played the organ this morning at Saturday Mass and had the privilege of receiving the Anointing of the Sick.  My pastor does this once a month.

I prayed for all of you.

    Good morning my sweet sisters,

Does anyone remember the poem, or saying that is a positive way of looking at fasting--something like fast on being mean (not in those words) maybe one of you guys know what I am talking about.  Blessings to all !  xo

This is probably not what you are looking for.  I love poetry and have many books and remember this one.. I luckily found it on the nets:

Ash Wednesday by T. S. Eliot

Because I do not hope to turn again
    Because I do not hope
Because I do not hope to turn
Desiring this man's gift and that man's scope
I no longer strive to strive towards such things
(Why should the aged eagle stretch its wings?)
    Why should I mourn
The vanished power of the usual reign?

Because I do not hope to know again
The infirm glory of the positive hour
    Because I do not think
Because I know I shall not know
    The one veritable transitory power
    Because I cannot drink
There, where trees flower, and springs flow, for there is nothing again

Because I know that time is always time
And place is always and only place
And what is actual is actual only for one time
    And only for one place
I rejoice that things are as they are and
    I renounce the blessed face
    And renounce the voice
Because I cannot hope to turn again
Consequently I rejoice, having to construct something
    Upon which to rejoice

And pray to God to have mercy upon us
And pray that I may forget
These matters that with myself I too much discuss
    Too much explain
Because I do not hope to turn again
    Let these words answer
For what is done, not to be done again
May the judgement not be too heavy upon us

Because these wings are no longer wings to fly
But merely vans to beat the air
The air which is now thoroughly small and dry
Smaller and dryer than the will
Teach us to care and not to care
    Teach us to sit still.

Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death.

    Thanks Apple so moving!

I was doing so well, still going to adoration daily but gave in on the sugar yesterday after over a week. Sometimes I use it like caffeine when I am so tired then I just guzzle sugar (m and m's) this time. I need to get right back on it and will!

Prayers to St. Peregrine, St. Agatha, and St. Jude, for Barbara, Apple's brother, Cathy S., Natalia, Saint and our own special Jeannine.

Ladies today I went on a fundraising walk for Students supporting brain tumor research. What a sad event and many had passed! I pray to give hope to families with children suffering brain tumors. This is a special group that needs intercessory prayers as in many cases hope is low. It was sad as it was not an energetic event nor the marketing of "kommen" etc.

Please keep our family (my DH) in your prayers as he is low and not a lot of progress, however God does provide and some tensions were eased this last week with a bonus paid out.
    God Bless all of you.

    Michelle

God bless you all my sisters and your families,

I found the peice I was looking for, I do not know who wrote it.

Fast from judgment, Feast on compassion
Fast from greed, Feast on sharing
Fast from scarcity, Feast on abundance
Fast from fear, Feast on peace
Fast from lies, Feast on truth
Fast from gossip, Feast on praise
Fast from anxiety, Feast on patience
Fast from evil, Feast on kindness
Fast from apathy, Feast on engagement
Fast from discontent, Feast on gratitude
Fast from noise, Feast on silence
Fast from discouragement, Feast on hope
Fast from hatred, Feast on love
What will be your fast? What will be your feast?

    Dear sweets! Hello!

I want to add my prayers to your lovely ones here.. You are beautiful women.

If there are any "lurkers" out there reading... please stop by and say hello!

It is just awful about Chile. So many natural disasters. Father save us.

    Come Holy Spirit Come....

Apple.. how is your brother taking the news? Is he dealing?  I forgot, does he live here (  where Apple and I live).. is he married?

Father, Help our stage 4 sisters... I ask for a cure for breast cancer, all stages...

St. Peregrine, you prayed for me without stopping. I forever thank you and ask you to pray for the women here on BCO with your amazing determination. Your prayers for cancer patients are heard and we know this. Thank you !

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Ladies... I want you all to have an AMAZING March!

Hi Ladies.  Continuing to keep you all in my prayers.  Lots of stress lately, so DH and I went to our ocean beach cottage for a much needed getaway this weekend.  Went for a nice two hour walk on the beach today and enjoyed the calm weather with blue sky and sunshine!  Minor tsunami scare warning Saturday from the Chili earthquake, but thankfully it was called off.

Received fantastic news recently that my Exchange surgery is finally scheduled for March 31.  So excited!!  DH has shoulder surgery this Friday and will be off work for 6 weeks so we'll be spending some recuperation time together.

Lord, I pray for Apple's brother, Michelle's husband finding a new job and uplifting spirits, Saint, Nancy and her sister Barbara, Laura's business, and Jeannine's trial.  St. Peregrine, thank you for your intercessionary prayers on behalf of all cancer patients.  In Jesus name I pray.

God bless you all ladies. Hang in there and keep fighting and praying!

    ~Jan

    Dear Catholic friends.

Our sister Saint's birthday is approaching. I am attempting to 'shower' her with birthday cards. If anyone is willing to send her a card, please PM me for her address.

Her birthday is March 9th -- so there's still plenty of time to act.

I think this will be a great demonstration of love-in-action.

***Think of it as your Lenten assignment.

    Thanks, sisters.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

    Strength and courage.

    Hi sweet sisters,

I was examined by my wonderful breast surgeon, and she feels the pain and fullness is a result of rads.  She did not find any lumps, so I fell alot better.  She does want me to have mammo and ultrasound.  I still have anxiety.  It is amazing to me how fast the feelings of dread come back for me.

I will continue to pray for all of us, You guys are the best!! xo Prayers for your bro, Apple, and job for mmm5 husband that is fulfilling and will help family financially.  Prayers for anyone else I may have missed. xo

Fear and Sadness... Loss can take us all. It comes up so fast. It is uncontrollable. Today has been a horrid sadness day for me. Sometimes I wonder how I got through 1 1/2 years of treatment being so UPBEAT to everyone.

I pray for all of us who suffer so. Father, please hear us. I lift all cancer patients up in prayer today. Please hear our prayer. Amen.
