Numbers are rising in Kansas too, and alas we do have a mask mandate. But the rural areas aren't complying and you can tell by the increase in cases.

not to be too political, but it annoys me that they start talking about election results (of any national election) before the polls close in CA, OR, WA, NV and other Pacific time zones. Heck poles are still open for another 1 hour 35 minutes in CO! Just not right. They shouldn't be allowed to tell numbers or % as long as any poles are open. Okay, I'll step off my soap box
Ruth - gorgeous views.

edj, what did you find out about your foot?
We took the puppies to a state park for some great hiking. I went to Barre Sculpt when I got home and am now going to sit down and not do anything!

Relaxing with a glass of wine after 4.5 BEAUTIFUL miles with my running group tonight. 70* high 62* when i ran tonight. Unbelievable! I ran in shorts! In November!
Edj...yes fingers crossed you were given the OK!.
Ruth enjoy these next few days! These temps are wonderful!

Edj3, hope the green light is given! Ruth, love the photos of the dogs.
I'm here online at 3:26am checking on the voting results. Our life is going back to lockdown on Thursday for 1 month and 3 of my classes will be on Zoom for the gym I work for that hanging on by a thread. That is the only work I have during lockdown. Numbers here are through the roof as well and our government has dealt so poorly with Covid; quite a mess.

Good morning all-- news is not yet definitive. I've had pain on the top of my foot w/ shooting nerve pain down into my big toe since March. X-rays don't show anything and of course the actual broken metatarsal got all the attention. I think I mentioned that I went to a podiatrist for that pain and she's the one who ordered the bone growth stimulator, which I do think/hope is helping that fracture.
But that other pain & nerve pain is still present and now I get pins and needles too. I have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow, which I mentioned to the orthopedist yesterday. He was on board with that and offered to review the findings in addition to the podiatrist. So I'll do that. I think my bones just stink.

Argh! Very frustrating! 😕
WWW walked the golf course's 18 holes this beautiful morning. It might be our last mild Wednesday so we seized the day! We'll probably walk the dogs this afternoon, and I'm signed up for Zumba tonight.

I love the pictures!
Power walked with weights today.

My back has been so bad since Shingles and very disrupted sleep. Got in a short walk in the last of the daylight. I really dislike when it gets dark this early.
Karen- I totally agree re broadcasting results before polls close. Very unnecessary.
I am definitely holding my breath waiting for results. We need a change.
Those Covid percentages are scary, ladies. Stay safe! We are 4-6% lately and that’s too high for my liking. I think we are heading into the next wave for sure. I am just thankful that my rural school is still meeting in person and no cases so far. Fingers crossed...Faces masked.

Edj3, you most likely have told us, yet does osteoporosis run through the women in your family? Ginger, you have been through the mill with horrible shingles and sorry to read of your back as well. Like the surprisingly mild weather for yesterdays WWW walk!
Well, here it is lockdown starts today that is supposedly to end December 2nd. We are heading up in our 2nd spike and yesterday the UK has registered 492 new coronavirus deaths over the latest 24-hour period. It's painful to see and hear on the news that some people actually think this is a hoax - a scam. It blows my mind that many can't accept reality. It's bonfire night here in the UK that is a sort of like the 4th of July, fireworks and bonfires lit. I drove home last night after my last class at 8:30pm from Folkestone on the channel and lot's of fireworks being set off from the town
. Today is also my birthday - so when I went downstairs to make coffee and take the dog out for a wee, loads of roses where waiting for me on the kitchen table- lovely. Bathroom coming down the home stretch, shower screen in, mirror hung just a bit more grouting and the guys will be here in 40 minutes so I'd better get a move on. What I really want for my birthday? Joe Biden to be president.

Happy birthday, Lilac! I hope your birthday wish comes true! I am finally on a routine with exercise. I am getting at least 10,000 steps a day and trying to get 30 activity minutes, as well, on my Fitbit. We have a hilly trail that goes down to a creek that is about 1,000 steps in a loop. I get half my steps at school teaching and half on the trail. I don’t post often but check in here every day for encouragement. Have a nice, active day!0

Happy Birthday, Lilac! I hope your birthday wish comes true, and soon before I have a nervous breakdown. Love the looks of your new bathroom!
Our unusually nice weather holds on. We cleaned out insides of the cars & ran them through the car wash yesterday. Today I am going to clean windows & I know we'll be walking the dogs too. Pound this morning, Barre Sculpt and/or Dance2fit tonight.

