    Hello all!

So much has been going on wow! It's been a rough and stressfull last 2 weeks for me battling insurance companies and IPA groups but I finally won my grievance to enter the PARP trial.  However, my entrance is still contingent upon my CT results that I'm having on Wed. My right incision has been sore lately, and the dreaded bc thoughts start filling my head.UCLA has been tremendous and so supportive. The researcher told me with all the hurdles I've jumped I should get the PARP drug. Let's keep on praying!

Nancy: I pray for your quick healing and recovery. I miss seeing you on the boards. Hope all is well.

Saint: You're in my prayers too and I hope you're feeling okay.

I must share my incredible dream with all of you! Last night I dreamt I woke up and saw this small golden light by my end table. (I slept the opposite way). As I opened my eyes, a beautiful golden light shined brighter and almost blinded me.  I immediately knew this was the Lord. I was scared but quickly told him " I love you Lord and will always obey you". The light stopped and I woke up. Researching this, some interpret the light to being in the presence of the Lord.  I know I was! Some say the light means a peaceful solution but I felt his love. Incredible huh?

St. Peregrine & St. Anthony: Please continue the intecessory prayers for all our bc sisters suffering. In Christ we pray Amen.

    God Bless,

    Jeannine

Jeannine, incredible thanks for sharing, such a blessing.

Thinking on Nancy, came here tonight hoping to hear how she is doing, I hope all is well with her. Nancy will keep you in my prayers.

Saint you are a real trouper, you sure did do it...so proud of you, girl. Many people lifting you up in prayer. May Our Lord give you the courage to go on and comfort you with His Blessed Assurance that He is close and that you are never alone HE IS WITH YOU. Yes you are the only one that can do what has to be done but don't forget God's Promise to us " I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR WILL I FORSAKE YOU". Trust that HE is right there with you. We are never alone in our trials, May GOD bless all my sisters tonight with a restful sleep and sound mind.

Saint & I visited this morning over the phone.

She is in good spirits, despite pains in her leg today. Her treatments are to be every day, five days in a row, M-F. Her ride to the hospital today was going to require a 'longer' day -- as the driver is going for her own treatment, and it was earlier in the afternoon than Saint's. Hope that makes sense.... in any case prayers for endurance for the day's length for Saint, and the length of the daily drive, too. Riding in the car is a challenge, with her eye-sight.

Her husband, Greg should be landing in FL right about now for his father's funeral. Pat has "forbidden" me from going tomorrow. LOL. Which is so cute don't ya think? Pat doesn't want me even riding that sort of a distance (again.) So our compromise is to have my DH go-solo tomorrow and represent the two of us. My parents are coming here this afternoon, they can "babysit" me.

This will be my parents first time to see me, post-surgery, and I know they will be 'scrutinizing' my every move/non-move. Hopefully I'm up to their supervision. LOL. Our plan is for them to spend the night.

Saint's sister is to arrive dinner-time, via bus from Chicago airport. They have someone to pick her up from the bus-stop.

    Keep the prayers coming.

I'm over 48 hours away from having taken HALF of that pill and today it 'just' feels like I have an awful bout of morning sickness.

Faith..so sorry you are having a bad reaction to Effexor! I was woozy on it the first time I took it, but changed to taking the Tamoxifen in the AM, Effexor at night, and I seem to tolerate it much better that way. I hope you can find resolution soon.

And give Saint cyber hugs and prayers...

Jeanine, you have been on my mind! Was praying for you recently as we had not heard from you in a short while.  Godd to see you here, and think positive PARP thoughts!!

Nancy....still praying for you and hoping to hear you are coping like a trooper!

Estepp....hope you had a blast...and wish I were there!  BAH!!

St. Peregrine, St. Agatha, you know I lift all my sisters up in prayer. Bless them, intercede for them and their intentions and let them feel the warmth of Christ in their hearts, minds and souls!

Much love, prayers and cyber hugs to all!

    God Bless!

This prayer is for Jen (Pure) and all of the beautiful ladies who struggle at times with this disease.....my prayers are with all of you.

    Dear St. Peregrine,

    I need your help.

I feel so uncertain of my life right now.

This serious illness makes me long for a sign of God's love.

Help me to imitate your enduring faith when you faced the ugliness of cancer and surgery.

Allow me to trust the Lord the way you did in this moment of distress.

I want to be cured, but right now I ask God for the strength to bear the cross in my life.

