Sorry, Jo, about your friend. I hope the memories of her lighten the heaviness of her passing.
Lilac, great way to rake it in.
Didn't get to take a walk yesterday and today. So it's been just yoga in the morning for two days now. My steps are suffering.

6 games pickleball today. Won them all. Yay!
The pouring rain we got this afternoon would have translated to about 18 inches of snow up north. Glad to be down this way. Had enough of shovels.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I dont know what is going to happen to her dog. It is too soon to make any decisions. My friend wanted me to keep Bella but I already have 6 dogs and 3 cats. Who am I kidding? If her grandchildren don't want Bella, she will be my permanet fur baby.

Oh, Jo, hugs to you. You were a good friend to her. It sounds like there was a lot of love between you.
Our snow, this time, was basically icy slush. We have seen all varieties of snow this winter, but OMG, thjs was the worst. Just a couple of inches but I could hardly shovel it, so I counted it as weightlifting today! They don't call it heart attack snow for nothing, so if anyone else gets the same batch, be careful. And I had to do it because my car got stuck in the driveway - just spun ice tracks underneath. My husband did part and I did the rest, so 25 minutes weightlifting and 21 minute walk at lunch.
Ruth, I'm starting to think our next trip may need to be to come dig you out in the spring. We had about 3 days of 40+ weather. Had we not, ours would be above the mailbox too. I still can't hardly throw it up high enough by the street.

jo, I am so sorry for your loss.

falconer-thank you. During the past 12 months most of us on this thread have dealt with significant losses. Through laughter and tears, we keep moving on.
Twohobbies and Ruth-You are tough. I think you both are ready for defrosting. What a miserable winter . Miami was 80 degrees today with sunshine.

lilac, 700 pounds is quite a haul, no? Congrats!
We were having freezing rain and sleet all day so I went home rather than working out. I guess I HAVE to go tomorrow.

I hope Bella can go to a relative of your friend, Jo. I agree you have enough on your hands.
We are a one-dog-family-to-be. The husky mix was given to someone else before my husband could decide. Now we are scheduled to pick up a sweet one-year old mutt from Romania on Friday and I'm just hoping there are no hitches before then. We were supposed to get him sooner but he ran out of the property of the rescue people and was missing for 5 days! He is recovering from his traumatic experience and was happy to see DD last weekend when she visited him.
Finally got a 3K run in. Plus some weights and yoga stretches.

The Walking Women walked inside but took advantage of all the snow for a photo op.

Wow! Please tell your friend that I love her green coat. Fun picture!0

I am keeping up with my daily walking vow by walking to the end of the building, down the stairs to the basement, up the 8 flights of stairs, back down one and back to my desk. Its a pretty good way to get some exercise on the cold days.
Ruth, what a snow mountain. Heidi congrats on your new dog-if he is still there by Friday!

Finally broke 15K today - nice long walk at lunch, walk after work and then walk after dinner - nice weather today - warm (50s) and sunny today, should be similar tomorrow.....then starts cooling off on Saturday into the 40s and 30s.....
Strike is still going on - tomorrow is day 4 - union and district still trying to work out an agreement - today they made progress but I haven't heard any updates since earlier this evening. I listened to the live stream this afternoon and it sounded good. I'm not sure I agree with everyone but I trust that the negotiating team has my best interest - one of the members of the team is a team mate, fellow SP so I know she has SPs interest as well.
Tomorrow evening we have a wedding - the girl went to school with my older daughter. We are friendly with the parents - hope to make it an early night!!! I tried on a black dress that I've worn before, but it didn't do anything for me - actually was NOT flattering at all - then I realized the dress is over 30 years old - it was my mother's and then I also work it a few times.....SO will probably wear a dressier black skirt and cream cardigan with "pearl" buttons. These days, I find it quite hard to get a dress that flatters me.
Sweet dreams.

