Nashville looks like it will be a blast. Wish I could make it to one of these but the school year schedule doesn’t allow for that flexibility.

Falconer- I hope your bday was great!

I’m at least 7 pages behind but logged on when I remembered this was the trip week. Will try to catch up at some point.

Had an allergic reaction to a yellow jacket sting on Friday and left school by ambulance. That was a first. Doing fine now.

Able to do some water fitness and Zumba but still babying this Achilles and knee.

Ginger - scary about the yellow jacket sting. The main reason I look forward to retirement (in 4 or 5 years) is to have more flexibility to travel, especially to see my kids. I still love what I do.

Nashville gals - have a fun week.

Happy birthday, Pat! Looking good in Nashville, everyone!

Ugh, Ginger, that must've been quite the day. Did you know you were allergic to bees?

Lilac, how did your yoga class go?

Octo, when did you move to Santa Fe? That is a beautiful city!!

I went to my local yoga class last night. My $45 month long pass expires today; so tonight will be my last class there. I wasn't in love with the studio which is a bummer as it is five minutes away. I'll return to my beloved Shakti Yoga but it's about thirty minutes one way. Is it worth it for good instruction to travel that much?

Happy Birthday Pat! I hope you girls had a great day in Nashville! Asheville was a mess today! More flooding, down trees power outages and chaos! My back yard looks like a scene from The Walking Dead! DH rentals had to be evacuated again!

Before (a few days ago the last flood was just cleaned up!) And today!

Geez, what's up with all the weather. DH sent me a picture of the 6 plus inches of snow in our driveway.

Nashville had a nice, cool day. Natsfan, sweetandspecial, and I spent a very interesting morning at Andrew Jackson's Hermitage.

We all went to the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum, and then walked across the pedestrian bridge before eating dinner at B.B. King's and checking out some of the nightlife.

Pat, Happy Birthday! Love the photos - happy, fun and relaxed. Falconer, copy you on how important the studio space is. Last YTT week module starts on October 20th. Feel nervous and still getting lesson plan worked out. Knowing that hour final class will fly by yet, trying to keep it simple and so as not to run away - eek. Have a hips workshop to attend tomorrow afternoon and perhaps can add something from that - we will see.

I've rented a newly built community centre room starting November 6th - Tuesday afternoons (3-4pm) to teach a free yoga class for those living with cancer. Lovely one side of windows spilling in natural light, with light wood flooring. Could not pass this new space up and @ £15 an hour, it's doable. Flyers are being printed and will list it on the Macmillan site and see about a webpage that I can link off of our Pink Ribbon Pilates site - for online presence. Today 3 classes, Pilates, tai chi for Parkinson's and covering a 6pm BodyBlance/Flow class for a friend. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

We took a lunch cruise on the General Jackson Riverboat. Excellent food, excellent entertainment, and overall experience. Tonight we are off to the Grand Ole Opry.

Vargadoll, that is quite a lot of water everywhere. How are you today?

    Nashville looks good on y'all.

LB, the space you rented sounds lovely. Might have to pay you a visit there next summer!!

Happy Belated Birthday, Wonderland, Falconer and Pat!

Karen- sorry to hear about your uncle. Two losses so close together is even more difficult.

Natsfan- I like Nora Roberts as an author too. Cool that she has a b&b and store nearby.

Heidi-so glad you got your vote in. We are in rough shape over here. Thanks.

Varga- that flooding looks terrible. Glad it's cleaned up. These storms seem to be getting worse.

    Lilac- the space sounds beautiful.

Falconer- I found out I am allergic to yellow jackets about 15 years ago. This is my first sting since then.

Nashville ladies, itlooks like you’re having a great trip!

Ruth- 3 years ago my mom sister and I spent a week in Nashville when I was at a conference. My mom grew up in that area. We went to the old Ryman theater which was the original Grand Ole Opry. My mom sat in the same seat that she and my grandparents had when they used to go there over 65 years ago. We used to go to Tennessee for 1 week every summer for family gatherings. This was our first trip with my mom showing us some of the places she haunted as a child. I can still see the smile on her face and the joy in her eyes while she was sharing her memories with us. Priceless. Keep sharing your pictures.

We sadly said goodbye to Pat01 & Twohobbies, and headed to the mountains. First we took a very interesting Jack Daniels Distillery tour in Lynchburg. Here we are with Jack on the Rocks.

We then ate lunch at Miss Mary BoBos; a famous boarding house from the past which is now a restaurant with fun private dining rooms, family seating, good old southern food, a hostess seated with you and the other diners at your table, the story of the house's history are part of the experience.

Here's Jack Daniels motto; which I is pretty good advice, even if you aren't making whiskey!

