    Gosh,

So sad to hear about the Mary's......what a loss!  I pray Mary can do more NOW than she could whilst so beridden w/ human, earthly illness.

Thanks Laura.  Things seem to be moving along toward Nola! in less than 2 weeks!

Had the most wonderful day yesterday.  Visited w/ my oldest sister 20 yrs older than me wo was in town from Lubbock......she is not in the greatest health-she has scleroderma...and honestly has almost died a few times.  She wasn't feeling so great yesterday.  We went to the 'parade of lights' in downtown FTW.  It was great.  It was SO nice to hear, see 'MERRY CHRISTMAS" w/o any fear of not being politically correct.  The other huge upper, was I sat next to my sister's daughter in law's mother ....she just recovered -and is doing famously after her second heart transplant.......Both the nephew and his wife, close to my age, have jokingly referred to their 'momma dramas' ...ye tactually the heart stuff is congenital and my nephew's wife unfortunatley share's the same disease process tho not yet as advanced that she needs a heart transplant...yet.......anyhoo....we are certainly not guaranteed anything!  Just grateful for what we do have and realize it too is a gift!

More later! Have a great T-giving weekend!

Ladies, I can NoT believe we are in ADVENT!  I missed am masses...Have a new yard guy who likes to come every other sunday  but in the am( I know my neighbors LOVE me!-NOT).  I explained in perfect spanish last time por favor later or sabado? but...well...Oh WELL!  fortunately I can go this eve at  7pm w/ all the co-eds!  it's fine as I'm moving slow today..and I like the co-eds!  I've happily supported their causes and HEY I am a legitimate student!  But all my thurs eve UD classmates are closer to my age 40's and 50s....but it IS fun to relive!

ok, thinking I'll get a second wind and find my saints and quotes after I am hit over the head w/ 'advent' this eve!

    have a wonderful sunday ladies!

    Hello,

I am very sorry to hear the passing of Mary.  We also just lost another bc sister, Bette Dietrick over the weekend. She is now at eternal peace with our wondeful Lord. Please keep her and all new fallen angels in your prayers.

I'll be praying for you Joyce. Please pray for me too.  I just discovered a swollen lymph node yesterday. Getting PET results tomorrow. I don't think chemo worked too well BUT God is still in control. It was a difficult Sunday but I do feel renewed in strength and spirit. This morning the sun (Lord) shined on me so bright I was blinded for 30 seconds.

Saint Peregrine: Please continue the intecessory prayers for all suffering now. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

     Jeannine

    Good morning!

Joyce hope all went famously, Jeannine, I pray it's nothing or something unrelated...

Gosh! A bit freaked that today is 12/1.  Today's Saint is St. Eligius:

He was a bishop born around 588 near Limoges.  Eligius(Eloi) was a blacksmith and goldworker.  He served both King ClotaireII and his successor, Dagobert.  he became priest and was named bishop of Noyon in 641; he worked tirelessly among the pagans.  He died in 660.  His cult was popular in the Middle Ages.  He is depicted in the dress of a goldsmith or blacksmith or in episcopal vestments, often with a horseshoe or horse, for according to legend he found it easier to shoe horses by removong a leg and then reattaching it.  He is invoked against ulcers, earaches, and enteritis.  Protector Goldsmiths, blacksmiths, and garage workers.  "Eligius" is from latin and means 'elected by God".

Above from "Saints; a Year in Faith and Art"

From Daily Catholic Bible:  " The more we lack in this world, the more we discover the best thing the world has to offer us:  the cross"  Venerable Charles De Foucald

Have a wonderful Tuesday ladies.  Trying to tie up some loose ends and still praying my own stage 2 surgery is on the books for next thursday....Oh the hoops we have to jump thru! Despite the fact I take nothing forgranted- I know when stage 2 is compete it will bring some closure.

    love and prayers

My surgery was a breeze as far as surgeries go....not even a bad reaction to the anesthesia!  It was fat gafting around my foob.  So my stomach is sore where they took the fat and I get to see the foob tomorrow.

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Advent Season-

I have decided to go to mass, adoration, or devotional daily in the month of December and Pray for friends and family and their specific intentions. Tuesday I went to a devotional to Mary and we all got the medal after devotional.

I dedicated this devotional to your intentions on this thread as well as starting St. Agatha Novena again. Not just for healing for BC but for all Women's issues, the Side effects, the worries we share for our children and spouses etc.

December 8th is the feast day of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, so I hope you ladies will join me in prayer that day and ask Mary to continue to intercede for us on this thread as she has already so graciously done. ( so many good things have come to be)

The medal states "O Mary who conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee"

It's funny but I took the medal and immediately fastened it to my charm with my Grandmother's picture (she died this year at age 91) I wore it for the first time yesterday and had the best day I have had in a long time physically and mentally!!

So the prayers are for your intentions, Laura, Apple, Angel, NoniJ, Hood, Bless, Jeannine, LMFSM, Mary,NancyD, Jennifer, Jacqueline, and all the sisters on this thread and their intentions.

Be Well and Be at Peace.

O Saint Agatha, who withstood the unwelcome advances from unwanted suitors, and suffered pain and torture for your devotion to our Lord, we celebrate your faith, dignity, and martyrdom.

Protect us against rape and other violations, guard us against breast cancer and other afflictions of women, and inspire us to overcome adversity.

O Saint Agatha, virgin and martyr, mercifully grant that we who vernerate your sacrifice may reeive your intercession. AMEN-

    NOVENA TO ST. Agatha-

    Good morning ladies!

I am Nola bound on Tuesday for stage 2 of diep and aprt of that will involve dealing w/ an open wound on my abdomen.....that is kind of painful and swollen BUT I know will be made to either go away or we'll have a plan on how to speed up granulation.  At any rate I'm not working today because I have some new swellign and am shortly goign to see my Physical therpaist/lymphedema therapist/wound therapist to get her take on if I should start antibiotics then I'm sending in pics and messages to Nola docs...they've known and truly it's been manageable just don't think I could stand for 12 horus today w/o getting a lot more swollen and a lot more uncomfortable.  So of course I'm asking you to keep praying!

So wanted to share w/ you we had this huge conversation(debate?) last pm in my Catholic bible study class on praying to saints and asking for intercession.  One guy in our smaller discussion group is there on his wife's request(or demand?)....anyhoo he is Methodist.  Big debate last pm...and I guess I do understand where he's coming from......We're in Deuteronomy and there is so much about 'no images'.....anyways to have the instructor and other of my group members explain was actually helpful to me as well.  But I do find comfort in the images, artwork, saints and their stories.....We did wonder if many original Catholics who were illiterate were given or made some of these?  Chime in if you have info that i don't...pretty sure I'm not giving ALL the information, or articulating as well as I want to.

Love and prayers to all!  Need to run!
