The wind started to howl about 4 am and the temperature dropped like a rock (it's 2 pm right now and 13 below with 23 mph winds). Since we didn't get snow along with it, other than a late start for school kids (so they literally wouldn't freeze to death waiting for their buses), life has gone on as usual. Here are the Wednesday Women taking a pre-Valentine's Day walk.

Ruth I wish you wouldn't be so generous--I'd far rather you keep that arctic blast. But no, it's on the way here and will get here tonight.

I love both photos, the dogs and the walkers!!! What an awesome group of both. I am ready for spring!

Blame Karen, the weather is coming from her direction!

Thanks Ruth - but blame Colorado!!! We are getting more snow and single digits tonight. Temperatures not quite as brutal as yours but enough to wimp out walking outside especially with ice under the snow.

Marta: Love what your yoga teacher did for you today. Thinking of you and sending a prayer of healing your way.
Welcome MissouriCatLady! I love cats, too.
Heidi: I want that dog!!!
edj, Ruth, Karen: We have had nothing but rain, rain, rain. But on Friday it will clear up and we get all your cold air.
Hello to Everyone!
Walked/ran this afternoon.

Marta, thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.
Not cold here in the Florida panhandle, we have moved farther west and it is more populated and more traffic. Not crazy about our new campground but it will do for a few more days - then starting our trek back East, one week at a time. Last couple of days it has been very foggy and near 100% humidity, tomorrow rain and then some colder temps. But today was shorts weather and a walk on the beach at Fort Pickens.

It's FREEZING this morning. Glad I ran yesterday, it's nothing but ice now. Cats plastered against me all night long.
Marta, know you're surrounded by all of our prayers etc. today.

It is absolutely frigid here. I subbed today, and in a few minutes will go off to Zumba followed by Yoga.

Thank you, Wonderland. I downloaded Map My Walk and figured out my walk around the office is 1/3 of a mile - I need to walk around 3 times!
11 degrees here this morning. Thankfully, I think it is all up for the next few days, hard on the cars, my husband, and my neighbor's dog (put him inside the garage at least). Our stray feral only looked out of her dog house as her dish was filled this morning (she has a heated pad in there).

Gorgeous weather today in Denver - I was actually warm when I walked this afternoon....Some of the snow is melting, only to freeze again tonight. Snow in the forecast for Monday!! Enough already!
Have a good wee-end.

Yesterday I did half hour on the treadmill, went to Yogi Breathing & Nidra, subbed all afternoon and came home and crashed. I'm off to PiYo this morning. It is pretty nice here today with more snow Sunday night, so we are copying Karen's unsettled weather pattern.

Ran 8 miles today here in Franklin TN. We got in pretty late last night, so my run was much later in the morning than I prefer. Feels like the day just vanished.

Nice long beach walks yesterday and today. Picking up and moving to a new campground tomorrow.

I know why I felt rotten last night, by mid-morning I had self-diagnosed an UTI. Stopped by Urgent Care, and traded a urine sample for some antibiotics. Whew. What did ladies do in the olden days, I wonder?!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!
Sorry about the UTI, Ruth. They're awful. I had my share of them while on Cytoxan and especially Arimidex.
Pat: Nice long walks on the beach sounds delightful.
Had pretty weather yesterday and today. Walked/ran both days.

love the dog and WWW pics, Ruth! It was Galenstine's Day for the latter. Hope you are back on your feet soon.
Joining edj3 and Wonderland on a weekend run. Did 5K on the treadmill and some weights in a semi-fasted state (toast and coffee only). I haven't done this in a while and given I am at a seasonal high in weight decided to resume the practice. Supposedly training in a fasted state helps you burn 20% more fat. Also you burn more fat near the muscles being used during a fast. Working on my abs (for muffin tops) and triceps (for batwings).

Love the term seasonal high weight and just might steal it.
I run fasted probably 99% of the time (exception being long runs like yesterday's 8 mile run), and far prefer it. I do drink a big mug of hot water plus two cups of coffee before heading out but don't take in any calories. Then again, I don't eat breakfast for three or four hours after getting up.
Today's plan called for a four mile easy run so I got that done. I am loving having a running coach!

