How fun, edj!!! Awesome that they could pull off the suprise!

30 minutes toning DVD and walked outside in the 40 degrees (above zero!) temperatures. Very, very sloppy; but no complaints from me. I still am fighting a cold but managed to get some sleep last night due to the only-slightly-expired Nyquil I found in the back of the medicine cabinet.

Got in four and a quarter miles this morning, ran at a super easy pace.

I took a heavenly 2 hour nap, went to Barre, and jumped on the treadmill for a couple miles.

    Happy Birthday, edj3!

Mostly dogwalking the past few days while DD and DH did some off-piste sports, but also got in a few hikes together. We saw two girls, probably kindergarteners, sledding down all alone on a bright green metal number with a steering wheel. They were so cute. They had walked up all by themselves!

    Thank you, Heidihill !

Did a short run this morning, not quite 2 1/2 miles--Monday is normally a rest day but (a) the weather was gorgeous and (b) birthday run!

    Happy Birthday, edj!

    Thanks for the smile, Heidi.

Yesterday it was so nice out that I decided to walk to yoga class and then back home again. 5.1 miles. Plus an hour of yoga.

Today I only had time for a 2 mile walk. Yesterday and today have been so spring like. Sigh.

14 years ago today, I heard those dreaded words!! I was thinking today if I thought back then if I would be here today! I'm not sure if I'll grow old (I mean old!!) but I'm happy for every birthday that I have!!! Growing older and old sounds very good to me!

Bitter cold tonight in Denver and 6" snow predicted. School cancelled all after school activities for today. I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow. I could use the extra time to work in the house and catch up on reports for work!

DH and I will walk after it snows as its dicey (icy) in spots - the weather gal goes it looks like water, but people at 25 degrees its black ice (like duh- are people really that dumb)!!!

We are now camping in the Florida Panhandle. Got a nice 5 mile walk on the beach today. Hope the weather holds for more walks. I'll see if I can post a picture, our camping spot is just beautiful, nothing between our camper and the water.

Happy Birthday edj! Another February Gal (mine is the end of the month..)

I am with Ruth: Glad you are here Karen...

    fantastic view pat!

It has been really warm here (for Santa Fe in February: yesterday's highs were in the fifties), and hubby and I did a great long hike Sunday near our home: on the 'Rail Trail': the trail is about 12 miles long altogether and follows a train track that runs between Santa Fe and Lamy, NM that is no longer in use, though there are rumors about bringing it back for a commuter train for my suburb and to connect Santa Fe with the Amtrak to Chicago that stops in Lamy (which would be awesome!). Anyway, here a few pics from our hike.

I've decided that one of these days I am going to walk it all the way to the place my sister bought at the Santa Fe end (about six or seven miles to the north, I believe, we are near the middle of the trail. Yesterday we walked south for a few hours...)....

As for Karen in Denver, the temps are dropping rapidly here, and tomorrow we are expected to have temps in the twenties, and in the teens tomorrow night, with some snow projected, although there have been different projections as to how much: 2 inches or ten? We will find out tomorrow....

    Thanks Ruth and Octo.

Was hoping for a snow day tomorrow, but so far only a 2 hour delay. Maybe if the snow picks up, they'll be good news in the morning!!!

No walk outside this evening as in single digits. But I did pace in the house so I got to just over 10K.

Shoveled the driveway - was only a few inches since DH shoveled last night too. Think I'll bundle to get a walk before I go to work - 2 hour delay, so I don't need to leave till 9:00 . Hope the roads won't be too bad then - but of course since all the area schools are on the same 2 hour delay, there probably will still be traffic.

    Stay warm

I woke up to about an inch or so, but it is snowing now and more is accumulating...my work office is at a higher elevation and at the end of a steep uphill road, so there is a pretty good chance I will work from home: waiting to check road reports and have coffee before making a final decision. It is cold outside (27, feels like 17 and dropping rapidly) so I will probably do exercise indoors at home today as well! I need a good YouTube video!

Fortunately today is a planned rest day. We have off and on sleet/snow and are on tap to get just over an inch of that. Plus while the thermometer reads 31F, the wind chill temp is 20F.

Tomorrow doesn't look good at all, forecast calls for two and a half inches of snow and wind chill temps in the teens. Makes it hard to train :(

Love all the Santa Fe and Florida pictures!