I seek the power to proclaim God's presence in my life despite the hardship, anguish, and fear I now experience.

O Glorious St. Peregrine, be an inspiration to me and petitioner of these needed graces from our Loving Father.

    Amen.

Catching up on the posts...been working 10-hour days this week so I can have Friday off for my husband's surgery (stent placement in narrowed left leg artery to increase blood flow).  Praying all goes well.  Need to save my PTO time for my exchange...hopefully sometime this spring.  Waiting to hear from my PS...

Saint, I'm so happy to hear your first treatment went well and pray it's a success.  Prayers to St. Lucy and St. Anthony.  Faith, thanks for keeping us updated, and I hope you're feeling better.

Praying that your recuperation is going well, Nancy, and that you'll be back on this thread again soon.

Glad to hear you had a great sisterhood weekend, Laura.  Looks like you have quite a group already for fun times in Vegas again. :)

Lord, hold us in your arms, comfort and guide us, give us strength, heal our hearts and our bodies if it is your will.  Thank you God for your daily gifts and for the gift of the support we get here from our BCO sisters.  Jesus, in your name I pray.  Amen.

I'm home! Thank-you ladies for all your prayers. I'm sure they helped and will continue to help me in my recovery, All I can say about things right now is that it was a HARD surgery and long. But things are looking good.

faith, I'm on the Januray 2010 Recon thread. Since this was a delayed recon (mx was 18 months ago), that seemed approriate.

For Siant. My favorite prayer which I save for special occasions. It's simple, one of the first taught to little children, but it always gives me strength:

    Prayer to my Guardian Angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side
To love and guard, to rule and guide.
    Amen

I feel that my guardian angel has been working overtime lately, as I'm sure Saint has, too. But we make their job easier by tackling our problems with the right frame of mind.

YAY Nancy!  You are also very welcome to join us on the Sept Nola thread........it's  NOW really sept and beyond, waaay beyond! and not everyone had their perforator flaps(DIEP or otherwise) even at Nola  BUT there are tons of delayed recon and several just recent that you can compare notes w/.  Honestly I felt like I turned a corner at 6 weeks post stage one...so be gentle w/ your fabulous new self!  Lots of my august /sept stage one friends felt hugely better at 4 weeks tho.  Glad you're happy so far.  It will keep getting better!

Not sure who is having effexor issues......I've been on for....10 mos or so now?  here is what i was told AND I believe.  It is a GREAT drug!  BUT it takes  a few weeks for it to do it's magic and help w/ the symptoms...the crying, etc.  You MUST take it religiously.  By 2-3 weeks you will start to see a difference.  By 4 weeks you will feel better.  My initial instructions were take w/ food or  a meal...but I'm horrible now and take most of my am meds on an empty stomach.  the first week-2 weeks...YES, I DID feel a bit weird, stomach, head......BUT it got better...I take the XR so haven't ever had the potential effects from missing a dose or forgetting and not taking until 5 pm or so?  HANG IN THERE!  Having a good counselor helped immensely too.  DO THIS if you need to...it's OK!

Ok, sorry to be so FULL of advice!  sound like a self appointed know it all!

prayers for all you lovelies!  Continued intercessory prayers St's agatha and st Peregrine.

LADIES they are celebrating the feast of St. Agatha in Sicily this week......Join me there next year for topless sunbathing?...maybe the sunbathing someplace nearby on the mediteranean?  It will be a pilgrimage and I won't have to protect the scars from sun by then!  woo hoo!  LOL!

I am also happy to report my voice is back...it was MIA for a week!  nasty viral stuff going around!  Take your vitamins and wash your hands....Nancy stay away from crowds girl!  Ok, stopping telling people what to do now!  Have a great wednesday!

Ok ladies, I just rec'd a phone call.....my friend from Catholic Biblical school, Susan, who is in my discussion group....picture of health, beautiful, humble, a saint, is a personal trainer, 50 yrs old she was going for an ultrasound last time I saw her almost 2 weeks ago....I happened to think of her this am and text messaged her because I was curious to know how things went.  She texted me back and said she'd find out this afternoon.  I told her about St. Agatha and told her I'd been thinking of her and praying for her.  Just got off the phone w/ her........she just learned she has BC....... we think early, apparently her MD's cell phone was cutting in and out and we all know how or breath gets carried away when we hear the news for the first time.  She is to meet w/ her doc in the am but  Uggg.....sinking feeling for her......big honor/ego trip for me as she said she didn't know if there was such a thing as a BC mentor but she'd be needing me and felt God had put her sitting next to me for a reason in our class.  She is So sweet!  I started that class the week before I left for Nola for stage 1 PBM and DIEP and she knew about that and said she was so impressed w/ how UP I was.  Anyhoo.......that is my prayer request don't be surprised if we don't have a new recruit. after a bit of time, coping, breathing and taking the reality all in.  I told her I was SO sorry she had joined this club but that in a strange way I had so many blessings and honestly don't know if I would want my life to be like it was before BC after we had talked about some other things.  Anyhoo....Thanks ladies!

