Hello everyone, I can't believe it's been two months since I've logged on. December was pretty much a wash out for me as I was so busy at work that I think I only hit the gym two or three times, then came January I've been going to PT 3 times a week for sciatica and I also had a skin cancer removed from my nose and they took a graft from my hairline, it was done in a plastic surgeons office and to be honest the recovery was not pretty, for 10 days I looked like I had gone 10 rounds with Rhonda Rousy my face was so swollen I could hardly see as my eyes were glued shut from my eye swelling and he banned me from the gym as he was scared if I got sweat (or any water) on the graft it would not take so there went most of January I had an appointment with him again yesterday thinking it was my last but no I have to go back in two more weeks, I wouldn't mind so much but it's a 45 minute drive down there, both he and his staff are lovely but I hate the drive but he is the doctor my GP chose as he said he does the best work and yesterday I was like "why do I have to come back again" I can see I am healing yes it still looks nasty but his response was "you are the patient I'm worried about" well gee that made me feel great but at least he did give me the okay to go back to "gentle" exercise so I see light at the end of the tunnel. Now I need to go back and read 20 pages.

We are a hard bunch to keep up with. HappyDo what the doctor says, Cheryl. You'd hate to mess something up and make the recovery even longer! (I am sure this is driving you nuts! Hugs are being sent your way.)

What a great story about the gentleman who is the Vet. I love stories like that. Ice storm here today, have not done much at all. Going to do aerobics soon just needs some energy :).

Ruth- inspiring story about the Vietnam vet.

No exercise for me this evening. Im cooking a bunch of food for a friends repast tomorrow. My other friend remains in the hospital and she is struggling. Off and on today I have felt light-headed and dizzy. And I'm experiencing these symptoms in sitting and standing. If it continues I will call my doctor tomorrow. Other than that I feel fine. My CA 15 came back a 9 and it was 10 a week before I started chemo. I don't know if it means anything or not. I need to go back to cooking. Tomorrow I'll be back in good form and will run. Keep moving ladies

Ran outside today. Take care of yourself Jo, do you think you could be dehydrated? I can get like that if I haven't had enough fluids.Regardless, best to call the doctor.

Great story Ruth - sounds like the community center is truly a community, not just a "gym."

Cheryl - sorry to hear about the skin cancer

TimTam - yeah for good mammo results

Ruth - wonderful, inspiring story, thanks for sharing

Bitter cold and snow is back in Denver. We got several inches today and a couple more predicted over night.....temperature got colder as the day went on....when I left for work it was in the high 20's by mid morning 17 and now single digits. Bundled up in my snow pants and heavy coat and DH went for a walk when I got home. Another walk planned for this evening. Supposed to get to -1 overnight with windchill in the teens.

Left work super stressed. The dept of labor and the governor gave the teacher union the go ahead to strike. It is set to start on Monday the 11th unless the school district comes back to the table with a reasonable offer.....There is much support from community including parents for the teachers (rather than the school district). I sure hope there is a last minute offer that the union will accept and no strike!!

I have not been good about getting my steps in - lucky to get 10K - no walk before work or during the work day - need to get back on track, but I've become a wimp about the cold this year.

Claire - early birthday wishes - hope your celebration is everything you want it to be :)

    Sweet dreams and stay warm.

Take care of yourself Jo. ruthbru, thanks for sharing that story. TrmTam, glad the mammo results turned out well. hbcheryl, we need you in Santa Fe so listen to the doctor. And, you drive more than 45 mins for an exercise class so don't complain about the doctor!!! Okay, done fussing at you.

Did 30 min spin class today. Will keep at it and maybe build up to the 60 minute class though 30 mins is quite enough for me.

    Night sculpted friends.

karen- when will your school board get their act together? This is been an ongoing saga for your community. For your sake and the sake of the children I hope they get their act together and work out a deal.

Patoo-I finished cooking so now I'm perusing the threads. Been having difficulty sleeping lately. Maybe I'll take a Melatonin.

Mickey- I don't think I'm dehydrated but I have been drinking less water over the past several days. Upon seeing your suggestion I did drink three bottles of water. I'm definitely going to be more aware of my water intake. Since I've been spending a great deal of time at the hospital I've noticed my diet Pepsi intake has also increased. It's important for all of us to be very much aware of our fluid intake.

jo - new bargaining session set for 5 pm Friday...superintendent says there is Th, F, Sat and Sun to avoid the strike. and that she wants to do whats best for everyone!!! She is the new superintendent since January 1, but she has been with the school district for over 25 years. Mostly recently as deputy super for the past several years so she knows the history. I have no confidence in her.

Below zero temps in the morning....Most schools are open but may be on an hour late start. Roads will be awful as they were coming home from work and I left at 3pm, 1/2 early.

My bed is calling.....sweet dreams....stay warm

Oh Cheryl, hope this removal is it and so sorry to read of all the SE's. Did the new advanced training last week at LM HQ London. Liked it better than Aim2. Hugs to you Jo. Happy Birthday Claire! Ruth, as always, nice photo.

