Thanks Ruth! Wish we were back in the hot air balloon and floating above our troubles for awhile.

I ended up going to a Step & a Zumba class tonight, so I am pooped!

Nothing for me yesterday. Intended to walk the 2 miles to music team rehearsal at church after dinner but felt like I ran into a brick wall around 5pm. Ended up dozing on the floor for a bit after I laid down to stretch out a little. Wondering if the brick wall effect was a side effect of flu shot Tuesday.
I heard a radio add yesterday for Skechers Go Walk pants/leggings and googled them last night. The leggings and running tights all have two side pockets and the pants (looser legs) have four pockets. Put a handful of pretty colors in my Amazon cart but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I also need to look into finding some good walking/running shoes with really good arch support. Anyone have a good arch support fave brand?
Hey - I know those ladies in the balloon! I was in the other balloon that beautiful morning . What a great trip that was! Really missed seeing you all this year .
Wonderland - your creativity never ceases to astound me - beautiful pumpkins!
Hoping for at least a handful of sunny, dry, warmish days yet as I still have about 14 hours of deck rail/spindle painting to finish up. Long term forecast right now looks like maybe Sat 10th and Sun 11th could be a possibility, unless I take a day or two off work instead. Will post some before/after pics when complete. Totally loving how it's turning out.
Lilac - A trip to England is still on my unofficial bucket list..........sigh

Sweet, a PT recommended Asics Contend to me and I have found them very good.
I went to Pound this morning & will do some evening class & Zoom Yoga tonight (too cold for Yoga in the Park).
On a totally non-exercise related topic, has anyone ever tried stick-on wallpaper?
0 -
Not me - most of my house used to be wallpapered (the old fashioned way) and I swore no wallpaper ever, ever, ever, ever again
0 -
I took an 'no wallpaper' oath too, but I have a little bathroom (previously wallpapered) that I don't like no matter what color I paint it. I was thinking if the new stick-on/peel off wallpaper actually works, it would be a cheaper/easier fix than tiling or something more permanent that I'm not sure I'd like either. Sigh......

Sigh... the balloon Fiesta got postponed until 2021. Love seeing those pics though!
I've been a bit off the exercise wagon the past week or so...just lots of work and distractions, but have done some walking and slowly getting back into it...

All great advice on the pants everyone - thank you! Funny story, DH was looking through his adventure clothes trunk for a windbreaker, and he pulls out a pair of black pants that he thought were a pair of his long johns - nope, they were my black pants with pockets that I had misplaced a couple of years ago and looked everywhere for! These were my go to pants (I still have 2 other pair, but with retirement and covid they are looking pretty ratty), so now I have a fresh pair to tide me over in my search for pants with pockets. My one complaint about these pants is the legs are a little too loose looking for me, but otherwise they hit all my marks. I noticed they now make a straight leg and slim version of these, so I may just have to try them to see how the legs look.
Yesterday DH and I took a drive north in search of fall colors, and did a nice hike at Quabbin Reservoir. Very little fall color, but a lovely hike and view, and it was a comfortable and warm day to boot.

Good for you Pat on "finding" the perfect pant. I like "finding" magical money at this time of year when I reach for a pair of jeans put up last March/April (we don't wear full length jeans much in warm months in SE Virginia) with a 10 or 20 laundered in the pocket!

Anyone remember, or at least remember reference to, the old song 'Pennies From Heaven'? I sometimes experience something I call 'Dollars From The Dryer'. You know, those times you open the dryer door and dollar bills fly out because DH forgot to empty his pants pockets (again) and DW forgot to do the double check (again) before throwing them in the washer? Those are some good times!

Steep hill workout tonight - about an hour

Cleaned the house, put away the lawn furniture (boo hoo.....it is now raking season), and took the grandpuppies for a long walk.

Just catching up to the postings. Hello to all!
Wonderland - Belated happy birthday! Those are some really great looking pumpkins you painted.
Ruthbru - Your photos are always so lovely! How about hanging one or more small, but colorful prints or photos on your bathroom walls, instead of wallpaper?
pat01 - Walks on the beach and lobstah rolls - what heaven! Nice photo of Quabbin.
Lilac - Hope you enjoyed your time in London. Miss living there.
Doing lots of exercise via Zoom. Silver Sneakers now has a couple of good classes on Sat and Sun, as well as during the week.
Very autumnal weather here in N. Kentucky (near Cincinnati, OH) and leaves are just beginning to change. Bye for now and stay safe everyone!

Played pickleball last night with a new to me group. I feel like I am getting better but still the worst one out there. The person who invited me to the group was not there, so a little awkward, felt a bit like crashing a private party, but if I am to improve at all I need to play more than once a week. I probably will go back to this group at least one more time to see if it is a good fit for me, and next week I will explore another group in a different town. Tomorrow I will play with my initial Sunday afternoon group.

I went to Pound & stayed for Zumba this morning. I went to a drive-by birthday party for a special needs girl I know, and we visited our little old lady friend in the Nursing Home this afternoon. It has been COLD the last couple days, but the meteorologists promise that it will be nice next week, so I'm dressing in layers and NOT turning on the heat!

Wonderland...those pumpkins are beautiful! You are very talented!
Pat...yay for finding your "new" pants!!
Ruth...I have turned our heat on at night a few times and then turn it back off in the morning. Still have had AC running some days and days with our windows wide open. Hubby just shakes his head. Fall in ND right?
Ran 12 miles this morning. A beautiful 42* with no wind. Great running weather. Finished the last of my canning this morning. Tried Cowboy Candy ( jalapenos) and now watching football. Will run a few miles tomorrow and do some strength work.

