I've washed bedding, done some more shopping, and painted my toenails today. This weekend I need to pin down The Happy Couple about the Final Details. It's not that hard being the Mother-of-the-Groom (as long as you can keep your mouth shut and smile). 😃

Met a friend for a very short walk. Painted 2 more pumpkins. Bigfoot is for a friend of mine - added the owl bc she loves owls. I give these pumpkins to family and friends.

    Love the pumpkins, Wonderland.

I didn't do any formal exercise yesterday, but spent quite a few hours transplanting perennials. My old neighbor had a beautiful perennial garden and the people who bought her house want to get rid of it & said I could take whatever I wanted….so I did!

Yoga this morning. It's a rainy, rainy day & I ended up taking a nap.

Today's my birthday. #68! Yesterday we went to see the touring show Chicago. It was fabulous and inspiring to watch those young bodies move in ways I can't anymore. 😀

Today dd brought over ice cream with a candle in it. Mint Chocolate Chip - my favorite!

Happy Birthday, Wonderland!! It sounds like a very fun celebration!

It was still raining today. I danced around to Marshall Fitness videos for about 45 minutes and went to Yoga.

Happy Happy (belated) Birthday! What a wonderful "cake" your favorite ice cream with a candle, love it.

Also really love all those pumpkins Wonderland, you are so talented.

The tropical storm was interesting…we had 3-4 inches of rain in a 24 hr period, yesterday afternoon when I was doing grocery shopping the town really looked like a mess with debris all over the place, but my thought was we had really dodged a bullet…no major trees down, just debris. No power outage, just flickers. BUT, when I went for my regular Sunday evening yoga class, I heard some bad stories…it started Friday late afternoon for us and Saturday was the main event. We decided we would stay at home and read and figure out another time to do our Saturday around town chores…which was the wise choice. All my friends who had trouble had decided to go out on Saturday morning in the height of the bands of the storm and found driving impossible, cars in ditches…Home and reading never looked so good!

Have been thinking of you Ruth and the big countdown to Saturday, glad you are clicking through your chore list. Blessing to all your way.

Happy Fall, really starting to see it here in SE Virginia...finally days consistently in the 70's, perfect! TT

I went to Zumba and then started on 'The List'. I took out a big piece out tag board and have written down everything I have to do between now and next Monday (when the last of my company leaves). I am glad to report I got everything on today's list done!

TT: Where I live in NC mainly got rain and some wind - nothing like the coast. Good for you for staying home and reading instead of landing in a ditch!

Ruth: On to Tomorrow's List! Just realized this is the same weekend my dd got married last year (Oct. 1). Hope your weather is clearing up for you!

Mowed for 95 minutes. Slightly cooler weather made it almost enjoyable today.

Fingers are crossed on the weather. At this very moment, Saturday is predicted to be 76 and partly cloudy……which would be perfect!

Well, my teaching schedule this fall is killing my ability to get to the gym at lunch, which is my best time for midweek classes given my at home after school responsibilities…ugh, I'm not liking it. Missed yesterday and today. Will have to find another plan…TT

I hate when that darn schedule gets in the way of when I want to exercise.

I went to Pound this morning, Zumba & Yoga tonight. I am loading up on the exercise since I won't time as the weekend gets closer. I also bought more groceries, vacuumed & dusted the upstairs, washed towels etc, & did a little yard work. I pretty much need to finish up the house tomorrow as the first company comes in Thursday afternoon!

TT: Hope you can find something that will work with your schedule.

    Ruth: Won't be long now!

No exercise today. Dh and I went to Walgreens for our flu and covid vaccines. Decided to get them together and not have to go back. So far all is good.

I painted 2 more pumpkins. My brother designs and makes kites for our trips to the beach so I painted a Halloween beach scene for him. It's hard to see bc of the curve in the pumpkin but there is a "seabat" flying in the sun.

The cat is supposed to be in front of a blood moon. Think the moon got a little too bloody lol.

    Very cute, Wonderland!

Here's the Wednesday Walking Women picture. I will probably stay off the computer for the rest of the week since I will be concentrating on 'wedding stuff'. In fact, I better get off right now! My first guests roll in tomorrow!!

Ruth - enjoy your company and have a wonderful wedding. Look forward to seeing photos. Congrats to the whole family on such a joyous occasion

Thank you! It's 9:00pm and I just sat down. I think I'm at the 'lets get the show on the road' phase as I am tired of getting ready! My first guests roll in tomorrow.

