Hi everyone I got in a 30 minute walk around our lake today. I enjoyed watching as a large band of geese went into the water, one after another, with military precision. Graceful!

The rest of the day was spent "dethugging" (cleaning and organizing) my office. One step at a time. Ugh! 🦆🦢🦆🦢🦆🦢

Falconer- younger rocking that beach tan! Gorgeous!

Ruth- enjoy your visit to my state (and Wonderland's)

Glad to see everyone is still on the move no matter how much moving it is! I have been in the pool doing laps and decided to test my Charge 3 Fitbit. So far so good it is "waterproof ". Averaging 24,000+ steps a day. I just dis a work week hustle and mt 5 day total was 131,771.

Fingers crossed for no rain today! We had storms yesterday after lunch so that knocked me out of my pool time

    Happy Saturday!

What a great picture Ruth! Beautiful ladies love the smiles!

I was just popping back on here to vent...one of the reasons I'm so unmotivated to actually "work out" is because of all the compression crap I have to wear. When I get up on the morning I take off my night gear. I typically do not put the "day compression" on until after my shower. It's such a pain to put all that stuff on work out, take it all off, shower and put a fresh set back on. If I had 2 beige swell spot wraps and 2 black ones I would always have a clean one to put back on. I only have one of each and they can get sweaty real quick. I am definitely not supposed to exercise without my compression on. I can get by with a little house work before i "suit-up". I think that's why I like the pool so much. No compression in there! Vent over carry on!

Falconer: What a fabulous picture or you and a perfect class for you to teach.

Ruth: Love the pictures and can't wait to see you and hear about your beach trip.

edj: Congrates on running the 10k. I hear ya about the muggy weather.

Reader: The geese put on a show for you!

Varga: Vent away. You have every right to. I hate that you have to go through all that day in day out. It really is the part of bc that isn't discussed until it happens to you. Heart

    Walked/ran this evening. Sweaty now.

Varga, that would definitely complicate things for anyone. Just thinking about it makes me twitchy.

Thanks Wonderland and edj3! I know I whine alot about the LE but the shit rules my life!!! I noticed that my left side (good side) is more muscular that the right. (LE side) I'm seriously out of balance with my body shape. I need to find a trainer that works with LE. Or just over whelm myself with education on LE. Only problem is I have the attention span of a 2 y/o! (Thank you Tamoxifen!)

Yesterday the pool was a no go...storms storms and more storms. Wonderland we can't even get the yard mowed! I'm glad the storms havent made it your way.

My plan is to get in the pool after lunch. If that doesnt happennits going to be the rebounder and dreadmill!

    Happy Sunday!

Looking good, Falconer! Ruth, ah is right. That looks very refreshing-the beach and the drinks both. Varga, it would seem beneficial to find a trainer experienced with LE.

Three days of hikesaround the lake since last report.

Varga, what state do you live in? I would think you could find a LE PT or even a PT thru telemedicine that could provide coaching for you.

I finally hit my "2 years since last surgery" which was my goal to return to full strength. I have gotten close to my same endurance, but definitely not as strong and have problems with my hands so its hard to tell if I can do things due to lack of strength or hand pain (thanks AI !LOL)

So here is the question, has anyone come up with a fix for hand/thumb/wrist pain when in weight bearing---hands and knees, push ups, planks etc. I use a towel rolled up in my hand when doing yoga, but that only works for the first few minutes of my gentle yoga class, and then I cannot take it anymore. Does anyone know of a prop or support that will still allow weight bearing thru the flat hand????? I have searched my PT resources and cannot find anything, but there has to be something out there????

2Fun, hopefully Lilac will have some tips for you.

Varga, if you can find a trainer with experience working with LE; it would sure be worth a shot.

Yesterday we had a wonderful beach day until 3:30 when a violent and long lasting thunderstorm ended anymore outdoor activities for the day. In the evening we went down to Broadway on the Beach (shops, restaurants and bars) and had a fun time there. We got a late checkout today so we could spend more time on the beach.