It has started to snow in Denver, supposed to get 5 or so inches in the city, of courses more in the mountains. Yesterday afternoon, I "manned" a table for Wacol for the Cure. I put all my stuff under the table. Grabbed my purse and bag when I left. Totally forgot about my jacket till I was almost home. Was not about to go back and fight rush hour traffic. The mall is only about 20 minutes away but in rush hour it can take over an hour. Thought about going tonight after Shabbat but remembered I don't like driving at night. So I'll go tomorrow morning. Sure hope the roads aren't bad. Its mostly highway driving to get there, also not my favorite.

    Love the Nashville pictures....

I am home from the Nashville trip and the wonderful time with BCO sisters. Despite not doing any formal exercise, my Argus app still says 164 minutes of active exercise due to the steps. Scale is up only 1.2 lbs despite the Cracker Barrel, Hattie B’s Nashville hot chicken, Santa Fe enchiladas, etc, so not bad. Plus I topped it off with an asian meal at Big Bowl last night for my son’s birthday, which always puts me up due to the sodium content. I have lunch plans with two friends today so the eating continues. Next week I will eat better!

Octo I am surprised you moved to NM. I thought you were moving to Reno. Do tell. NM is on my list of places to visit again. I havent been since I was little girl.

I will get back to some formal exercise this morning. It is a beautiful fall day so I will be out on a hiking trail looking for fall color.

yeah, TwoHobbies, a lot of people, including me, were surprised when hubby and I moved to New Mexico!...Yes, we had planned to retire to Reno, where I have family ties, and in anticipation of hubby retiring next year bought a condo there as a vacation home/retirement home for when hubby retired. Our goal was to downsize: it was half the size of our California place. But then, as a friend said: I failed at retirement. A dream job came along, in New Mexico, I applied on a whim and with encouragement from the employer, and next thing I know, I am working in my field again! Now that I've had both knees replaced, I am feeling better than I have since, well, before the bc crap, and working isn't as daunting as it had been....

So, hubby happily retired a year earlier than planned, and we moved to New Mexico! I wasn't sure how long we'd be here: but we got here, hubby took a look around at the natural beauty, art, music, historical monuments, fantastic restaurants, realized Northern New Mexico (Santa Fe area) has a whole lot to offer, and announced he was never leaving! :-)

So, here were are...we sold the Reno place very quickly (hot market) and hope to sell in California soon (fingers crossed). We've downsized a lot, but I still feel like we brought too much stuff with us (happily, work paid for the move, which makes it even more of a dream job).

Northern New Mexico really is beautiful. We will see how I adapt to the weather: we are expecting our first snow tomorrow! (though Reno gets some snow too, in all fairness...)

The exercise ladies should come...it really is a great area to visit (or live).

And back to the topic at hand: this weekend unpacking seems to be my major exercise. Good for upper body strength, but I need a walk for cardio.

Vargadoll, I hope the flooding gets cleaned up quickly!

I'm back to say hello, I finally started feeling better from a cold that seemed to take forever to clear, went to visit DS in wisconsin and had a really good time not cramming too much into the trip. I even used the fitness center at the hotel, and had one of my best workouts post BC! LAyer that day my back started spasm ing (I think I looseneed up my previously restricted low back), but it took 4 days to settle down. A day after my back I got hit with a respiratory virus, that I am still battling. I took a few days off of work, and im.not sure if I will make it back tomorrow. Bummer!

I wish I was along on the trip. Only time I was in Nashville DS was looking at Vanderbilt. When the AC died in Kentucky I looked at a map and realized how far south we really were! (I've live on one of the great Lakes all my life but 3 years)

Don't know if it was the heat or the tour, but DS decided he wanted to leave ASAP. We never even ate a meal in nashville!

I'm thinking of all of you, sorry I'm too tired for individual shout outs.

I'm celebrating my birthday on election day. The year I was born it was also election day, so I want to challenge you all ,not only to vote, but help someone else get to.the polls and vote!

    Have a great day everyone!

octogirl- thanks for the explanation. I too thought you were moving to Reno. It looks like a lovely place.

Ruth and the girls- thanks for sharing the pictures. So glad you all had a wonderful time.

I did my one mile walk for breast cancer yesterday. I was expecting it to be difficult emotionally and it was. My friends insisted I walk with the survivors. It was very emotional several thousand women walking to the front of the stage with over 10,000 people cheering you on. I met many wonderful women. I'm also considering joining the pink Dragon club for rowing. I'm not so sure how it's going to work with my schedule because rowing training is Saturday mornings and weekend mornings are when I usually run my 5Ks. I skipped my fired up 5K this morning. I was to lazy to crawl out of bed at 5am. No regrets. Now I have to go to work. I will run 3 miles when I get home from work.