Happy Days ahead Ruth. Enjoy every minute! It has been a long time coming.

Got to Tai Chi yesterday…the teacher wanted to know if I was "mad" with him given all the classes I had missed…after nearly a year without a miss, I am now a constant every other week person, ugh! Oh well, happy I got there, even though it meant coming back to school and being here until nearly 7pm yesterday,

Love the pumpkins Wonderland…it is a full moon on Friday! TT

Ruth: Have a fabulous weekend and try not to cry too much at the wedding!

TT: Your teacher misses you! Glad you are able to go at least every other week.

Walked this evening. It's definitely getting cooler. What a relief.

Speaking of a full moon, I altered the blood moon pumpkin to make it look more moony. Finished painting 10 pumpkins. Thanks for letting me share some of them with you.

    Happy October everyone.

Hope your DS's day/weekend was all you had hoped for Ruth, at least the weather looked to be cooperating in your area of the country.

Got to the gym yesterday and will be going to a yin yoga class at lunchtime. My left knee keeps getting annoyed and swollen…need to figure out what is going on there.

After 10+ days of dearly cloudy/no sun days, the sun has finally returned to Virginia! And even though it is October, today's high is supposed to hit 80…a week of high 70's await, just perfect.

Have a great start to the week, TT

We had a wonderful wedding weekend. Everything was beautiful, meaningful, and very fun. I got my exercise by helping to set up & take down. Dancing the night away at the Wedding Dance, and hosting company (mostly outside which means lots of running up & down Pati steps. I am going to a Pound Glow charity event from 7:30-9:00 tonight. We will get glow sticks and do the class in the dark at a baseball stadium. Should be fun!

Here's a picture of DS & his beautiful bride.

Ruth - love radiates in this photo. Was the wedding in your yard?

No. There was an old abandoned summer camp on the edge of town right on the river. I used to walk the dogs there and always thought someone should buy it and make it into a wedding venue....and somebody did! It's a beautiful setting!

Oh Ruth, that picture is beautiful! You can feel their Love just looking at it. So happy for all of you!

And her bouquet is gorgeous! You have mentioned that her mother has a flower shop. Did she make it? So pretty!

Yes, DIL (how fun to say that!), her mom & a good friend made all the bouquets, boutonnieres, flowers for the tables, an arch they were married under, and other decorations themselves. Saving tons of money & they could not have been nicer

    How lovely, thanks for sharing!

Will walk to our city hall at my lunch time to pay the water bill and get some exercise…busy time right now, so planned to "double dip" by walking my way around town while doing errands. TT

Here's the Wednesday Walking Women. We walked at a Pumpkin Patch run by the Shriners (hence the clown) which raises money for their Children's Hospitals.

Ruth: That flower arch is AMAZING!!! Just AMAZING!!! Love the Welcome sign. The ladies did a fabulous job!

    (The clown is hilarious!)

    TT: How is your knee?

Walked yesterday and over the weekend. On Saturday I'm going to Hilton Head for the week with my 2 sisters and SIL. My sister has a timeshare there and this is her week. This will be my 3rd time going with them.

Wow Ruth, that photo looks like a turn to cooler/cold weather…definitely Fall, but beautiful and fun. We have been having some really nice days here, mornings cool 57/58, afternoons a pleasant mid/upper 70's…ideal.

Next week is combined Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day and Fall Break at my school, so we have a house in the NC Outer Banks for the week (Duck). While I will have Monday and Thursday/Friday, I will leave the family at the beach and return crack of dawn on Tuesday to teach Tuesday/Wednesday returning late Wednesday…I have been doing this for years, but these kinds of weeks make retirement even more attractive — just stay at the beach!

Enjoy your time at Hilton Head, I've only been there once but was really impressed with the wide hardpacked beaches that were perfect for walking.

My knee is still having a mind of its own…it is either swollen and "stuck" feeling…or "collapses"/gives out. Ugh.

    Lucky Ladies at the Beach!

TT, the thing I like the best about retirement is the flexibility! (The lack of paperwork is the thing I like the second best.)

I went to Pound this morning & I plan to go back to Dance2fit & Yoga tonight. My very dear aunt (and the last relative on either side of the family from that generation), has passed away & her funeral (in Wisconsin) is on Sunday……so we will be on the road this weekend. Yikes, I wouldn't have time to work right now!!

Got my flu and Covid vaccines yesterday after work. My arm is so sore - it hurts to move. Didn't feel great last night. Will see how today goes. Getting my RSV on Tuesday after work.

    Wonder - have fun!