Negotiation team worked through the night last night - 20 hours total and at 6 this morning the district and union came to an agreement so strike ended. Now it has to be ratified by union membership and approved by the school board. It is so nice to be back to normal!!!
We have a wedding tonight....Not really in the mood to dress up, but one we ave to show up to.
Have a great night.

Yea about the strike being over! Hope the wedding turns out to be fun.

with all the walking got 64 minutes of activity yesterday...helped offset the dinner. Food porn attached...top is rockfish over wild mushrooms, shrimp and snowpeas with a big dollop of butter infused with herbs on top, bottom is scallops - my go to at restaurants and usually not sooo calorie intensive!

Ruth...will try the prunes, ugh.
This means no more arimidex for me and last week my next 3 month shipment arrived! If anyone wants to PM me with their address, I would be happy to share my supplies that I no longer need...I have four unopened single month bottles.
Happy Friday, today we will hit 70, Sat/Sun 40 and rainy...can I skip school the rest of the day? TT

Gorgeous day here in Denver today - most of the snow has melted but snow is in the forecast for Sunday and Monday. The mountains are getting lots of snow and high avalanche danger is the southern mountains. Crested Butte got 13 inches in the last 24 hours. Even with the snow still drought conditions over most of the state.
Time to get ready for Shabbat dinner - everything is cooked, just need to clean up the pots and pans. Grilled chicken thighs, roast potatoes, mini portabello mushrooms, and asparagus.
Sweet dreams

Heidi, your dog now with you and family? Jo, has Bella found a home? I attended a funeral yesterday afternoon for a member of my yoga for cancer class. Helen's service was put together by her and can say I felt her throughout. She asked for bright colours (also optional), so was kitted out rather technicolor with red tights, and pink flowered coat. The statement written by Helen, read by the celebrant was touching and poignant, as was her son singing, That's Life.
BodyBalance this morning.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, LilacBlue. I like the way she went out. It feels good when a person arranges a good send off that brings smiles along with the tears.
Ran 3 and did weights today.

So sorry about your friend, Lilac. She sounds awesome. I recently went to a funeral for a musician. He planned his funeral too and it was awesome; from a big choir, soaring organ hymns, to a jazzy "When the Saints Go Marching In" for the recessional......totally wonderful, totally "him".
Step It Up & Dance for me today.

Lilacblue and wren- sorry for the loss of your friend but glad she went out the way she wanted to. My friends funeral service was today. For the most part it was a celebration of her life Her favorite color is purple so all the guests wore purple . She was an atheist and for the most part her beliefs were respected. There were few people who criticized her for a lack of belief in God and there were few who blamed her for her cancer. For the most part, friends and family celebrated a wonderful woman's life. She grew up dirt poor in rural Georgia during segregation. She and her husband couldn't have children so they adopted 4 children from a drug addict. They provided these four children (because the adoption was later in life she always called them her grandchildren) a beautiful upbringing and these individuals have become wonderful adults. They gave her what she gave them unconditional love. It was a mostly beautiful ceremony but it was painful as hell. I'm going to miss my friend. Tomorrow I have to driveto the West Coast of Florida to review wedding plans with my niece. Circle of Life. FYI: when I arrived home this evening I found 15 fraud credit alerts on my phone. While I was busy with the funeral, there was an individual busy with Uber, FTD, porn sites and also bought a $500 Amazon gift card on my card. Chase immediately removed the charges but we will see next week if the charges have been resolved. No exercise for me today.

lilac and jo, I'm sorry for your loss.
Did an hour on the treadmill at a faster than usual speed. 20 min of weights

Jo, ARGH about the credit card mess!! So sorry about your friend. My dad's favorite color was purple too. Without consulting each other, all the grandchildren wore purple (the guys purple ties & girls dresses) to his funeral; which I thought was so touching and cool. (And, on a side-note, he was buried in his favorite lavender suit-coat; he was a flashy dresser.)

Ruth-Lavender suit jacket sounds great. I love a man who makes a fashion statement.

I saved his tangerine colored suit-coat for sentimental reasons.
