Mine's Monday, cannot wait. I'm a bit compulsive about dental check ups, flossing, brushing etc. b/c I hate to have dental work done. So prevention is my bestie.

My school district announced today that we are going back in person with lots of guidelines. They have the option of full time online instruction k-12 for students whose parents don't want to send them into the school building for whatever reason. HR has emailed all staff asking about accommodations etc. 65+ is the only high risk group that doesn't need any documentation (duh - they already have that). They include staff who have at-risk family members at home as well as staff who are high risk. I'm happy to be able to do my job in person. But its 6 weeks till staff go back and 7 for kids so a lot can happen in that time. The district is also ready to switch to hybrid or distance learning should the need arise.
Storms are predicted for this evening - its getting windy and dark - just hope no hail as our petunias are beginning to look great. There are storm warnings including flash flood warnings but I think my part of town is not included in the map.
Have a good night and Saturday

Argh, Karen, the upcoming school year is as clear as mud!
It is going to be very hot here (for us). We've gotten zero rain this whole summer, so any grass that hasn't been watered is totally brown.

What a beautiful day yesterday. Walked 7 miles along beach, yard work. Then many laps in pool. The laps really helped my right arm with the stretching. That is arm nodes were removed. Felt good

Martaj, did you have all your lymph nodes removed on your surgical side? With your swimming, golf swing, kayak paddling reads that perhaps you have full range of movement on both right and left of your body? HeidiHill, beautiful hiking photos and Ruth, lovely flowers.
Mixed weather here as our heatwave passed so now high winds and intermittent showers. Don't know what I'll get into today as attention is focused on busted plumbing and have a new plumber to come over in a bit and offer opinion/estimate for both upstairs bathrooms. I started a 5 week online zoom qigong class a few weeks ago that originates from northern California. Finding it quite wonderful.

Lilac blue, I don't know how many nodes were removed from right axila area. I know quite a few. I have pretty good range of motion, but tightens up if I don't do my exercises daily. The swimming really helped with the stretching. Surgery was Feb 13, Sentinal node removal. Doing well at this point. Almost a year since diagnoses of TNBC, stage 3. Two more doses of clinical trial drug then done. Atezolizumab.

I walked and did Zumba yesterday. Zoom Yoga and or Barre Sculpt today. The heat index is super high so it's a 'thank goodness we have air conditioning' couple of days!

Martaj, Hope the trial is successful and from what you say, keeping your right side extending and moving keeps it loose and flexible - terrific!
Pilates & Yoga today and if wind calms, a long walk.

96 predicted for Denver today! Way too hot for me - 80s to low 90s rest of the week.

We are having your same weather, Karen. In the 90s and humid all week. Yuck!
I went to Pound this morning & will do Zumba tonight.

So hot & humid here in Kansas City, I guess the one upside of having a broken foot right now is I'm not running in this swampy weather.

A swamp is a good description for this weather!

I can't believe how hard it rained and the TS here yesterday. We needed rain badly, but the downpours and TS were quite a site. Made up deficit in rainfall for months of May and June. My lawn will need cutting again. Just cut it 2 days ago. Happy Tuesday everyone

Threw my back out Sunday. Yesterday had back spasms like child birth...no exercise for me for awhile.

96 yesterday in Denver, 81 today. Great 3+ hour hike in the mountains yesterday. Only 90 minutes from Denver. It was nice to get away. We saw friends on the trail!! Got some really great photos. Will post later. They are still on my phone, haven't loaded to computer yet.
Have a great day!

Felt really lazy today, took a nap, lots of TStorms, then decided to get on the treadmil and worked out for 40 mins. Feel so much better now. Beautiful out right now with 2/3 moon. So much for all the T Storms that pasted.

The Wednesday Walking Women celebratesvthe 4th of July with a walk on the grounds of an old fort on the edge of town. Fun & historical. (The only time we crowded together was for the picture. We are still bringing our own food and lawn chairs for our outdoor post-walk breakfast).

Hot & humid here in the greater Cincinnati area as well. Did a large grocery shop today & by the time I got groceries home, in the house, wiped down w/disinfecting wipes & put away worked up a good sweat, even with AC on. Doing laundry & running up & down steps now. May not get any other exercise today as feeling a bit under the weather with an infected tooth (taking antibiotics).
Stay cool and stay safe!

