Well good morning marlegal! Definitely smiling now0 -
Mar, It's perfectly fine if you use George as a flotation device.0 -
marlegal: those are some fine guys! Maye we can send them to LV next year with us because maybe they are the cure guys.....and all of us can take advantage in one spot.0 -
beatmon, I like the way you think! No surprise there of course do y'all know that beatmon and I got to meet in Vegas?0 -
I'd be happy to float on the Bradley Cooper floatation device.0 -
LOL, Eph.0 -
I LOVE Chambord!0 -
Excuse me breaking in here, but we are looking to show your faces, names and quotes at our fundraising event in October (www.rockforbreastcancer.org), and would love your help. This event is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and we'll be joined by hundreds of generous donors.
Specifically, we will have two projector screens up during the event, and want to show the people attending the event YOUR faces--- the women of our community, the women who use and rely on BCO ! Having the opportunity to share your photos and quotes that night will reinforce to our donors, in a meaningful and personal way, just how vitally important their contributions are to our community.
For this, we are looking for people willing to share a photo of themselves (either alone or with family, friends, pets, other BCO members, etc.), allow us to use your first name, say where you are from (it can be from anywhere in the world!), and give us a quote on how important BCO is to you. We are looking to have at least 40 people and have (only) a few weeks to work on this.
If you are interested, could you please email Melissa at mjenkins@breastcancer.org, with your photo, first name, where you live, and your quote? Also, PM us if you have any questions!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us!!

luvmygoats, I don't know if you care to put your anonymity aside, but I think you should submit a pic WITH YOUR GOATS!
I don't even show my face on here, so this isn't for me. Mar, you could feature yourself with some of the Ta-Ta Sisters. Got any with Elvis impersonators? You face is well known with the Philly gang already, you being a spokesmodel and all.
Put your best face forward, all you Middies who decide to represent.0 -
Wow! How did I miss this thread? I hope you don't mind if I join in on the fun.0 -
Welcome, cakes! Congrats on finishing with the radiaiton. How did your skin hold up?0 -
Welcome Cakes these ladies are wonderful!
Elimar I love the KFC and Chambord but George still buts a smile on my face!0 -
Eli, I'll write to BCO, but can't use pocs from recent gathering. A couple of the ladies are super sentitive about privacy andI haveto respect that...drat! I have a couple of me and my roomie though that might work.
Luv, I think the goats would be great!0 -
ok, I don't want to sound too dumb, but is chambord a perfume? Sure looks like it in that pic.
katl, did you mean to say george's butt puts a smile on your face?
Did anyone else see that segment on Today about how women get more adventurous after a bc diagnosis? I was like well, of course. I have been hot air ballooning and zip lining and am open to lots of new ideas. (fotation devices?) I went to a dr appt with my friend with stage 4 BC today and we were talking about something and she said well, what's it (whatever we were talking about) going to do, kill me? I laughed so hard I thought my iced tea was gonna come out my nose. For such a serious day we sure laughed a lot.0 -
Maca, I had the same thought about the chambord, but a vague memory tells me it is raspberry liqueur. Personally I stick to red wine. I am glad you and your friend laughed, but so sorry she is dealing with stage 4.
Cakes, WELCOME! The more the merrier.0 -
Today is 1 year from surgery and thanks to all you it really does feel like the distant past .Have a great day everyone.0 -
-
Happy anniversary, Loral.
Welcome, Cakes.
I agree, Maca. More adventurous, but also less likely to put up with stuff. I don't stand for bad behavior or hurtful talk. I'll call people out on it now as before I was to afraid to offend someone who had offend me.0 -
Loral, a very happy cancerversary to you and many more to come.
The Chambord is a French raspberry liqueur. Long before I ever tasted it, I got one of the bottles at a garage sale. This was back when it had a crown-thingy on the top and looked like a soverign's orb. (Stick around and who knows what kind of trivia tidbits you will pick up.)0 -
Happy happy Day Loral!
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I actually have my last reg rads today and start with the 5 boosts tomorrow. My skin is holding up ok but I was informed by the RO to expect some discomfort going forward as the tumor bed is directly behind my poor nipple. Funny how one can write nipple online and not feel weird about it. LOL!0 -
Typo's can sure get you into trouble............however, everything about George would put a smile on my face! Smiley face!0 -
Loral I was thinking so much about George that I forget to wish you a Happy 1 Year......way to go! (((HUGS)))0 -
happy one year milestone, moral
Oh, I see now, the chambord is the fruit addition to the meal.
Meece, yes, I also don't take people's stuff or get upset about people or things I can't change. The energy I expended to live with drama and chaos was a lot of wasted time, I want to enjoy today. Whatever is going on.0 -
ha ha, autocorrect turned loral into moral.
Barsco, you still looking for our morals?
Hey eli, when is the surgery? Thinking about you, baby!0 -
Cakes, welcome aboard! Regarding your comment, "Funny how one can write nipple online and not feel weird about it," get ready. You will likely read lots of stuff here that you would normally not see in print! No holds barred...you will also experience women talking about their diagnosis, prognosis, psychosis, including graphic details. AND their fantasies, dreams, desires. It doesn't get much more "real" and visual than this!0 -
katl, like your avitar, putting the best foot forward?
Cakes, welcome. Congrats getting thru most of rads. Yeah, the boosts and a couple weeks after were the worst, so give yourself the time to relax and heal. You're almost done!!!!!!!!0 -
I think Barsco only looks for her morals in the spring. LOL. We better watch out or we'll give her a bad reputation like some of those girls I knew in high school. (For the newbies - Barsco hunts for MORELS in the spring - related to mushrooms)
Welcome Cakes to the place none of us want to be but we come back because we like each other. Congrats on being mostly done with rads. Lube, lube the baby. I worked all the way thru rads, hospice nurse. Fatiguing yes, but doable.
Congrats Loral on your one year and may it fade ever more distantly into the past.0 -
cakes, Yup, it a regular 'Nipple Monologues' around here. My lump was in the 6:00 position right below the nipple, so my nip was in the boost area. My boost area was the only area that did a little peeling, but that was when it was all over
mac, My surgery is coming up on Oct 17. I'm second that day, which means a reasonable 8 a.m. check in, supposed surgery at 10 a.m, so I should be getting it by (snark!) 1 p.m., and it is a two hour surgery. Only one incision spot and rumor has it no icky drain. I think I can breeze thru' this. Reminded my surgeon to "put things back the way he found them" and to make sure wake up. I've come so far to quit living at this point, so it's very crucial that I wake up. Will be sure to mention that to the anesthesiologist tomorrow at my 2 hr. pre-admission bore-a-thon.0 -
Hoping all goes well for you Eli!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Eli - love your sense of humor! Good luck on your surgery.
I think I'm going to like it here. I don't know if the humor is so grand because we are a little older and wiser and say it like it is or if we just don't have a filter anymore. LOL!
Take care Ladies
P.S. I love Chambord in champagne!0