I went to POUND, Yoga Nidra, walked puppies, and will sneak in a 30 minute Barre class before I go watch high school basketball tonight. Do NOT send any more snow our way! We are full!!

Got a nice 5 mile bike ride today to a nearby beach and back - then spent the afternoon driving the coast. Still visible is the devastation from hurricane Michael in October 2018. Where once was houses is now water, the road is barely hanging on in places - plus you see a random boat abandoned inland. In places the storm surge was 19+ feet.

Here in RI rain, rain, rain. Getting tired of the rain and overcast skies. Either have the sun come out or snow!!!! Makes things depressing. Walked my dog and did a great class of YOGA yesterday. Today go to have LOCalizer inserted right breast in preparation for next weeks surgery.

Well the snow has started falling--not much yet.

I overslept today but had already planned to work from home because the Chiefs Super Bowl parade is right by my work. No thanks to that craziness--streets were already closed as I left work last night!

First day with my running coach--did a set of lunge matrices (front, back, side, diagonal), then did a 4 mile easy run followed by some lower body work.

Just returned from Women and Infants Hospital. LOCalizer placed for surgery next week. this will guide surgeon on surgical path and removal of lesion. Usually done with ultrasound but I have no tumor left so done with mammography. Hurt less than breast biopsy. Can't do my YOGA for a few days so just walking the dog. Long walks

I subbed today. Since school started an hour late due to a staff development workshop, I was able to walk with the Wednesday Women for 45 minutes before turning into a teacher.

5 Mile hike today through a boring pine forest. Then we took our books to the beach and read for a while.

Last night was below zero and even colder with wind chill. I think when we walked after work yesterday it was 3 below. Too cold to walk this morning. Warmed up today to high 20s - walked after dinner - supposed to be warmer tomorrow then snow again Friday.

I need to work downtown tomorrow afternoon at our admin bldg doing interviews for next year - since I refuse to pay to park and I spend all day there so I will park about 15 - 20 minute walk where the parking is free. I could work at another location, but I don't like driving back and forth. Our team meeting was cancelled tomorrow as our boss's baby - (14 months) is in the hospital. He was admitted Monday night wit bronchitis and in PICU till today - he is being moved to regular floor and expected to be in hospital rest of week.He will be okay but so scary -

My husband texted me as I got to work this morning that his cousin died - she was 74 - would have been 75 next month. She was on a cruise with her DH. She was sitting on the deck by the pool and died peacefully of a heart attack (or she died in her sleep on the deck, we believe). They boat was between Guam and Manilla. She has back surgery and a heart attack a few years ago, but this was totally unexpected. She was a great lady and my DH has fond memories of her growing up. She babysat for my DH and his brother and when my MIL past away in September she called my DH and was telling stories from when she babysat - DH was young - maybe a toddler at the time. Good memories. She lived life with zest!!! It shook my DH up a bit as they were close but also its the beginning of loosing the cousins - My DH is the 2nd youngest of 12 - 1st cousins - range in age from 63 to 79.

Talked to DD#2 who is in the middle of finals - in her physics class of 145 students - only 1 student passed the final!!! Now tell me, what is wrong with this picture. DD said instructor is really good but it was the test! I think she still has 4 or 5 other finals - and I tell you - I don't know half of what she is talking about - way higher level stuff than I ever had and I have my BA, MS and PhD!!! Coding, advanced calculus, physics and I don't remember what else. She told me that she is not stressing which is good for her. She also said she learned a lot of what she needs to do for the next 3 1/2 years - she is majoring in electrical engineering - Oh I remember one class is mechanical engineering and she said it is much harder than electrical!! Gotta love that girl.

Going to go pace in the house so I can get to 10K - only at 8800!! I miss my multiple walks/day. I've really turned into a wimp this winter.

Brr it was cold this morning. Did my 5 mile run plus strides, and the post run drills too. I was nervous about slipping on black ice, so I ran very, very carefully indeed. Made for a stressful run, to be honest.

My morning workouts are what have kept me sane so far. Between the dx and dealing with in-laws who are failing (physically and cognitively), these past few weeks have been quite the ride. I go to the gym that is on my way to work, so the workouts are set up for me and the trainers adjust any exercise I can't get back to doing yet. My workout today included exercises like (light) hammer curls, weighted glute bridges, sit ups, reverse crunches, (light) supported rows, box steps, and scissor / flutter kicks. I need to amp up my steps, though!
