Lets Post our Daily Exercise

Runnermum, that is a very special (if sad) run!
Pat, I imagine yours is quite different, but my PT for knee replacements *was* exercise! They started me off with time on the stationary bike, and then it was on to lots of lifting and weight bearing exercises.
Rain starts again tomorrow so I made a point to do lots of walking today just in case the rain becomes an excuse. My radiation ends Wednesday next week, yay, but I am definitely starting to feel the fatigue.

Runnermom - the 1950 Betty Crocker cookbook is the one that my late MIL had that is now mine. It looks just like the one you posted! The weather by you is a tad bit too old for my bones!!
Pat - glad to hear that your shoulder is slowly getting better.
Ruth - you are dedicated to still sub in such lousy weather even if DH drove you. But I know you sub for friends so that makes a difference in commitment.
edj3 - hope you had a good flight home
Falconer - 4 wheel roller skate or inline skate? You're a good sport to roller skate! I would rather ice skate. How old is your son?
Martaf - hope you are feeling better
My BIL took the rocking chair to Fed X - my goodness it was expensive to ship - definitely more than the $ value of the chair, but I wanted it - yup I'm nuts. It's not sentimental from all the years, but more sentimental because it was hers. It should arrive in the next day or 2 and then I need to figure out where to put it. A picture of the chair is on the previous page
Took a bunch of toys (gently used that were my kids) and a few new games to the Santa Claus shop. i took pictures of the stuffed animals - way too many and most were DD#2s. Asked both daughters is they wanted any and DD#2 goes LOL, no!!! I decided to keep the 3 Build a Bears that I was going to give away. The shelf in my bedroom looked empty and DD#1 said she liked them. Besides there is always next year. Keeping on my mission of getting rid of stuff. I think I mentioned that I found a bunch of new table clothes in the linen closet behind a boxed glass bowl - all bargain basement prices at BedBathandBeyond. Need to figure out what to keep and what to donate. Just don't need so much - and out of sight out of mind, which is why I forget I bought stuff.
I have several BC beanie babies - again way too many that I bought in the early years. I've left several on my dresser and bagged the others. If anyone wants one, I'm happy to post pictures and mail them. I figured little kids didn't want BC beanie babies.
Counting the days till winter break. 2 days this week and 4 next (remember I don't work Fridays). As soon as I came back from Thanksgiving break I was ready for winter break!!
DD#2 got to the airport way too early for her flight. She is heading to NY (from Israel) for a long week-end. She is a bridesmaid in her best friend's wedding on Thursday. Of course, as usual, she finished packing just before the taxi arrived. I'm sure she didn't sleep tonight at all as she had class all day (Israel is 9 hours ahead of Mountain time, 7 hours ahead of Eastern time). Its 3:45 am in Israel. I think he flight is at 6:30ish to Frankfurt, then connects to Newark. Don't know how long her layover is. She is taking 4 days off classes, but she knows what she needs to do. She had wanted to fly back late Saturday night but I think the fare was a lot more than what she paid for her Sunday evening flight. I'm not sure why she has a connecting flight as there are lots of direct flights NY (all 3 airports) to Israel.
I've been too wimpy to walk before work, but yesterday and today got out of the building to walk for about 20 minutes. Will probably walk with DH in a bit.
Stay warm

I think Runner & my towns have been kidnapped and we are now located in Siberia! The air temperature was 20 below when I went to Pound at 9am! I got all my packages in the mail, went to Yoga Nidra at noon (which I love, Lilac, I look forward to it all week), wrote cards all afternoon & went to girls & boys high school basketball games tonight.
What a meaningful and special run, Runner.
I have some of mom's church cookbooks from the 1950s. What I cherish is that she put notes down by the recipes. 'Add less salt', 'makes scads of bars', 'really good', 'No!' etc. etc.
Octo, so glad that you are almost done! How long do you have to stick around before you can head home?
Karen, I need to get some of your cleaning out energy! I have two rooms and a big, big closet in the basement that all need to be emptied.

Pat01 - I realized later that I wasn’t very encouraging. I do want add that you are going twice a week to PT whereas, I only went once a week. So I think that extra time so early in your recovery will make a big difference. Also, I’m still pretty happy with what I can do now. Also glad that my shoulder doesn’t ache like it did during healing.
One question I had about my broken shoulder was whether or not the bone was weakened by radiation therapy since I broke the shoulder on my affected side. I received the clearance to get a bone density test, but I never got around to it. Was your break on the affected side? Did anyone mention a connection to radiation?

Got in a five mile run here in Las Vegas this morning.

Ran 5 miles last night at the indoor track which stinks running 40 laps around a stinky hockey rink but got it done! Did 50 squats, 50 clam shells each side, 50 glute bridges and 50 lunges each side after. A good leg workout. Today will XT.
Octo so glad you are nearing the end. Stay strong and thinking of you!!
Kale...I have my bone density scheduled for this spring. I will have been on anti hormones for over 2 yrs then. I have always heard they weaken our bones but would make sense that rads could also. Will be interested in what you find out.
Karen..Yes the copy right on that cookbook is 1950. I also have one from the 70s. Happy you are getting the rocking chair. Those things can not be replaced. In Nov I went to a HS football game. It was 35* that night and I grabbed a quilt my late grandma made in the 70s. It fell out of my bag as I walked in. Long story short I couldnt find it at the field that night, I was devastated and made a plea on facebook which was shared over 300 times. A week later I was contacted by a family from my town who had seen it laying in parking lot that night and picked it up and returned to me. As I am getting older and losing more and more important people in my life, certain items are becoming more and more special.