Today is DH & mine 21st. anniversary. We have dinner at cosy Michelin star restaurant in a nearby village tomorrow night to celebrate. Pink Ribbon Pilates Quiz Night is Saturday night and I'm still shooting around getting all ready for that. I've never been to a quiz night so on the learning curve. I think it will be a lot of fun and one team are wearing costumes - great! Must jump - get in gear to get this day going. Let's keep at it!

Snow/cold day called last night about 10:45....to be honest I really didn't want a snow day as the central SW/SP team (my team) was supposed to meet. We had to cancel our last meeting due to potential strike. I'm really hoping at negotiations tomorrow evening that an agreement will be agreed upon. This has been going on for 15 months - way too long.

It's frigid out right now -5F feels like -12. No plans to go anywhere today due to roads. I will find things to do in the house. And once it warms up a bit, I'll bundle up for a walk.

    Happy Anniversary, Lilac & DH.

Karen, I can top your weather. There's no school here either. We are getting about a foot of snow, the wind is howling, highways are closed, the air temperature is -8 and the windchill is -36! I think my 9:00 exercise class is still on so have to decide if I want to brave the elements & go to it or sit here in my warmest robe drinking coffee.

TT- glad the mammogram results were good! I did message with my surgery sisters while I was at my mammogram in December. It can be stressful and sometimes you just need "your people" to calm the storm! That said I'm 2 years NED today!

    Happy Anniversary LB and DH!

Jo- I usually drink 64-72 oz of water a day but when it gets super cold it's hard to drink water!

Karen- I'm so sorry that your school staff have to deal with such nonsense!

Ruth- bundle up! You are so dedicated! Love the photo and the story about the Vietnam Veteran. There's always room for a happy story!

Did some rebounding a few minutes ago, delivered MOW earlier (I do an apartment building and I get about 8,000 steps delivering meals while pushing my girl) I need to get outside and finish raking the yard while it's sunny!

Luckily I went to class when I did! Two hours later we had to snowblow and shovel the driveway to get out again & now everything is shut down. Just did a yoga DVD.

Ruth - I thought of you while I was raking my yard. I figured you were shoveling when I was raking! We actually got to 80 here today which is not very common for February. We start to cook down tomorrow. I took advantage of the sun couldn't miss that opportunity!

    Brrrr...Ruth!

    Lilac, Happy Anniversary!

TT, Glad the Mammogram was fine, and yes, Cheryl: I agree that we need you in Santa Fe so you need to listen to the doc!

As for me, I've been really busy the past two days, which is no excuse but I've been slacking off a bit thanks to some deadlines..However, I just booked a weekend in Disneyland with the grandkids and my son and daughter, in March, and that means: I need to be walking to be sure I am up to the many miles a typical day at Mickey's place means for me! :-)

    Hugs to all!

    TT: Congratulations on your mammo!

Cheryl: I know recuperation has been a pain for you, but I am so thankful the skin cancer was removed. Heart

    LB: Happy Anniversary!

Vargadoll: I love having 4 seasons. The last few days have been fabulous!

Hi All. Unlike the snow, temps in the minus numbers, windchill, etc., we have had highs in the 70s for several days. People are wearing shorts and tank tops. I I had a delightful walk/run late this afternoon. Enjoying it while it lasts because it all changes on Saturday when the high returns to the 40s.

vargadoll- when we have cold spells in the 40s and 50s they only last for a few hours. So I cannot use the cold weather as an excuse not to drink water. I believe I was distracted with life and I just neglected my water intake for a few days. Which is quite unusual for me. I usually drink a lot of water. I run in nasty hot weather so Gatorade and water are part of my daily routine. I ran earlier this evening. I have a 5k Saturday morning and a 10K Sunday morning.

Very funny Ruth! Thanks for the anniversary well wishes. We has a lovely dinner last night and bought this book, signed by the chief too! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Drugs-Sausage-Rolls-Garrett-Graham/dp/0955893046/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1549695435&sr=8-2&keywords=sex+and+drugs+and+sausage+rolls Have a bodybalance to teach in a bit and that quiz night at 7pm. Just remembered I need trash bags and hope I've got it all (but ya know, I will have forgotten something!). Onwards and can just see the sun rising, so a nice change from rain and wind.

hello all. I ran almost three miles last night and I did 40 flights of stairs this morning. I worked 1/2half a day. I'm at the hospital now visiting my friend. She's alert today without any pain so that's good. When I leave here I have to go to the groomers and pick up my 4 dogs. I also had my friends dog groomed and I'm going to take some pictures.

I have been striving to do a youtube challenge to adopt a Parisian lifestyle and eating habits. For exercise the idea is to walk everywhere rather than go all out and kill yourself at a gym like we are accustomed to doing. I was not sure how to adapt that to suburbia in the winter. I decided to walk every day and do yoga or weights two days a week. I did well this week but today I felt the need to go walk/run around the lake in the cold-the long way around. Needless to say, I ended up ravenous and was tempted by a double cheeseburger for early dinner, which broke my Parisian eating style! I proved to myself how deleterious this is to my eating habits. Still working on finding that balance.

Jo, glad your friend is feeling good today. Post a pic of your pretty dogs for us.

Ruth I loved the veteran story and yes that is so true about the snow fight. We are told not to blow our snow in the street, but why does the snowplow get to push it in our Driveway?

    Happy anniversary, Lilac.