Happy birthday, Lilac!! And WOW that bathroom is gorgeous!
Re osteoporosis in my family, alas as with the melanoma and breast cancer, I am the only one with osteoporosis. Which feels so unfair because I've lifted weights my whole life, I've run, worked out, maintained a good weight and eaten quite healthy foods, don't smoke, don't drink much, I'm a regular Girl Scout. Oh and I never did tanning beds, rarely got a sunburn (thanks dark hair/dark eye complexion). And yet here I am.
Why yes, I'll take some (vegan) cheese with my (organic) whine!

Peregrinelady, Ruth & edj3 for the birthday wishes! Nothing like a lockdown birthday on pins and needles to truly celebrate! It must be awful on tv right now and I keep flipping between NYT, WP and Guardian to see if anything has come through on election results. edj3, you really had the bad draw on having osteoporosis without a family history of it. Here, let me top up that wine.

LOL thanks!
And yes, you're reading the same sources as I am and I can hardly bear it. Fortunately it's the middle of my workday so I have that to distract me.

Happy Birthday Lilac! Your bathroom is so pretty. I hope they got it finished today.
Ginger...I am very sorry you have suffered so much since Shingles. I am right there with you holding my breath waiting for the election to be called. So praying for Joe Biden to be our president.
Power walked with weights today.

Ginger: So sorry about your Shingles pain. How awful for you.
edj: Here's hoping that your MRI will give answers to your pain.
LB: Happy Birthday! That's a fabulous birthday wish and hoping it comes true for you and all of us! Love your bathroom!
Hi Everyone! Dh and went to a State Park and hiked all day. It was Gorgeous! 65 degrees, low humidity. Simply amazing. Drinking wine now.

Happy birthday Lilac Hope it's been a good day. My 3 kids and I all had birthdays during lock down!!! (March and May). DH is in October - but DD#1 and SIL are usually here around his birthday and not this year so it felt lonely. DD#2 roommates made her a birthday cake and a couple of her bff live close by so she did have a good bday. I miss my parents and MIL birthdays more than I did having a birthday in lock down.
The past few nights, I've been falling asleep between 8 and 9pm. This time change gets harder the older I get. I'm awake at 4:00 and lay in bed till 5 or so -
The Governor of Colorado is saying to cancel November social plans. Denver positivity is 10%. 3300 new cases since yesterday. More cases than in the spring. We are in the "orange" range, just one step away from stay-at-home. A local school district is going fully remote and CU Boulder is too. 1 in 100 people in Colorado are considered to be positive for Covid. Unbelievable. My school district is pretty much remote grades 3 and up. I got tested yesterday - no symptoms but school district is encouraging everyone to test every 2 weeks - if I'm not in a school building no reason to test - but I was 2 weeks ago.
My kid cousin (she's not a kid, but almost 20 years younger than me, hence kid cousin) is posting picture/making an album on fb of family photos going back 50s - she is cleaning out the family house - her mom moved to assistive living earlier this year - its fun to see some of the pictures. She said she has thousands of photos to go through. My brother's wedding anniversary and either he or my SIL posted a wedding photo on fb and it was wow - look how young they were - well 34 years younger!!! I remember what I wore to the wedding but not what my DD#1 was as she was 6 months old. Then my SIL posted a photo of her and her son as a baby as it was his 50th birthday - I would not have recognized her.
Starting to run with 2# weights in the morning. Today I skipped them and wow, it was so much easier. DH is encouraging me to run with them at least 3 times/week.
Dentist cleaning today -relatively uneventful. They are keeping an eye on a tooth that is root canal and crown - but if she messes with it, I'll probably loose the tooth and need implant. Dentist doesn't to mess with it till absolutely necessary, and as long as i'm on Prolia, no pulling teeth!!!
Time to go start dinner.
Have a good Thursday night!!

