Ruth - grand puppies are gorgeous!!

Beautiful day in Denver - sat outside reading this afternoon soaking up Vitamin D.

DH is still feeling fatigued but no other symptoms today, but he looks like he doesn't feel good. His PCP called tonight and told DH to demand to be seen by the cardiologist after the stress test. DH asked PCP about cardiac cath and PCP said he doesn't have enough information to justify it yet - but my gf who is an anesthesiologist who does many cardiac surgeries suggested to DH to have one since his last was 15 years ago. Hoping to get answers on Monday.

Why do I see trouble brewing, Ruth??? This pair needs a lot of exercise or else they will think up things that are fun for them only.

Hoping you get things sorted out soon, Karen. Time to insist on proper tests.

I realize that I never uploaded pictures from my birthday skiing adventure. Since I am grounded this weekend with car in autobody shop, thought it would be a good time to share. Contented myself with a six mile walk, exploring new watershed trails yesterday. Fascinating geology where I live about 20 miles east of Seattle. Lots of bog land on the plateau. Soggy though.

I am taking advantage of the Coronavirus panic to book airfare for two of my planned summer/autumn trips, saving the third for when I have sufficient AmEx points, which should happen with these two extra large purchases. I have an ambitious travel schedule, and paying 40% of what I had planned is just fabulous. I still have the balance of my Hebrides cycling tour to pay. So glad I am not doing the cheap route as like the idea of having my bags transported, flats repaired, help finding the scenic byways, nice places to stay, and good food and drink.

Here are some highlights from February and my trip to North Central Washington. Still need to have my birthday dinner. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. - Claire

Finally, doing up Valentine's Day in Seattle the right way. Just YUM, plus an amazing jazz singer. Left to right: Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Rose, Muller Thurgau, Riesling. All from Treveri Cellars. Still need to try the Nebbiolo from Wilridge, made at Treveri.

Nice photos Claire and Ruth, we watched Crufts over the weekend, your pups could make the cut on that - they are darling. Karen, hope your DH has forward momentum to wellness today.

Yesterday I had Pilates in the morning and a masterclass later in the afternoon for the new bodybalance/flow release 88 and was unimpressed - oh well. Sunny, spring like Monday morning and off the get this day going. Have pink pilates at 11am, another Pilates @ 1, yin @ 2 and back for Pilates at 5:30pm. Have a good start to the week everyone!

Yesterday was a 4 mile recovery run and today is the rest day. I always get antsy but I know the rest days matter in training.

Got ready to start painting interior of my rather large colonial house. All walls washed and prepped, furniture moved out. I was a bit sore at surgical site last eve. Good exercise though and keeps my thoughts from running away from me. Beautiful weather in Rhode Island. Today will be in 60's . Maybe spring is coming? On to radiation this am.

    Beautiful pictures, Claire!

    Ruth: Your grandpuppies are gorgeous!

Karen: Thinking about your dh and hoping he got some answers today.

LB: Love all the classes you lead. Your participants are so lucky to have you as their instructor!

edj: Sounds like your trainer is working you hard. Enjoy your rest days.

Martaj: Painting is strenuous work with all the prepping, moving furniture, painting, up and down ladder, and cleanup. I know you know this, but be cautious with your arm so you don't overwork it - but especially so you don't develop LE.

Good Evening Everyone. I've been walking, running regularly since I last posted. Recently I made a decision to start going to areas in my town that are overly littered and cleaning up. Can't stand litter and I have a few choice words for people do it. So today I put my plan to work and spend 1 hour picking up litter. Lot of plastic bottles, cups, potato chip bags, a few liquor bottles. I filled 2 large kitchen trash bags today. Disgusting!

That is awesome, Wonderland. I am sure that you are wearing gloves while you clean up after the slobs!

DH & I walked the grandpuppies today (anyone who wants a fun way to add more steps to their life should get, or borrow, a dog!). I went to Zumba & Yoga tonight.

Wonderland- that’s a great thing to do!

Karen- hope DH is doing ok and getting answers.

Ruth- your grand pups are adorable!

I did a body pump class yesterday and Zumba today. Starting in a slim down challenge at the Y this weekand the body pump class was part of the kickoff.

Survived the full moon and time change in school today. Not as wild as I thought it might be. It definitely helped that we had beautiful weather and a long outside time.

Off to Boston tomorrow for a bone density scan and my annual check up with the breast surgeon.

Wonderland, you will make a positive difference! Ginger, you sound really motivated and on track for success! Martaj, Wonderland has given sound advice, so easy does it with decorating while in these early days of recovery, especially if you had full nodal clearance, including, recently getting the pesky under arm seroma under control.

