I forgot to mention that at a meeting last night I was mistaken for a woman that is 20 years my senior (now that my hair has come in 1/2 grey). I guess now I look as old as I feel. Sheesh!

J - My hair turned naturally gray/white beginning in my early 30s. DD born when I was nearly 35. Can't count the # of times while she was in elem. school I got called her grandma. (((HUGS))) Your hairdresser will never tell if you color it.

Elimar - I tried to post that but none of mine would come out but I did find this (although I think they don't make it anymore at least certainly not in USA). Vegie and fizzy at the same time. Water Salad is a Coke product.

I forgot to say (back when we were talking missing brows and lashes) that I had to renew my license this year...now that's a fetching look for the next six years!

jcolford, who made that mistake? Oblivious man or witchy woman? Your avatar pic looks nine times better than my license, so don't fret too much. That cocoa looks good too (typed as I sip my beef broth...blah,)

Are the Cucumber Water and the Salad Water NEW? I have not ever seen them and I would probably like to drink them (at least once.) I'd use them to wash down some Jalapeno Cheetos.

Why is it when, some years ago, we tried to envision the future for ourselves, hardly a one of us thought there would be cancer in it? I sure didn't!

El ~ thinking of you and wishing for the best! Remember I will be there for you in your pocket and I will continue to poke you until you wake up! Don't be a hero and try to come home too soon, take it easy and let the nurses pamper you for a little image

If you hear a buzz and feel the poke it's me telling you that you slept enough. Get UP!

    ((((HUGS))))

No I didn't see cancer, heart disease yes, but not cancer. UH maybe we don't want to see what's next.

Elimar - I found apple cider to be the best thing when I had my colonoscopy. Room temperature I could chug it down and good hot too.

Didn't tell you gals. Hit a deer in DH's truck yest. on way to Bible study. Front end kaput. Deer ran off but left his calling card hair in radiator. Lovely thing about small town. Sweet lady who with her DH owns small auto parts store U turned and pulled it to see about me. Drove me home since I could not raise the napping DH on the phone. I need to take her something. Ford dealer said about 2 weeks to fix it. DH was afraid ins. would total it out but did not cost as much as he feared. It is 10 years old but only about 98,000 miles. One of us will be driving his old truck that he has threatened to sell. Think if I'd hit it in my Equinox and not his F-150 it would have been in car with me - I think it was a good sized buck. DH has been back/forth on which ins. plan to chose at work. I think he took higher deduc. one. He thinks I should be able to see the future. NOT. Otherwise I would have taken the other road to town.

Luv ~ I hope you are ok, that was so sweet of the couple to give you a ride. I hope you are not too sore tomorrow.

I am having a colonoscopy on the 11th any tips you can give me? Not looking forward to it but (ha ha) it needs to be done.

Kat - Thanks for the well wishes; not really sore. Actually the airbag didn't even deploy. I had a colon. last December. The prep which kept me "hopping" was actually pretty easy. It was called Suprep - came in a box. Nasty tasting but easy on the gut. Like I wrote to Eli I could chug the apple cider in the amounts called for without any trouble. I had a barium enema years ago - yuck crampy prep and not much fun for the test. LOL. I actually got good sleep night b4. DH and I went shopping afterwards. I had propofol, the stuff Michael Jackson used (well misused) for his insomnia. Nothing to be afraid of. Out like a light and then wide awake again unlike the Versed used for surgery which is hard to wake up from - course surgery IS different. We put ours off a long time - DH 62, me 60. I was determined to get mine done last year since I was on 100% insurance coverage. Now if I can just talk my onco. into a bone density b4 the first of the year for the same reason. Betting it won't happen. Not due until next April.

E~ will keep good thoughts for you. Take it easy, gal.

Great Tigers game tonight, tied the series. Need to win tomorrow to take the lead before heading back to Boston. (sorry Boston fans!)

    Sleep well everyone. ♥

Well, BOLD doesn't work.... neither does Italic.... ummmm .... no spell check either, didn't use it anyway.... nothing on the toolbar works.

Eli, Best of luck today (it is already Thursday morning down here).