My exercise for today was playing with Nugget. When he gets going, he is hard to stop until he crashes. Now he’s laying on my lap crashed out and my leg is going to sleep on me.Lol

Zoom Yoga and a lovely walk.

Hello everyone,
I was doing so well on my exercise; Getting back to Zumba and working hard and then bam- I get another case of shingles. This is the second since school started. So frustrating and painful!
Today we did the Jimmy Fund Walk. It was a virtual event so we walked it as a family in Newton, MA. One bright side was that my daughter (who works for the Jimmy Fund Walk) actually got to walk it with us for a change. She usually has to work the whole weekend. I had to walk it slowly but we did it. The weather was perfect.
Beautiful pictures, Ruth.Congrats on finding your lost pants, Pat. It’s so hard to buy clothes when you can’t try them on.
Nice pumpkins, Wonderland. You are very talented!
Back to light walks for me...sigh

Ruth...Yes!! What a weird game!
Ginger...Yikes! Speedy recovery!
Ran down to our camper this morning to finish a few things before completely locking it up for the year so Lucy and I snuck in 1 last walk along the beach. Ran 4 miles and a strength cicuit with my motr group this evening.

Oh Ginger, I so feel for you. The whole body pain weirdness of shingles is horrible. Take good care and try to destress if possible. Wonderland, happy belated birthday and stunning, creative pumpkins! Celia C., London is amazing and we lived there for two years before moving out to the hinterlands of Kent. Ruth, Pat, Celia that for the photos!
Wet, grey Monday morning. I need to download to my phone the NHS track & trace app in order to be able to work in the gym that I teach at on Monday & Tuesday. Why we bother because yesterday it was announced that 16,000 coronavirus cases missed in daily figures after an IT error! Have a good start to the week!

Well now that I have a harness for Nugget, his walks around the neighborhood will start.

Last week was odd. I saw the podiatrist, still having pain so I asked her if the x-rays showed the bone healing. She said that honestly there's not much difference between a bone on the way to healing and a healed bone, that you need an MRI for that. So I'll see her in another month and if I still have pain, we'll get the MRI. The pain on top of my foot also continues along with the nerve pain shooting down to my big toe (esp when I point my toes). She said that could possibly be a stress fracture, there are a lot of joints in the top of the foot. So that too will get checked in a month if it's still aggravating me.
Then the really weird part--I bought a couple of SHEFIT bras after seeing their ads in my IG feed. I love them and so when I got one of those auto generated emails from their marketing department asking me to review the bra, I did.
Friday I got this email directly from someone in the marketing department:
I am reaching out on behalf of the SHEFIT marketing team. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are sharing reviews from customers that have been affected by this disease and have found support by using SHEFIT Bra's through their journey. Your review has been selected as one we would like to feature in our social channels.
Your review: "I was already difficult to fit in sports bras (small chest, bigger cup size) and then I had breast cancer. Now I've had a lumpectomy and radiation and my left breast is way different than my right. It doesn't matter with this bra--both sides are fully supported, there's no digging into painful spots and running no longer hurts my breasts. I'm glad I took a chance on this bra."
We are reaching out to request a photo of you in your SHEFIT to go along with your review. We can provide you with 1 free bra of your choice for taking part. However, if you do not feel comfortable, I totally understand. If you would like to share your social handles we can tag you in our post.
Please send photos by Monday, Oct 5th.
And well, I decided to do it. My husband is a great photographer so he helped me out. In fact, he asked me to flex as you'll see in this photo, and here's my reply:
Thanks for reaching out--have to say, this is a first for me I gathered up my courage and got some photos for you, which are attached. If you do post these, my IG name is edjcat, my Twitter is edj3 and I'd rather not be tagged on FB since I use my full real name there.
I also want to share the two reasons I decided to do this, whether you use my photos or not.
First, one of the things that drew me to your brand was the diversity in your models. Women aren't all young and thin and white, and I appreciated so much that you show more than just that. But I didn't see any older women, which definitely describes me. I turned 60 this year and have always been active, I'm an avid runner (half marathon is my favorite distance) and do a lot of strength work as well. It's important to know there's life after a breast cancer diagnosis (and actually also after a melanoma diagnosis), and that women can be fit at any stage of their lives.

Wow, edj, that is awesome! That is a gorgeous picture and I am extremely impressed by (actually jealous of) your super-toned arms!!!! I am going to check out those bras. Any sizing tips?
I am off to Pound in a few minutes, probably will walk dogs this afternoon & Zumba tonight.

Aw thanks, ruthbru!
They've got a sizing guide on their website but the best thing in my opinion about these bras is the velcro. That band around my ribs is super wide and I could cinch it up so it fit (small band size for me), and then each strap has Velcro too. So on the left side (cancer side and that breast is both lopsided and bigger now), I could get the fit just right and then cinch the right strap tighter.
Their bras zip and have two hooks on the skin side of the zipper. I do reach in and get my breast just so in the bra but I do that with all my bras. Truly do love these, not an ad just a happy customer.

Took Nugget on his first official walk around the block. Now on to housework

Oh Ginger, sorry to hear about the shingles.
Edj3 - WOW - that is a wonderful picture of you - strong and determined!
Played pickleball yesterday, I'm getting better! Also picked up classical stretch again, pickleball has been hard on my knees, and stretching certainly helps.
