I pray to St. Perergine, St. Agatha, and St. Lucy to intercede for our special intentions with Our Heavenly Father. Please grant my sister Barbara, Saint, Jeannine, Apple's brother, and CathyS. peace, comfort, and hopefully a miracle. Amen.

And I pray for Jacqueline's special intention.

Apple, I love that hymn. And I love that question to God.

Just before I was dx, a resident priest in my parish gave a sermon that really struck a note with me. His sermons always have depth and meaning...and he delivers them well. In this particular sermon he talked about what dying meant to him...what his faith told him it would be like. He surmised it would be the ultimate feeling of fulfillment. That all out lives, we are searching for fulfillment...in our personal relationships, in our careers, in our private goals...yet however successful we are, the feeling of complete fulfillment eludes us. But with our death, we would be in God's presence and finally feel the ultimate fulfillment...the ultimate joy. So no matter how wonderful our lives are here on earth, if we keep the faith and die in Christ, we will experience something even more wonderous and fulfilling.

    That gave me such peace.

I just wanted to add a clip from YouTube of Saint's DD: "Cinderella" singing a duet with her father. Greg had organized the Faculty Follies as a fundraiser for the high school drama club's upcoming Scotland trip. The Follies were a fundraiser for the kids.

Saint's family has no resources to send Cinderella and we have been 'passing the hat' here among BCO sisters. We have now collected over $1000 -- which is half of what the family is expected to contribute toward the trip. If anyone is in a position to send a check (or uses paypal) send me a PM and I will send you their address.

Saint's daughter & husband are singing a duet of, "I Love to Tell the Story."

I hope that you can make this clip work:

I feel so bad, I didin't make it to Ash Wednesday Service today, but I did go to Mass last night. I am giving up Doritos and chocolate for Lent.  Question:since there are only 40 days in Lent are the weekends exempt from what we gave up?  Someone told me that. Really.

Also I was introduced to a nice site call Mission Bell today, the site has various novenas and prayers and they also have a group of people with cancer that they pray for every day as well and there is a monthly Novena for those who suffer from cancer each month from the 9th to the 17 which I just missed.

Apple , I hope that all goes well with your brother.

Apple, I'll keep your brother in my prayers.

Tarry, Sunday is the only day durning Lent that all bets are off. If you count the number of days between Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday, and subtract out Sundays, it should add up to 40 days. So you can have as much chocolate and Doritos that you want on Sunday.

Went for my biopsy yesterday. I think the mental part is worse than the physical part of it. I'm just a little bit sore from it, but with a little help from a Tylenol every few hours, it's not bad. The Doctor said I should have the results by late tomorrow afternoon. Just keeping my fingers crossed, and doing alot of praying. They ended up taking 6 different "samples". The last two had blood on them, so they're not sure what that is. The other 4 looked like it was fibrocystic tissue and fluid from a cyst.

The funny thing is I had it done at a Catholic Hospital, and while my husband was is in the waiting room, he was wondering why people were walking around with "black smuges" on their foreheads. He said he was so involved with what was going on with me, he totally forgot that it was Ash Wednesday. Guess in his own little way, he cares!

    the house?

We close on Monday.. the bank has been driving us nuts with requests for documents... I've driven out there 5 times in the last couple days and was planning on going to Mass this morning, but no.. I have to drive to the bank for the final time hopefully.

I've started a little blog to document the process of building.  Some people will find it interesting.  My husband first will knock out most of the interior walls because they're stupid (no halls for instance),

    http://stevermercompanybuildingblog.blogspot.com/

I am exhausted from music preparation.. I just did a wedding, and then Ash Wednesday last nite, and 2 services this Sunday.  It's difficult to pray when I am wigging out because I haven't had time to learn properly.

Maybe I can fit Mass in tomorrow.  Still my prayers are with you all.

Welcome Tarry so nice to have new voices here!!

Apple I am sooooo happy for you with your new property, I just looked at your blog and just felt such an excitement for you! This is also one of my dreams to do this with a large piece of property and just make it my own. We are working towards something similar as well.

Prayers for your Brother this am, I pray he has a negative result!

I pray that everyone is doing well this glorious Thursday!  Tweetybird - I am not an expert (nor do I play one on TV)  Wink  the 40 days of Lent do not include the Sundays during Lent.  In the early days of the Church fasting was prohibited on Sundays so the Church added 4 days of fasting - Ash Wed, Thursday, Friday and Saturday after Ash wednesday.  Lent ends on the evening of Holy Thursday, the Good Friday vigil.

I actually haven't had any since before my surgery on 1/28, couldn't drink while on the antibiotics afterwards, so I'm making it an ongoing thing. Considering I used to have about a bottle a week (4-5 glasses), and I do really like it, it's a big sacrafice for me. Since I drink beer and hard alcohol much less frequently (like once a month or less), I'm not counting that in this abstinence. And I'm limiting my chocolate intake drastically...emergency use only, lol. So that's about 2-3 Dove squares a week.

sigh.. my baby bro has leukemia probably, lymphoma maybe.. further tests will define it.  He's had a rough road recently.  He has five kids and about 4 years ago, his wife up and left them all.  She is still in their lives but he is totally responsible.  One of the things he insists on is a Catholic education.

Anyway.. thanks for your prayers.  He must be 41.