As for cancer, without really thinking about it that much, I always figured it would be in my future, since everyone in my dad's family has had at least one form of cancer and they have all died from cancer. When I was 12, I had my first breast cancer scare, because I found a lump in my armpit next to my itty-bitty, little boob. It turned out to be something non-cancer, but from a young age I had decided that if I ever did get breast cancer, I would be OK with a BMX.

    Good Morning everyone!

Thinking of you El .......my prayers are with you! (((HUGS)))

Wow Momine so young to have to worry about cancer you were just a baby. I found my first lump 3 weeks after I said I DO and was only 22.

I hope everyone has a great day!

The talk of apple cider made me recall that many years ago, when my girls were about 3 and 6, my mom had them for a few days. They told grandma that they wanted some apple juice, and, being the doting grandma, they went to the store to get some. Once home, glasses poured, my girls told grandma it "didn't taste like the kind mom buys." She had purchased apple cider vinegar! Talk about a good colon cleanse!

Thinking of you, Eli, as you face what I hope will be your last hurdle for a long while...

This is advertised as Better than Sex cake. It's been so long, I can't remember; I thought I'd bring some for the pocket party. PLEASE, don't get E's pocket all goopy :)

I trust you Eph. I am having trouble posting any pics here also. Wonder if there is a glitch with this site?

Eli - I will have some fresh apple juice for you when you feel like it. We took the apples from our trees in the back yard and got them pressed into juice. We underestimated the amount of juice that we would get and ended up with about 20 gallons more than we thought. Sooooooo if anyone else has a hankering for some fresh apple juice, come on over!

I am glad to have found this group. I am 51 and just diagnosed this summer with invasive ductal carcinoma. I had my mastectomy on July 31, 2013, and have gone back to work now. My youngest child just left for college this fall. It is hard to work and try to exercise and have energy to do it all. I so much have enjoyed reading about other survivors' stories.

Oh Barsco, sounds so yummy. I've never had fresh juice or cider. How many apple dishes can you make?

Joni - you inspired me to find the ingredients for "better than sex cake". I'm taking dinner to SS members tomorrow and this sounded so good. Chocolate, caramel, Eagle Brand, Cool Whip, chopped toffee - what could be better, right?

Better Than Sex Cake II Recipe

There are some technical answers the mods have put up. Something about turning off compatibility, but pics post OK for me same way as usual. I have never tried one of my own. DH got my avatar on here; that was one of my goats.

Welcome gagirl. We are a fun supportive bunch. Sorry that you had to join our group. Jump right in with both feet. Ask away.

Thinking about Eli and hoping maybe we hear something from her tomorrow maybe.

How far is Ontario from Southern Oregon barsco? The apple orchard I am addicted to had a very small crop this year & consequently we couldn't juice (very sad)

So goats, I'm glad you were able to find it AND get a picture posted. Hope the Sunday School class enjoys "Better than Sex" cake (hehehehehe)

gagirl, we are here for you. Glad you found us.

I too hope our fearless leader is able to rejoin us very soon...she's our glue.

Eli, been thinking of you all day. Hope you are awake and resting well. (don't bust a gut laughing)

    welcome gaggirl!

I saw the physiatrist yesterday. Very through and nice guy. He thinks I might have fibromyalgia. He wants me to see a rheumatologist to rule anything else out. He thinks we should up my dose of efflexor. He's going to be in touch with my PCP, so more will be revealed. I just would like to be able to bend and unbend my fingers and thumbs again without so much pain.

Go Sox!!!!!!! ( Diana, aren't you from NE?)

luv - that cake looks absolutely delish! As for apple dishes, I have done apple pie, apple sauce, apple crisp and we even canned some so that we can make apple pie in the winter. Just dump it out of the jar into the pie shell and bake.

Eph - I am not sure how far it is from you to me, however, I can guarantee you that there will definitely be some juice left when you get here. My freezer is half full of it.

mac - I'm afraid those cookies kinda creep me out. Can't imagine biting into one - gives me shivers. lol

Welcome gagirl - lots of great friends to meet here, as well as lots of support and knowledge to help you out whenever needed.

The lipo to fill the divits seen pretty good, but she said to expect some re absorption, and if that happens she can due another minor surgery to fill in.

I got my surgery date foe the pancreatic resection...Dec 3rd. Now just to get the motivation to go get the splenectomy vaccines. I'm planning on getting them before We go to Mexico for the month of November.