I'm going to read and watch online lectures for my course this morning. Yoga for Cancer is not on today as the hall is being used for the day. so only one class. I'm trying to get course work up to date for two practical days next week in London.

ran two miles yesterday did yoga today.

Wonderland have you ever read about David Sedaris' nighttime trash pick ups? It's a hilarious and funny obsession of his. Good for you to clean up. I remember once reading Anne Lamott and I think she was reporting on these monks who were walking from LA to SF on a peace walk. Any dead critter they found, no matter how small or big, received a dignified burial. So I think of them as I run the roads. A few weeks ago it was a tiny house Wren.

DH's surgery went well today - he's in cardiac ICU - I didn't get to see him till about 6:45 and visiting hours are over at 8 (due to Covid-19). He was quite uncomfortable and in a lot of pain (as expected). RN is keeping on top of his pain meds. She is also keeping him somewhat sedated since he is so restless. He needs to lay flat on his back for B/P. He will be in ICU till tomorrow evening or Friday morning. 5 days seems to be the average number days in hospital. One doctor said 3 - 5 another 5-7. I have mixed feelings about the restricted visiting hours, but in a way it forces me to take care of myself by coming home at a decent hour. Visiting hours were restricted starting yesterday.

I'll take next week off work as well as this week. Then I'll see about the week of the 23rd. The last week of the month is spring break. I put my away message on mid day Monday. I've checked emails, mostly to delete ones that I don't need to respond to. I haven't responded to emails since then. I'm in the middle of evaluating a student, but don't have the energy to see what I have done so far to write a report.

I training I was going to go to Friday (before all this with DH) was cancelled today - it is with U Colorado Denver. So many things being cancelled. Many universities are sending students home and doing distance or online learning.

Going to watch the 10 news in 20 minutes then hop into bed. I need to call DD#2 shortly, maybe when I get into bed so it won't be so early for her - right now she is 8 ours ahead - I texted her earlier so she knows how the surgery went but I haven't talked to her. Talked to DS and DD#1. I haven't talked to DD#2 since Monday afternoon when we called to tell her about the surgery. She was quite upset and worried - and my kids are so great - they worry about how I'm doing. Virtual hugs all the way round.

    Sweet dreams.

I'm glad his surgery went well--and yes, you must take care of yourself. I know you know that, but it does seem like women suck at the whole self-care thing.

Posting about exercise seems a little fluffy right now when you and your family have this on your plates--sending more love and prayers, no COVID-19 and kitty purrs (as long as you are good w/ cats, if you aren't--what's wrong with you??).

Went to grocery store today with a neighbor today since my jury duty got cancelled. Grabbed a few necessities and a couple of non-necessities. Spent the last hour prepping two heads of cauliflower for freezing. Also prepped one green pepper for storing in the fridge for salads and cut up the other two I got for freezing.

Karen, my 84 year uncle had that same surgery 20 years ago and he said it gave him a new lease on life. Once he recovered, he fell better than he had in years, and he started to really take care of himself as well. He is still going strong. May it be the same for your DH.

Yesterday I walked, subbed, and went to Zumba. Today I went to Pound and Yoga. We are now heading toward the State Basketball Tournament where our boys team plays at 8pm. We will just get day passes in case the whole thing is shut down early. Pretty scary stuff!

Karen: Hope your dh had a good night and an even better day. Still praying for him.

Falconer: Thanks for the link about David Sedaris. I really need to read his books! It's amazing that he walks 9 hours a day picking up trash. That's dedication! Love that the monks gave the dead animals they encountered on their walk a proper burial. I personally say a prayer for the dead animals I see on the road. All they were trying to do was cross it.

    Ruth: Go Bluejays!

I picked up litter again today. Filled 3 tightly packed 13 gallon trash bags (the large kitchen size). Lots of liquor and beer bottles. I find that quite disturbing.

(edited to add: I wear gloves, an orange vest, long pants, use a grab thingy to pick up the trash, and only go to locations where I feel safe working near a road)

We did win the game! A lot smaller crowd than there normally would be. We washed our hands a lot, did not touch any railings, and sat by people who have not been traveling. For the semi-finals tomorrow, they are going to clear the whole arena between each game & clean it down before letting the next group of fans in. Pretty surreal.

This Corona Virus thing is really scaring everyone here in RI. The gym I go to is off limits for 2 weeks. Some schools closed. No public events. I feel like I did when I was receiving chemo, home confined

    Hey Ruth good news!

Wonder good for you! And yes the large number of alcohol on the side of the road is always so odd to me- do people finish a bottle and chuck it out the window? I thought that only happened in 80s movies

We have a conference day at school and we will prepare ten days of remote learning should we need to close.

Ran for fifteen minutes before yoga then took an hour long class.
