I love a man who isn’t afraid to wear color. DS always buys bright pink gloves - “For breast cancer, Mom”.

I had never thought of planning my funeral but I think it would be great to tell people how much they meant to me, have them play your favorite songs and serve Mexican food, of course.

Heidi i hope you got your dog. Let us know.

Took a cold walk at the lake yesterday. I didn’t walk around the full way but did 36 minutes. The trails are icy so I thought I would walk in the snow and it’s so hard I can walk on top without falling through, which is fun. We have a fluffy snow falling this morning again. I think that’s lays out my exercise plan-shoveling.

Here he is! He is cute and adjusting very well. He already knows how to sit and give her paw. She is not perfectly potty trained though so DD (our trainer) is working on this. She starts an exam prep course for med school tomorrow though so I hope this doesn't disrupt his progress.

Ran along a trail and my heart rate was an average 154 bpm whereas on the treadmill it was only 133.

    Heidi - pretty furbaby!

Temperatures are dropping in Denver and predicted to go below zero along with 2 - 4 inches snow. Will have to bundle up to walk tonight and in the morning, I'll wait till mid morning. I'm going for lab draws at 8:30 for my nephrologist appt in a couple weeks, so maybe I'll walk after I'm done.

    Stay warm and dry

Heidi- your dog has the look on his face "thank you for adopting me". What is his name?

I had a wonderful day spent with my niece and sister planning my niece's upcoming nuptials.

HeidiHill, what a pretty dog! Misty grey morning yet no frost. Mild temps here and holding through the week. The warmest and driest February in UK I've ever experienced. Have some chores to do before Pink Pilates this morning so off I go. Have a good start to the week everyone!

Candlelight yoga last night...a nice way to reset after the rush of the weekend before starting the week...with a bang as I wait for a plumber to repair/unstop our kitchen sink! It is always something. Hope to get to yoga and then taiji tonight. TT

Going to post first then scroll back and read! If I read I usually don't have time to post..lol

I did the Denise Austin Blast Away The Pounds DVD. It's the best work out in have found for that incorporates good stretches for my LE. The workout is about 45 minutes and gives me 3 miles worth of steps. Hope all are well as I go backwards to read from here!

the temperature will be in the low to mid-80s for the rest of the week. When it cools down this evening I'm going to go for a 3-mile run.

jo: I'm so sorry to read about your dear friend. She sounds like a wonderful person.

LB: I'm also so sorry to read about your friend and class member, Helen. I know you miss her and her personality.

Heidi: Sweet dog! So glad you have another one. They give us more than we give them.

Hi Everyone! Instead of snow, it's been cloudy, rainy. Although last week we had some really hot days. Even got out and did some yard work, specifically trimming. Well, I must have trimmed some nasty poison ivy because my arm now has a BAD poison ivy rash on it! It's so bad that I went to the walk-in clinic on Saturday to get some prednisone. It still looks terrible but I'm on day 3 of a 9 day course of steroids and I'm starting to finally feel better. UGH!

Walked/ran today. Had some sun in between the clouds.

Ran 3 miles outside in the snow today - was quiet and peaceful.

Wonderland, I used to live near in NC - near Raleigh. Weather was gorgeous. Returned to Ma many years back, but have several friends in the area and we have been back to visit. My DD had a soccer tournament there several years ago and there was a murder at the hotel we stayed in. The girls were besides themselves as were the parents. Some sort of love affair gone wrong as we later learned, so we were in no danger. Haven't thought of that in ages!

High in the teens today - wanted to walk this afternoon, but didn't get too as I was waiting for the neighbor girl scout to deliver my cookies and she never showed up. I'm so annoyed with her Mom - no follow through - the mom texted me around 3 and I texted back saying I'd be home in 1/2 - 3/4 hour and no reply back from the mom - mom has done that twice now - her daughter is only 7, so I can't blame her - but still I'm ready to buy from the girls at the grocery store - I haven't eaten girl scout cookies in 2 or 3 years, but my kids like them - buying to take to them. Both my girls were girl scouts and each sold cookies for 6 years - it was different then - took orders and delivered when they came in - now the girls have the cookies from the get go - so I don't understand why it is so hard to deliver them!!!