Don't know if it's only my computer, but the pictures I posted look squashed. I'm not that boxy

You and the scenery both look great, Wonderland!
Karen, I am having trouble adjusting to the time change too. I wake up & just wait around for the day to start, and then crash in the evening. North Dakota has a 17% positivity rate! My county just went into the high risk zone. The school board is meeting Monday to try to figure out what to do. The grade schools have been full-time since the beginning of the year, the middle school just went from a hybrid back to full time two weeks ago & the high school is supposed to start back full time in two weeks (despite the protests of the teachers). I talked to a teacher friend & 30% of the kids in the 8th grade were absent yesterday. Scary, scary times....and we have zero leadership from our state government, they just make 'suggestions'.
I could use a big glass of wine right about now.....organic or not!!!

Thank you cm2020, Wonderland and Karen for the B'day wishes. Wonderland, hiking all day long with sunshine and gorgeous views - lucky you and smashing photos.
I don't know how you all are taking the media onslaught. Was hoping to wake to the results this morning. Here is a article entitled: My favourite place among the trees I love trees and when a little girl my grandmother in her back field had a huge old lemon tree that I would talk to and pour my heart out to. Truly loved that tree. I have a Pilates class to teach on zoom at 12:15 and going to the gym for the zooming and it nice to get out. The drag of the lockdown 2.0 is staying home so much. Hang in there beautiful women - let's keep at it!

Lilac, I don't pay attention to the news - it might be on, but like now I'm here and really can't pay attention to the TV and what I'm writing. The outcome will be the same whether we make ourselves crazy waiting for the results or just wait. Hopefully the outcome will be what is best for the country. Sounds like you had a nice birthday. My grandparents had an apple tree that the neighborhood kids climbed and took apples. Grandma made applesauce and apple pie. I was a teenager till I knew you could buy applesauce in a jar in the store!!!
Nice warm run at 7:00a - going to do steps with DH in about 20 minutes, then get busy cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking, my typical Friday. The NW mountains are forecast to get a couple feet snow on Sunday - none predicted for Denver yet. Keystone ski resort opened today with one run manmade snow, the base is ground!! There is one guy who for the past 10 years is always first in line opening day. Even when I skied I never skied in November or April. We broke or tied record highs at least 3 days this week - 77 and 79 degrees. Great photo Ruth.
Have a great day everyone.

Wonderland, you look great. You are so very fit.

I love this thread. I have followed it for years. YOU ladies are amazing and have gotten me through some pretty tough times with cancer scares, exercise injuries and covid fears to name a few. Through it all you guys remain positive and keep on moving forward. Thank you so much for posting. It is always the bright spot in my day to see new messages to read. It will get me through this long winter with the lockdowns looming.

Hi Coffee, good to 'see' you here. It is the best thread of all (in my humble opinion)!
Another very nice bonus day here. No 'formal' exercise for me, but I am going to log out and go for a walk now & later take the dogs out.

Wonderland you look fantastic! The scenery is beautiful as well.
Got in my power walk with weights this morning and feeling quite proud of how consistent I am being. Just need to keep it up.

Hello all!
TGIF! I have officially survived (barely) the week before Halloween with a full moon and the week after Halloween with a time change and an election. There have been some frightful behaviors at daycare these last 2weeks! I am rewarding myself with a nice glass of red this evening. 2 dads are out of town hunting all weekend so next week isnt looking much better. At least I am closed Wed. Ran 6 miles yesterday band will run 13-14 tomorrow morning with my group. Tonight I walked the dog after work.
Happy Belated Birthday Lilac!
Edj...sorry to hear no definite news on foot. Do u take anything for the osteoporosis? I was diagnosed with it this summer. My oncologist started me on Fosamax in June.
Hope all have a great weekend! Running and closet cleaning and social distancing in the garage with my mom and step dad are what's on my agenda. Hate not getting to see them very often.

Runnersmum, I do take something. Because I had a fractured pelvis from running, my endocrinologist started me on Prolia. Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to the second shot, so now I'm on Tymlos which is a daily injection. Tymlos (or Forteo) can only be taken for 2 years max because of some potentially lethal side effects.

I did PiYo and also Zumba this morning. I have been very happily watching the election news since I got home. Since I haven't slept in four years, I believe I will take a nap!