My sister's house has rotten internet connection and won't let me post pictures. I'll either try again tomorrow or when I get home.

Hi Everyone. I visited with Ruth today! Her sister lives on a lake about an hour from me. It felt like a Homecoming bc I grew up swimming and boating in this lake. My parents lived there for almost 40 years. My children grew up swimming in the lake, also.

It was great to see Ruth again. I've met her sister, SIL, and friend on other visits and it was good to catch up with them also. Her sister's dh took us pontooning. We beached on a small island and went swimming for several hours. Perfect activity on such a hot day! It was 96 degrees when I drove home.

Enjoyed the water pics Wonderland and Ruthbru. Looks like a great time was had by all.

Very achey, tired and "off" today so no workout which may or may not have been a good choice. Tomorrow is a other day. I had been switched off the Teva Arimidex due to backorder. So I've been on an alternative and believe my joint pain is significantly worse. The pharmacy told me Teva is back. That can't happen soon enough for me!

No pictures yet, but I did get to Portland. So now 13 in a row. Off to bed now, as have deadlines looming. Still recovering and so grateful that I stayed over and missed the experience of the bus last night that took five hours with no AC. This morning's bus was pleasant with minimal traffic.

I will say that I do NOT want to be on a bicycle seat for at least a few days! And I was fine with only 2 miles of walking for today. I got the important clothing items into the wash as well Happy

Yes, I got there! - Claire

Ruth and Wonderland- great pictures! It was 80 in Asheville yesterday by 9 a.m.! We did get a terrible storm (again) around 4:30 and it lasted for over a hour. Wonderland I hope you didn't have to drive in any bad weather on your way home. Ruth-safe travels today!

Reader- sorry you are having an off day. May today be a better day!

Claire- you truly stick to your plans! If you say you are doing it ....its done!

Yesterday I actually ran a mile and half in the treadmill and then did laps in the pool for 30 mintues . It felt good to make myself "just do it". I started my day running errands but I dressed to work out. Then when I got home I just hit the treadmill and after I was all sweaty got in the pool. This might need to be my plan a few days a week. Pony tails and yoga pants no matter what I'm doing!

Falconer, love the photo and wish I could be with ya. Ruth & Wonderland, super photos and you both look so happy. Varga, stick with the water and vent away. My dh wears a sleeve and he has two as well (also takes the weekends off of sleeve wearing), it is hard in hot weather.

I'm here in Bristol since last Friday and learning so much about yin yoga. Enjoying it greatly and my body feel better for it. Let's keep at it!

Got a 5 mile general aerobic run in today plus one 100 meter stride--training continues! My left arm is really bugging me though, and fortutiously my occupational therapist called today and now I'm seeing her Friday.

MC Baker, starting/restarting is a great idea. I feel like I am always re-starting! LOL was planning on a workout tonight, but we are unexpectedly going out to dinner to celebrate my daughter's new job offer. She has has a rough year and this is hopefully a portant of good things to come!

RE: hand props for exercise. I was looking around the web and found some yoga/pilates wedges. Does anyone know about these, and if they would be helpful to unload the pressure on my wrists and thumbs/fingers?

Varga: It hasn't rained here. Just the heat. Pony tail and yoga pants every day sounds good to me!

    Claire: Congratulations!

Reader: Hope you're getting some relief from your joint pain.

LB: What a fun, educational week you are having.

McBaker: I bet it felt good to go back to the gym.

2FUN: Congratulations on your dd's new job offer.

    Walked early this evening.

    Love the pics!

MCBaker, start where you are! How did it go?

I just got back from a few days in San Diego, mostly for work, but I got in lap swimming and walks on the beach while I was there.....not to mention walking through airports, especially since I wasn't paying attention and had the rental car shuttle drop me off at the wrong terminal...a bit of power walking and I made my flight, no problem!

