to God as we are. Some are contemplative, some are gregarious, some are imaginative and some are more comfortable being formal or with rituals. Real prayer means facing the reality of God with a pure heart and mind and responding to what the Holy Spirit demands from us.St. Francis had a profound reverence for the Holy Word of God. He wrote "Whenever I find his holy name or writings containing his words in an improper place, I make a point of picking them up and I ask that they be picked up and put aside in a suitable place." Where is your Bible?

Hi all just woke up Had colonoscopy today, had had two polyps in Jan , so, was pretty concerned. Clean report and saw at least a dozen and 1/2 of old friends that I worked with. Poor Doc wanted to get things moving and I just keep talking and hugging LOL. I had a reputation as a talker --can't tell eh? give me a little joy juice --oh my. Slept really nice and deep all day. Hope I will be able to go to sleep tonite. LoL
Lets keep prayers at 10 pmEST tomorrow and announce for 9pm EST 6 PM PST for next week and see what happens. Fri is such an active night out for all it seems. OR a hit the sack early on the eastern side.
Tink good luck on the redo. work.
Theresa, my brothers have told me about Augustine. Interesting character.
Had a Pm from Apple she sounded good too. Her two meds are throwing her for a loop and the docs won't do a crani and she's disappointed at that , but still sounded upbeat, Her two brothers with LYMphoma are doing well.
Whomever sent the Pm to ThatsLife said to say thank you. There are several people that I'm PM'g with thatare hesitant about coming hereb/c of different experiences, but I think they would enjoy it once they were here.
Sons engagement is off , but they are still talking so, prayers for whatever Gods plan is. Namaste sheila