Currently 96 in Denver!!!! Way too hot for me. And even more so after 3 1/2 days in the mountains at 9100 feet above sea level. We enjoyed great hiking. So thrilled that DH was able to hike. He was tired, but it's really not that long since his surgery to be hiking at that altitude and length of hikes. Monday we hiked 3+ hours on a trail that we do frequently when we are there. Tuesday we hiked a difficult trail that has a fantastic view when you get to the top - it is a steep uphill climb with no breaks of flat terrain - another 3 hours. Yesterday we went on a new trail and ended up hiking 4 hours!! My legs were sore!! Today short hike, only 75 minutes on our way home. We went to Frisco, CO which is about 75 minutes from our house. It is near Breckenridge and Copper Mountain but it is not a ski town.
Just tried posting pictures but bco won't let me. Will try again in another post.

I went to Dance2fit & Barre Sculpt today. It is really hot and muggy here too. Ugh! The heat index today was 99. We've been taking the dogs out for very short walks. It's too hot for them also.

Karen: Sounds like you and your dh had a fabulous time. Hope you can post pictures, would love to see them.
Hi Everyone! I haven't been on for awhile. Life has pretty much been the same for me. I should be at the beach this week with my side of the family (would have been our 32nd year going) but we cancelled due to the virus. Luckily we have reserved the same house for next year and the money we paid so far will be carried over for next year.
I've been walking/running, pulling weeds, spreading pine needles, and mowing, mowing, mowing. We mow every 6 days now bc the grass is very thick and hard to push through if we let it grow too much between mows.
Read an article today about college students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama having COVID parties with a twist. There are cash rewards for the first one to get infected. The party organizers invite people they know who have the disease. People at the party put money in a pot and whoever is diagnosed first with COVID gets the money.
WTH has the United States come to?!?!?!? Are these kids that selfish, ignorant, don't give a sH!t, think everything is a party? Wonder who gets the cash when the first grandpa dies bc he came intact with one of partiers. The whole mask dilemna has been outrageous but this one has blown me away.
We are losing the war against the virus in the US and this is just one example of why.

it will only let me post 2 photos at a time. I’ve posted several photos on fb, but none with me or DH.
Wonder, we really had a nice time. It was a longer over due vacation. We got to Frisco around noon on Monday and did not get back in the car till we headed home today.

Karen, terrific photos and lovely one of you and hubby.
One gym emailed me their new timetable for when they open, I had three classes and now down to one class. We have yet to have a date for opening gyms, although gyms can have outdoor classes for up to 5. With the on/off showers we are experiencing daily, not feasible at the moment. Ordered the Reebok 3 set masks in small because I think we will have to wear masks and they have gotten really good reviews for a mask to use during sport/workouts. My dh went to the new, local public drive-through Covid-19 testing on Wednesday (UK government has been awful in dealing with pandemic - what do you expect with a populist PM?) and tested negative. I'm appalled at still being one of perhaps 3 in a grocery store of at least 50, who are wearing a mask~sigh.

Gorgeous pictures, Karen!!
The handling of the virus has been equally bad, if not worse in the U.S. Lilac. I don't know that it can ever be brought under control without a NATIONAL strategy......sigh, the chance of that happening under the current administration is slim to none.
No formal exercise for me today. I finished housecleaning, did some yard work & will do something short with the dogs (too hot for them & us). Our big backyard 4th of July picnic for 20-30 people has been whittled down to 8 people (including DH & myself). Inside of tables, we'll sit in a circle in lawn chairs & TV trays. I have disposable gloves to put on when getting your food, tongs, individual bags of chips, all disposable silverware, plates etc. We can play croquet with no problem since everyone has his/her own mallet & ball. If people want to play other lawn games, maybe it would be okay as long as they put on hand sanitizer (which I will have out) before and after they play corn hole, ladder ball etc.

Thanks for the posting the lovely pics, Karen.
Wonderland, Lilac Blue & Ruth Bru - agree with your observations in re this blasted virus. Received 2 masks from my Medicare Supplement provider, Humana, earlier this week. They are very well made, comfy ear loops & nose bridge that can be formed to fit securely. Hoping DH's provider, United Healthcare will send him some as well. We had been using sewn masks w/ties that dear SIL was kind enough to send us early in the outbreak, but these are a welcome addition.
Waiting to see if KY governor will follow OH governor's lead and make masks mandatory, with a fine if not wearing. I feel for those souls who are working in essential businesses/functions who are doing their best to keep us/them safe & then people come in without masks.
Hope everyone has a safe 4th July. Funny story - DH is a Brit & many years ago we were in USA for the 4th. My Mom asked him what they do in the UK for the 4th. His tongue-in-cheek response: "We celebrate ridding ourselves of the colonials."
