My "trunk" is my office!! When I'm covering a school, I use the School Psych's office, but my stuff is in my car...I could probably put it in my crawl space, but you never know when you need something

My poor MIL can't catch a break - they check the "stump" and it was full of puss!!! MIL told my DH that it stunk when they took the bandage off - the first time in 8 days!! So tomorrow its to the OR to debreed (sp) the wound. 3rd surgery in 2 weeks!!! Really worried about her!!!

Claire - congrats on 10 years!! I've seen sites where middle age goes to 70 and I'm sticking to it!

    Sweet dreams everyone!

Karen, you actually have space set aside for your use in your buildings? Never tested in a furnace-room or used an afternoon kinder room in the morning? Lap of luxury!

Sad to see that your MIL is still having problems, but having gotten as far as she has gotten with her present health problems is still impressive. Will continue prayers.

I used my weights this morning, and skipped the gym. I interviewed a dog this morning. I hope he will soon be my best friend, but right now he fears commitment.

Had a Herceptin infusion and talked with my onco this afternoon.

MCBaker, I've had a closest for my office, book room, no office but a desk in room with the SLP and OT. But now I fill in for SPs who are on FMLA or a vacancy.

My MIL came through surgery - She is one strong lady - we are planning to see her again next week-end. My DD#2 arrives Monday evening to spend time with her grandma till Thursday morning. She goes every year to see her grandma.

Need to get busy and vacuum my floors - they weren't washed last week so they need to be done.

I did fill-in for two years. Supervisor had to be supervisor for another agency. So I got a handful of Catholic schools he had been serving. Then one of the psychs had a necrotizing bacterial infection and was out all one semester.

    Just remembering.

Your MIL is indeed strong-- any relation to Ruth Bader Ginzberg?? Wowzers!

Hope your MIL can get over the hump and start to feel better, Karen.

I went to Aqua Zumba, cleaned the house, did some yard work, walked the puppies, actually made a good and healthy dinner (shamefully rare for me), and am now sitting around reading cruise brochures and wishing that I had more $$$$$. Loopy

DS is trying to get his garage painted so I babysat the dogs for most of the afternoon. We went on a long walk & to the dog park. I don't know it they are tired out, but I am!

The pool in my community center finally opened for the summer after various repairs...yeah a little late but good to be able to do laps in the am! We've had a lot of afternoon rains and T-storms, so swimming in the am is the way to go. I've been doing a good amount of walking too....again, earlier in the day. Today is the first day in a week without rain, but it is very windy out. we've got a few more weeks to be before monsoon season is over.

Yikes! I need to get on this site more often! You are all so good about exercise. I have been bad lately!! Maybe I can get some motivation here!

Enjoy the week! Sure wish it would cool off in Florida, but that is wishful thinking.

Hi mysunshine. Great to 'see' you!! Check in more often and we will guilt you into exercising. Winking

It's a rainy day here, so I spent an hour on the treadmill.

Got all my training runs in this week; flew to Atlanta for a friend's birthday party, back again today. I fly to Orlando tomorrow for work and I'm whimpering over the super hot running conditions there this week.

I love this thread!!! I love knowing what everyone does for fitness. I don't post often, so today, I'll show where I've been getting exercise recently. 2018 was a zero hiking year for me: foot surgery and then breast cancer + surgeries and chemo. I'm loving beautiful Oregon this summer, and feeling really happy to be outdoors getting exercise in nature whenever possible.

No photos of this, but every morning, I do 1 hour of (vertical, head out of water) deep water exercise with resistance equipment (ankle cuffs and foam bar bells) in my nearby city pool. 2-3 days a week, I do hiking or biking instead. This week, I'm switching to lap swimming to prepare for an open water swim (Labor Day Columbia River crossing).

Lost Lake 3 mile hike around lake 2 weeks ago with my sisterimage

12 mile bike ride in Columbia River gorge on new bike trail last week with a friend

    image

8 mile hike to Moraine Lake on South Sister last weekend with DHimage

5 mile hike at Smith Rock State Park last Sunday with DHimage

4 mile Hike this morning in Forest Park with DH - hundreds of miles of trails right in Portland; very special!

Three days ago 4 mile hike in Columbia River Gorge at Hamilton Mountain with a friend

    HikingLady that all looks amazing!

I don't swim for exercise any more--did last year after I fractured my pelvis so it's not that I can't. I just don't love it the way I love running. Which is too bad, I'm kind of interested in triathalons, well at least the shorter ones. But open water swims? Uh no thanks!

Wow, Hikinglady, those are some gorgeous sites. I see lots of sunshine. Is Oregon sunnier than Seattle or is it just the time of year?

i have been walking the long way around the lake. I did this Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Saturday this week. 225 minutes all week.

Can’t blame the underwear thing on me. If I put on underwear or socks for two minutes and decide I need to wear another color, for example, I will wash them. This psychosis is probably weirder than wearing underwear twice, I admit!

    HikingLady - wonderful photos

The only exercise that I enjoy is walking outside!! I ride my bike (a cruiser) on occasion - I've never been a runner (even at 21) and don't like gyms or exercise equipment. I keep saying that I'm going to add hand weights (2-3#) but never remember to take them.

HikingLady- I can see why you’re inspired to exercise. So much beauty to explore.

Yesterday we took the little ds on a short 5 mile bike ride to the playground. Today I’m aiming to double that mileage. Have to get out of bed first.

TwoHobbies Portland and all of Oregon has terrific weather in July, August and September. Then it rains until the next July, ha ha!

edj3 I wish I could run, but foot and knees do not allow.... I read everyone's running reports with great interest, though! My rebuilt foot can hike 2-3 times a week just 3-5 miles without discomfort, which is better than nothing, so I'll take it!

I grew up on an orchard near Mt. Hood and forests, and my happy times are when I get to be out in nature. From Portland, it's possible to be at the beach or up in the mountains in 60-90 minutes, so I do that when possible.

"My rebuilt foot can hike 2-3 times a week just 3-5 miles without discomfort, which is better than nothing, so I'll take it!" Much better than nothing.

I took my new dog to the gym yesterday. He was nervous, not used to the clank of the machines, but will get used to it. Once he settles in to my rhythm of life, I won't take him. Right now we are just learning about each other. I have to go to the DL station to get a handicapped tag. He can walk alongside my scooter; we are having problems adjusting speed to match. I don't have a car, but am able to drive in an emergency, and when I go shopping with a friend who doesn't have a tag it is more convenient.

MCBakerha, what is your dog's name & can you post his picture (for the dog lovers among us)?

I spent the morning at the beautican's, am subbing this afternoon, will probably walk the dogs after school (DS lives a couple blocks from there) & go to Zumba tonight.

Here he is. He rode on the scooter about half the distance. His name is Tippy, and he is a Shih Tsu and Bichon Frise mix.

I think I will leave him at home when I go to the gym today. Only take him during quiet times.

I know. He is very cute. He greeted me after the gym session as if I had been away for a week! I had to sit down and give him a belly-rub. Right now he is chewing on a piece of rawhide.

Ruth, does your last name start with "Bru"? My maiden name was Bruder.