Ladies, if you would be so kind to add someone to your prayers?  Her name is Sandra and she has cancer, but not breast cancer.  It's smooth tissue cancer, they just found it and tests yesterday confirm, that not only is it cancer, but it's in her shoulder, through the muscle, tendons, wrapped around arteries and has invaded one lung.  It's totally different from breast cancer, so we have no idea yet what kind of chemo she will do, or what they will do for it.  I hope you don't mind that I asked, since it isn't breast cancer, but prayer is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to you all in advance.  I lurk mostly now, but do come in and check the thread for prayer requests and you all continue in our prayers :)

God Bless and keep you :)

    Hi Ladies-

Nancy so good to see you back and I so happy you are doing well!

Apple so glad you got your new property, prayer works! What a wonderful new journey for you!

Jacqueline so good that you came by and shared that special prayer..it is wonderful and it really spoke to me. I continue to struggle with this issue and feel weak and stuck many times. I met with our priest yesterday and really encouraged me to do Adoration on a regular basis so will add this to my healing routine and I appreciate all of you so much and your prayers.

NJones - I am just filled with light when I see your posts you have so much to share and I am thankful for your presence.

Jeannine I still pray for you each day and I was so comforted by your dream thank you so much for sharing.

Saint and Faith - am posting another prayer to our Mother of Perpetual Help:

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke Thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let Thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on Thee, for, in all my needs, in all my temptations I shall never cease to call on Thee, ever repeating Thy sacred name, Mary, Mary.

O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fill my soul when I pronounce Thy sacred name, or even only think of Thee. I thank God for having given Thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name.

But I will not be content with merely pronouncing Thy name let my love for Thee prompt me ever to hail Thee, Mother of Perptual Help.

    Recite ( 9 Hail Mary's)

Additional prayers for Sandra, Susan and Kate!!!

Thanks again for your prayers for Cathy S. she is having her 2nd craniotomy this week and will start a vaccine trial so doors are open.

Be Well and come back often to share!

Laura and Angel your consistent uplifting spirit here is a true blessing

    copied from other thread:

Just spoke with Saint. She's now completed three of the treatments.

The riding both ways is a lot to begin with. She lays down in the back and attempts to sleep.

She said the techs were rushed today, but still kind. We laughed that they now see her as an 'old timer' not in need of such delicate TLC as the first couple of visits.

Her sister Mo has indeed arrived safely and they are getting caught up. Mo went on the field trip to the hospital today and of course that was an enormous support.

My husband is still with her husband down here in FL as today was the funeral for her FIL.

My parents just departed our house for their-own and I know that they are 'encouraged' to see me up and about and looking/acting like myself.

It's been a very busy day in the land of Saint&Faith. We are both delighted at the progress of the other..... I am less & less effected by Effexor (no, will never, ever, ever take any more, no matter what) and she is making it thru this treatment one day at a time.

Which of course is as it must be.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Prayers to all of my BC sisters out there. I could use some myself. I just went for my mamo and ultrasound on Wednesday, and have to have a biopsy done on the 17th. They found a 5mm "mass" on my ultrasound, but only when they did it a certain way. It's very close to one of the ducts, on my one good "boob". I've been prone to fibrocystic tissue, and had a biopsy done on the same breast in just about the same area. The doctor was going back and forth on weather to keep an eye on it, or have it checked out, but with my cancer history, biopsy here I come! I'm figuring if it was that bad, they would have rushed me in like they did with my first one, when they found my cancer. I'm trying to think positive, but I'm freeking out! I'm hoping to have some good luck with this one, since it's being done on Ash Wednesday, and at a Catholic Hospital. The person who was setting it all up for me was even going to look into if there is going to be a Priest there giving out ashes.

    Thanks all!