Okay - putting things away in a safe place and they don't remember where I put it!!!! I guess I need to start writing it down!!
I wonder about my memory - I have a notebook that I take to all my doctor appointments - went to look for it while ago and I couldn't find it - DH told me to go look in my car - lo and behold as soon as I open my car door, I remember I took the old best - 99 Suburban and it was on the front seat. This notebook (composition book) since my Dx - and its only from the past year - but thinking I lost it was unsettling.
Finishing my second 10 day round of antibiotics and finally the nagging cough is finally about gone!
Not a very productive day - Costco - but didn't get what I wanted done in the house - hopefully tomorrow will be more productive....Need to pack - leaving bright and early on Tuesday - 6am flight to Baltimore for NASP (national assoc of school psych) - fly home Friday morning - actually I was googling kosher restaurants and ways to get from BWI airport to the inner harbor (downtown area) - so maybe I was productive.
My stops are really down these past few week - getting just over 10K most days...
Have a good Sunday night

Sometimes you need to slow down and listen to your body, Karen. I think when you are sick and try to keep going at full speed....then you start forgetting things & it's counterproductive. (Now if I would only practice what I preach! I couldn't find my credit card yesterday & finally tracked it down at Walmart .......I should have been home letting the antibiotics kick it!)
I went to Pound & Barre today.

Thank you Ruth for pushing us with exercise and eating dried plums (aka prunes)...after three years of significant bone loss while on Arimidex (20% drop), I stopped the Arimidex and started the plums...and my Dexa scan of last week just came back. I have GAINED bone mass, I am back in the normal zone for lumbar and right hip and left hip is improved but still .1 of a point shy of the good zone. Have only been off Arimidex for 9 months, hope next year all parts are back in the green!
Happy Monday, TT

Today was yoga and abs. We head back to the deep freeze tonight, will be sad to leave our son, DIL and new granddaughter.

Yea, TT!!!
I am going to mat pilates at noon, Zumba & Yoga tonight. I am doubling up on the exercise because I leave for a trip on Friday. It's with 3 friends who I met when I started my teaching career with in 1975. We had so much fun together that still try to get together once or twice a year. None of the rest caught the exercise bug, so it will be my most inactive week of the year!! Other than walking on a beach (my favorite thing in the world), I will have to sneak into my bedroom and do situps/planks etc. if I want to do anything else physical.......

Walked 2.5 miles along beach today with my son and dog. Beautiful

Ruthbru - my daughter is currently heading your way, so I'm hopeful that the weather/roads are decent enough for her to make it back safely.
Morning workout today was mostly weights / strength / stretching.

Gray, cold, gloomy weather today - looks like a midwest winter day!
Went to donate blood this morning - first time they took my B/P it was 87/57 - they waited a few minutes and it went up to 90/60. Top number has to be 90 to donate. My blood pressure is never this low!!! the last few times at the doctor top number was 120s or low 130s. Not worried though. Then about 1/2 way done, my vein clots up and they moved the needle a few times but no success. Only got about 1/2 pint so can't be used. My veins used to be so good and blood would flow easily. I've had a few blood draws in the past year when they have struggled to get the blood. Limited to my left arm - Between donating blood every 2 months and multiple blood draws in 2019, I guess my vein is worn out. I'm a bit disappointed that my blood "donation" can't be used - Oh well.
Pretty much packed which is rare for me to be done before the 11th hour!!!

Pound, Nidra & back for a Barre Express (30 minutes). It is back to bitter cold weather again......

Hi ladies, there's a group of us who met on this thread who get together every year (Wonderland & I are the only ones who still stop by here regularly). This year we are going to the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in the suburbs of Las Vegas, June 12-17. We have 8 people signed up for the trip, and if you'd like to come along, we'd love for you to join us! It took us forever to pick a date; so if you'd be interested, PM me by March 1st. We are going to try to have all the arrangements in place soon thereafter.

Forgot to post yesterday--did a different type of yoga. And today I ran 4 1/2 miles EZ pace with strides.

Walked with the Wednesday Women, had an annual mammogram, a bone density scan, a dental appointment, walked dogs, and am now off to Zumba. Whew, I'm tired just writing that all down!