Go, go, Octo! You're almost there! Ruth, I almost made it to 80 last night. Five minutes more of sleep and I would have clinched it. But I had to go to the bathroom.
Our Parliament is electing federal councillors (7-member executive branch) today and there was a chance a Green candidate would make it for the first time in history, but I think it didn't happen. Maybe next time. Greta has had such a big impact here. I think it doesn't really matter how green Switzerland gets because we're so small. The government should spend the money (as one of the 20 largest economies in the world) on helping other countries cope with climate change.
My muscles are sore from BodyPump.

All the Wednesday Women walked indoors this morning. We then had a potluck brunch at the house of one of our members who is an excellent pianist. After eating we gathered around her piano, sang carols, and rang the bells she has sitting all over the room. We like Christmas so much that we have to start early. Next week will be our Ugly Holiday Sweater Wednesday!

Good note Ruth! Octo, so tracking your completion and hope your spirits are up. Ah HeidiHill, a pumper and yes to Greta in inspiring whole countries on this side of the world. Tactical voting for today and our general election may flip, although I doubt it.
Using this morning to wrap presents and mail to DH's daughter in Ireland. Have a yin workshop on Sunday in London. Feeling pressed in this run-up to Christmas.

Tonight, I jogged and walked, then did back exercises.

IAmACat, how much longer for you w/ radiation? You've just been a trooper with your workouts.

If you look closely you can see my aunt’s name across the top. She gave it to me 20 years ago. She’s been gone 10. Inside is a gem of 1950s housewifery
Karen, my DD3 is 6.5. Have to put in the .5 because he seems older as he is short but wise. Probably bc his siblings are 21 and 18. I just rented the rink skates so nothing fancy. I envy your Marie Kondo clutter busting. Not happening here quite yet as we are still in the phase of more stuff coming into the house!
Took the day off today to avoid absolute burnout. Went to yoga class this morning and now it’s time to wrap some gifts.
Keep at it y’all!

Ran 5 miles this AM and this was probably the best run since this whole BC thing started. I felt really good--no coincidence that I'm nearly 6 months out of radiation. That fatigue was a drag.

Hi edj3, my last radiation is New Year's Eve, literally. I am taking radiation surprisingly well. I just hope to avoid late effects. I do light workouts, but I try to be consistent about them. I don't know how you manage to run miles and miles every day.

I didn't run well during radiation but I figured if I were going to be wiped out no matter what, then I might as well run. But I was also lucky in that I didn't need chemo, which is a whole different ball game. I'm finally, finally not feeling so run down and I'm so thankful for that.
I'm glad you're nearly at the end of radiation and I hope your skin handles the remaining sessions well

Subbed, went to Dance2Fit, and then went to a wrestling match (as a spectator).
Edj, glad you are feeling more like yourself! And, yea, IAmACat, I am glad that you are almost done with rads. I did really well with them too.

falconer...So funny that 3 of us have that same cookbook! Makes me smile!!
IAmACat...whoo hoo for being almost done! Hoping it continues to go well!
Ran 4 miles after work. Wanted to sneak in some strength work but decided to hit the mall for a few hrs of Xmas shopping instead! Our weekend is crazy and I want to finish it up! Only 1more week of work before break but kids have been crazy this week and I am afraid of tomorrow!

Did a very chilly 25 minute outdoor walk. I was layered up and it was a good idea today here. ❄🌨🌡

Did an hour of weights and abs today. I'll feel this tomorrow on my long run!

More walking, some lifting, some stretching...and more rain. On the home stretch, my last radiation tx is next week!

One more week till winter break, not that I'm counting!!!
It is windy, windy out - can hear it howling from inside the house - was standing and talking to someone outside and thought we were going to get blown away...supposed to get snow this weekend. Hope it stays in the mountains!
Not a great walking week - don't think I've made it past 12K any day this week - still need to get 1 or 2 walks in today but not so inclined to walk in this wind!
Have a good weekend.

We had more snow, plus wind. So, I shoveled, subbed, shoveled some more, did a 45 minute tonight DVD & danced with Marshall Fitness on utube for about 20 minutes,

Got in an 8 mile run this morning. I wish this pain on my left side would go away, it's beyond annoying.

3 walks today with the "beast" aka Grady, rainy and wet. Cleaned house for company coming, laundry caught up. made cookies. Steroids, yuk, only one more time with these nasty meds on board! Love the energy but hate the crashes

This is a week of celebration for my classes. Tomorrow, Pink Ribbon Pilates will have our Christmas coffee morning and I made up treat bags for everyone, that have chocolates and Knitted Knockers UK keyrings! Off to teach Pilates and then taking the train to London to attend a 3 hour Yin yoga workshop.

Hello LilacBlue, what a wonderful sense of community you have. Tonight, I stretched and did abs. Yesterday, I stretched and did back.

What pretty treat bags, Lilac!
I'm off to Barre and Yoga. When I get home I MUST finish off the Christmas cards and start cleaning the house!