I still got 12K steps by pacing around the house - may do some more before bedtime.

Supposed to be cold all week and snow tomorrow night. I am taking 2 classes from work - this week was the only week they are on the same week - but the one tomorrow is postponed for 2 weeks so people can go to an Q/A about the new contract and to vote on it. Not sure if I'll go as it is 5 - 7 pm....and its across town from where I live. Just may ask a friend to fill me in.

Need some easy lunch ideas besides yogurt/cottage and fruit, hummus and pretzels, peanut butter packet or wraps. I don't make anything that needs to be heated up and I prefer lunches that are easy to eat!!! Ideas?

I'm just a tad bit cranky tonight - thanks for letting me vent.....

    Sweet dreams

Poor Wonderland. Poison Ivy is nasty stuff.

Mickey, my sister used to live in Wakeforest. She just moved to the Charlotte area last year.

This morning I had the dreaded annual mammogram; I won't get the official results for a couple days, but the technician said she didn't see any changes from last year so I'm going with that. I also walked the grandpuppies and went to Zumba. Before, in-between, and after all that.....I packed. Tomorrow 2 friends & I are flying down to Florida and spending the week with another friend who has a condo on the Atlantic side. We all met when we were new young teachers in 1975 and have been friends ever since. None of them caught the exercise bug, but as long as I can take an hour long walk on the beach every day, I don't care what else we do. Wish me luck getting through Dallas; the two hour layover has turned into 40 minutes.....yikes!

Hi all... I had mostly warm (for February) weather in DC while I was there for work so lots of walking....and since the hotel is at the top of the hill that was an exercise bonus! Now I am back in New Mexico, where it is snowing, though not as hard as predicted....I've caught a cold though (I hate airplanes!) so may take it easy today...Keep at it, all of you!

just back from lunchtime "strength" yoga, much needed after yesterday's gentle yin yoga and taiji. Safe travels Ruth, enjoy the sun and walks on the beach. That is my routine at our family beach cottage as well...1 hr of beach walking, real walking with sneakers, not shell collection "walking". TT

I managed to read all the post last night. Jo and LB so sorry for the loss of your friends.

Karen- I thought of you every time the teacher strike was on the news and when the big crash on the interstate in Denver was headline news.

Wonderland - poison ivy is sneaky in the winter! Fingers crossed that the steroid has you on the mend!

Cute dog!! I think it was TT that posted. I'm sure he's enjoying his new forever home!

Ruth-if anyone should have some sun and sand it's you! Lawd! At the snow and temps you have been dealing with!

We (my girl and I ) volunteered at a church this morning and did a little grocery shopping at the "healthy grocery" store. We are home now ready for the bad weather to hit us again.

I'll do one of my DVD's in a little whole. I have 13,000+ steps in already.

    Have a lovely eveNing ladies!

Vargadoll - I only heard about the multi car accident on Pena Blvd (road to airport) yesterday!!!

@Karen- it was all over our news for days until we had a crash on I-26 that resulted in a fire! Oh and....I would have been upset with the girl scout delivery to! I do not like it when other make it apear that my time is not valuable!

Our cold day will be tomorrow. We have the threat of ice. It's pouring now but still above freezing so far. Maybe Ruth will post some pictures of her walks on the beach for us!

Aw, cute dog, Heidi. You always have someone to walk with now.

I had to shovel Monday again, so I am getting in my workouts! Yesterday I walked. I have 208 exercise minutes for the week, which is pretty good in winter for me. Since I feel a cold coming on, today I will either do yoga or rest. Rest is sounding preferable!

varga- I'm with you. It really frustrates me when friends think my time is of no value. I love to entertain. Wine and hors d'oeuvres start at 7:00pm and dinner would start approx. 8:00 pm. Some friends would show up between 9:00 and 9:30 and would be quite peeved that dinner started without them. I'm talkin about a sit-down dinner not an outdoor picnic or barbecue. And those situations time is more flexible. But every single person's time is a value. And no person should have to sit around and wait for person to show up.

After two plane delays and a mad dash through the Dallas airport we landed in Florida about 1am. Judging from the weather since then, we got out in the nick of time! A great beach walk today!