Back home, it has been raining in the afternoons (what we call 'monsoon' season; it lasts through August and into September), but at least it isn't hot here. I am walking the neighborhood in the morning before work...

    Hi Everyone!

Ruth and Wonder it’s so good to see you together! There’s a funny nonreality to cyber space, despite the intimate posts and the photos, and so it’s good to see folks together in real time. You look great!

2Fun- sorry to hear about the hand and wrist pain. I definitely use blocks and find myself balling my hands into fists in poses that allow that. It doesn’t work in down dog but in poses like triangle I find that making a fist and pushing into the tops of my knuckles helps. (And then putting my hand into the block) I’ve also seen women in class use gloves tho I don’t have experience with them maybe that would help? There are angled blocks as well but again I don’t have personal experience with them. I hope you find relief, and so happy to hear about your daughter’s job.

LB- glad to hear the yin workshop was a good one.

I also forgot to say I saw my MO last Thursday. We talked about the muscle cramping and he didn’t recommend quinine because it can effect platelet levels- however he did say magnesium is good. He also wrote me a script for Gabapentin which is still sitting in the pharmacy. Meh. I can’t bring myself to add another drug so like all of you I’m just planning to live with the SEs until I don’t have to take Tam or an AI...

Mcbaker- starting slow keeps me moving. If I take on to much to soon I end up with cording o swelling it's a vicious cycle! Find what works a run with it!

Falconer- ugh! I hate a medication for the medication! I know at times ya' just gotta give in but I'm worth you! I dont want another med!

Wonderland- we have been in the 90's with several evening storms. The heat and rain have the mosquitoes out and there are on a mission!! I have used a whole bottle of the EO bug spray that I make. It usually last a few weeks!

Ruth- did you make it home?

LB- sounds like you are enjoying yourself!

Yesterday I went to the gym at my church. I dont know if I told you ladies about it. It's set up like a curves and has treadmills, bikes and an elliptical. I did a mile in the elliptical and 3 on the bike. I also did a circuit on the machines and now I have the dreaded cording from my elbow to my wrist. After that I came home to get some laps on the pool. Got ready and made my way to the pool with my girl. (Oh! Best part about the gym at the church I can take my girl! She loves watching me on the machines) the pool is full of these bee looking things. I got stung my one the day before in my LE arm (DAMN IT!) I wasnt sure what it was. I thought it was a sweat bee type kind of bug but thought no sweat bees dont sting. When I saw all the bugs in the pool I sat on the pool deck and Googled sweat bee. Only the female can sting so it was a sweat bee that got me. I'm watching that arm and keeping it clean. I dont need cellulitis or a bacterial infection! Anyway It took me almost 2 hours to get them all out of the pool. DH had mowed the day before and i guess he must have ran over their nest and got them all stirred up. ...that's a long story...sorry!

Off to deliver Meals on Wheels and a little Walmart (or Target havent decided) shopping today.

    Have a great day!

We have a severe heat advisory through Saturday evening, which means tomorrow's run (and Saturday's run) will be wretched. High today of 100 with heat index values of 107, and it's that way until Sunday. Blah.

Yoga today. My sentinel node incision is mad at me, and so's my left pec.

For the person asking about wrist support for yoga...after 3 years on Arimidex and lots of bone pain, I got Yoga Jellies https://yogajellies.com/

I use them all the time for my hands, but they can also be used for extended time on your knees.

    $55 from amazon. TT

here is an online yoga person showing how she uses them...first couple of minutes okay, but skip the end as it turns into a commercial for her yoga stuff...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryvvjOVUuUI

Just checking in quickly as I have tons of things to do. I did make it home about midnight & walked with the Walking Women this morning, enjoying the lovely 65 degree weather and lower humidity. I will probably take the dogs for a walk this afternoon, and go to Dance2Fit and my Book Club tonight. My post-vacation diet will have to wait until tomorrow!
