Thanks, everybody. I received treatment yesterday. Oncologist is a little concerned about my feet, which are swollen, itchy, and a tad painful. Along with an elevated heart rate, I think she's also concerned about my heart. I have scans and an echocardiogram coming up so hopefully we'll know more soon. She also wants me to see a cancer psychiatrist to go over my meds. I thank God for His Faithfulness and for blessing me with such a caring, knowledgable medical team.

I didn't see your posts from yesterday, Penny...gladly, your last post made me smile! Dang nabit if that combo isn't giving you a lot to deal with! I had a couple bouts of racing heartbeat too, on n/h/p. Once was last April. I went to another dr in my dr's practice-a small fever & racing heartbeat & she said I needed the er. They did EKG, blood, urine, lung xray, leg Doppler, was on monitor, gave fluids. I'd had txt 2 days earlier & attending dr came & asked if I'd had neulasta-white count over 30,000. They said nothing worrisome, possibly dehydration. Two days later I was really down with a bad cold. Tank up on water/maybe Gatorade (yuck) and take it easy, friend! The feet are a mystery (using my doctor voice!). Hope today finds our good Saviour pouring His love all over you!!!

I'm a big fan of St Francis de Sales. I hope no one minds if I post quotes from him once in a while. :-) Penny

'At last, God will raise you up, and will cause you to rejoice, and "will make you see the desire of your heart." (Psalm 21:2 RSV)'

Had to Post this pic of my new kitty---I named her Esmerelda- she is a 1 year old lynx color point Siamese that I got from a feline rescue.  FeelingFeline I thought you'd want to see this.

Penny, prayers for your continued improvements.  It is rainy here today and they are predicting the possibility of 1 inch of snow tomorrow afternoon...(or more rain)......

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I have a lot to be grateful for this year.

Prayers for all on this thread!

One of my sons has been struggling with my cancer diagnosis. His behavior and mental health have been deteriorating during the past month. I thought I'd post a prayer to St. Dymphna on his behalf. He'll be going for a consult with a specialist soon, but in the meantime....

Hear us, O God, Our Saviour, as we honor St. Dymphna, patron of those afflicted with mental and emotional illness. Help us to be inspired by her example and comforted by her merciful help. Amen.

Elaine, I will pray for your son.  I am sure his love for you and the fear of what you are going thru are intertwined.  I will pray that your treatments are successful and well tolerated and that he find peace and reassurance.  May he always  have HOPE and knowledge that  the Lord is faithful to those who trust in Him.

PS Redheaded - good for you for going to a rescue organisation. Animals from breeders are guaranteed to find homes but rescued animals have to wait for someone like you to come into their lives...

Red...Esmeralda is beautiful & it looks like she's found herself to be quite cozy in her new home :).

Elaine...prayers that your son will be able to accept your diagnosis. I think it's good that he'll be able to meet with professionals. I can see that no matter how you may try to reassure him during this time, he's probably terrified of losing the most precious person in his life. I also pray that we'll all be here...to love & nurture those we love for years & years :)

Grammy...am still so grateful we got to do lunch & hopeful for more fun times together! Your healing is truly inspirational! God is so good!!!

FeelingFeline...How is your family? I'm hoping well & happy!

Thank you all for your prayers. My son (age 12) has autism and is not particularly verbal. He had been (relatively) well-behaved before my diagnosis in late June. Since September, his behavior has been deteriorating on a number of levels. He can no longer spend most of his school day in the regular classroom (too disruptive). In the past few days, his behavior at school has been better (thank you, Lord, and all those who have prayed on his behalf). He has not had any major meltdowns, and his aides have been able to get him to focus more on his schoolwork. But, his behavior at home has worsened, and I worry that our trip to a nearby city for Thanksgiving will be a disaster. Thankfully, we will be visiting friends who also have a son on the spectrum and who understand these issues. I pray for a peaceful visit and a Happy Thanksgiving for all.

Penny, God bless you and your loved ones and your medical team. Today especially. Get lots of rest and ease in the days to come. Create the perfect romantic atmosphere for the neulasta babies to get together and have more babies Smile

ElaineTherese, you have a tough hand there. There are better times ahead. People with autism mature just the same as everyone matures. Some of the things your son finds difficult now will improve simply with time, because of increasing maturity. My husband's eldest son is on the spectrum. (He has what used to be called "high functioning autism" so has always gone through mainstream school with assistance). He is now 19 and those who do not live with him would not even be aware of him having any issues to cope with. He is in what would be similar to community college in the US and is preparing to make an application to uni next year. I hope you have a really gentle Thanksgiving. God and time are on your side. God bless you and yours.

Appointment cancelled. Woke up with a lousy head cold. Post-nasal drip, sore throat. Yucky. Chemo break, day before Thanksgiving. Whoo Hoo! Thank You, Lord!

Happy Thanksgiving, all. May the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and all the Holy Angels fill your hearts with everlasting peace, love, joy, and charity. Pray for the less fortunate. Do unto others.

ElaineTherese - I don't walk in your shoes so far be it from me to try to give you advice. I have a couple of friends with autistic boys and they both said the boys went through a bad phase right around puberty. I guess "this too shall pass" is ok to say? Keeping you and yours in prayer.

Penny -- enjoy the week off from chemo! Alas, I didn't have as good an excuse, so I'm sitting in the chair as I type. Prayers for your cold and a peaceful Thanksgiving.

Yes, we do believe that our son's behavioral problems may very well be linked to the onset of puberty. Even so, we are thinking of trying some meds on him for his behavioral problems. He seems so anxious and oppositional -- maybe some gentle anti-anxiety meds.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Thank you, Lord, for all the good things I have in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving Penny. Hopefully cold will not be sp lousy tomorrow and you will have a lovely day with family.

    Happy Thanksgiving ElaineTherese.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the other lovely ladies here. My hubby is from NC - alas for him, no day off in Ireland. However I am graduating from my post grad studies on Friday (yes, silly hat and gown time) so he HAS booked a day off for that.

Penny, I hope your cold clears up so you can enjoy your "chemo free" week more.

Congrats Feeling Feline on completing your post grad studies----WHOO HOOO!!  Do you throw your caps in the air at the end of the ceremony like we do here in the States? (maybe post grad is more dignified--eh)

Elaine-You are a great mom and he is great kid and as far as everything else, just keep doing your very best and whatever happens, you will deal with the best you know how.  There is only one judgment that matters and that is reserved for the divine One.  He sees all and understands all.  I will keep praying for him, it keeps my mind occupied in a more productive way.  (((HARD HUG))),

Saw my MO today and he said all is well, blood work looked fine, suggested I try a two week break from the Arimidex to see if my strange ear sensations goes away when we withhold the drug.

I wish all of you a Thanksgiving filled with all the things that you love about Thanksgiving, if not with the people you love, then the memories of people you have loved. and that have loved you.  It's just my Dad and I this year and he is failing more and more.  It is a struggle as our roles reverse as he ages.  My Onc told me today, old people never see themselves as old. and he told me a story about his mom that really helped.  He's such a good guy.  I am about to attempt to get a court ordered guardianship in place, which my father will resist and if I lose, he will never forgive me.  And I don't know who will look out for him then.    I am so very anxious over doing what is right for him.    Even so,  I have a lot of blessings this year to be thankful for.  My BC.Org discussion board folks are a big one.
