Val--just read your horrible story about your DD and grandkids. So glad they are safe. You said now they need a new vehicle. What did insurance say? The neighbor was a fault. I hope they get a BIG settlement and they can buy the "new" used car.
To you others, just starting this journey, or first time posters, you're in the right place. We're here for you.

I have been keeping up reading the posts in between busy days of trying to carry life right along for the family and trying to steal any minutes to research, read, breathe, get opinions, etc. on what the right plan is for healing in everyway possible from BC. I sense that this is what we all do in the beginning especially. It is proven true as we read about updates on eachother regarding BC and then in the next post an update about someone's dear family going through a traumatic experience and coming out of it strong and well.
Val, I am so happy to hear your DD and grandchildren are doing well. Thank God.

happymom8285 - I am so happy for you and your progress as you just had your exchange surgery. It is so encouraging to read. It is a step I look forward to in the future.

Sheila I think Val Jean and I are going to save some money and go to Hawaii with you next May... !!!
Welcome to you SweetMarci!! Big hugs on your treatment.
You ladies that are night owls my hat is off to you. I use to be and then there was BC and rads since that I can't stay up past 10:00 or I'm beat of course the long hrs at work don't help. But life does return to normal post breast cancer... at least eventually. Most days I am so busy that is the most farthest thing from my mind. But every morning when I take my Tamoxifen reality crashes in but it passes quickly.

My DH is off helping the farmer neighbor with something so I have time to check in on everyone.
Thank you all for your kind words regarding my DD & the little loves of my life, my Grandbabies. Unfortunately, Dee, MI is a No-Fault state so nobody is at fault, & she must take whatever insurance gives her, unless she goes after his insurance company for more, which is the same insurance co. she has. They are still looking around for a car, expensive even for used ones these days (that cash-for-clunkers dealie raised the price of all used cars!). She is getting a rental tomorrow & will find out how much insurance is paying.
I hope your recovery from your exchange surgery, Dee, proceeds smoothly!!
SweetMarci ~ Welcome to our lively group of sisters!
Sheila ~ You'll never catch me sinning with goldfish! They do not taste good the second time around!! ha-ha!

Hi everyone - yep, count me in as one of the busy ones - I have been away from the boards for a few days taking my youngest DD to her classical voice audition at the university she wants to go to next year. Caught up with my two older DDs as they are in the same city at uni. DH stayed home to work and look after the dog. Had a wonderful time with them all - I hadn't seen the older ones since June. School holidays here now for two weeks though so I am going to have a good rest up!
granny - I am so happy to read your nodes are clear. What a relief for you. Hope you feel much better soon - hang in there.
Val - it seems crazy that through no fault of her own your DD is responsible for replacing her own vehicle after the accident. I hope that No-fault law means the car insurance is low and that she doesn't lose her no claims bonus because of the accident. I agree - thank goodness they were in a substantial vehicle and I hope they can afford to replace it with something similar.
green and jodimaca and kathy - in NZ the oncotpye test is not available so the oncs rely on the basic characteristics of the tumour and then balance the benefits. I was stage 1 (tumor was 2cm), lower grade 2 (score of 6 on the Elston and Ellis system) and ER+ 90% and PR+ 80%, no nodes and no vascular invasion. My onc said that chemo would give me a 3% benefit over 10 years but a negative benefit of 4 or 5% so he recommended no chemo. He said because my cancer was so strongly ER/PR positive that Hormone therapy would give much the same benefit without the risk of long term damaging SEs of chemo. I decided against chemo as I felt my ER/PR percentages were high and so HT would be effective for me without the damaging SEs (however HT is not without its SEs either in my case!) Check out your ER/PR+ percentages and that may help you in your decision.
Kathy - it is very common for ILC to be under estimated by imaging tests - my MRI showed 1.2cm tumour but it was 2cm when tested after surgery. And it is also very common with ILC that a re-excision is required following lumpectomy (something like 60%) - as you say it is the linear flat growth habit that tricks everyone. Check out the ILC forum too - you may find more specific info re ILC and chemo there.
Dee - glad to hear the exchange went well and fingers crossed you heal well with no complications.
Sheila - lol. Are you eating what we call chocolate fish? Pink marshmallow fish shapes coated with chocolate. Yum, I love them too.

Oh, Sheila girlfriend .....
I. Just. LOVE. the. Mint. Milano. Pepperidge Farm Cookies. My DD & I have devoured an entire bag for lunch before. BUT, honestly, this was before my dx. And, before the grandkids were around to beg for some & while the husbands were out fishing! Oh, such fun!! Amazing the wonderful things we have done with our DD's, right everyone?!? And, that was kept secret just between us gals. Oh, the memories!!

Hi Joni! How ya doin? Hope everything is just the best for you! ♥

We keep the goldfish crackers on hand for our 16 month old grandson so giving them to him lets us get all we want too! About Pepperidge Farm, have you tried their Tim-Tams? They are absolutely scrumptious. I'll bet Rae knows all about Tim Tams and can get the original ones easier than we can here. Don't ever refuse if someone offers you one because you'll be hooked!

Val, doing good! Glad your DD & fam were not seriously injured!

Thanks, Joni ~ Yeah, scary moment. That's all it takes, just a single moment in time......
Kathy ~ Tim Tams, huh? I'll look for them ........ when I have a weak moment. Don't tell the gals over on the E-LAB Project thread, they won't let me on the feeder for a week!!

ooooo - the little goldfish sound my kind of sin too Sheila. We have crackers here called Cheds that are square and have a sort of crumbly cheesy topping as well as being cheesy themselves - ooooo - think I will have to go and get one or two for a snack before dinner!!!!
Yes, kathy, Tim Tams are readily available in the supermarkets (supeys as my teenagers call them, lol) and are one of those biscuits you should definitely not try or you will be instantly addicted. Two chocolate biscuits sandwiched with a chocolate filling and then totally covered in chocolate - very naughty. I can only eat one at a time though as they are soooooo sweet. New flavours come out from time to time but I still like the originals best. My favourite of all biscuits though is a chocolate coated Krispie biscuit. It is a sweet thinish crispy coconut biscuit with milk chocolate on the bottom - yum!!! Think they may be a NZ / Aus one too.
Lol, Sheila. Where's the pleasure in life without a little self indulgence?

Okay cookies melted in my mouth.
I agree with you Rae. Thanks for understanding me. LOL

Diagnosis: 4/8/2005, IDC, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 0/1 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+0 -
I have two packages of REAL Arnott's Tim Tams in my fridge. Sent directly from down under by a caring friend. I have kept them sealed so I don' start eating them. (Well I kept these two packages sealed) I have the raspberry, and the double coats. I think caramel are my favorite.
You an get them at World Market stores, but as I recall (last time I bought them) they aren't called Tim Tams, they are still made be Arnott though.

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. Feeling stronger every day! See my PS tomorrow morning! Bandages off. More pics coming.
Hope eveyone has a great Monday.
Renee, don't feel badly about not being able to stay up. Your body needs all the rest it can get to build you back up again. Listen to it. I used to be a night owl, too.

Hey Sheila - nearly 11am Tuesday here - am having my mop chopped at 11.45 - two weeks overdue so I will really enjoy this cut! I had long hair all my life until about 3 years ago and now I know why - you can leave long hair to grow for months without any attention but with short hair it is weeks! Has certainly upped the $$$s that are being spent at the hairdressers now.
Hope you have mamaged to 'be a good girl' today or has some other tasty treat enticed you to sample it?

Rae...Ive been very good after all its Monday.
I dont cheat on Mondays.
Am I making any sense?
I have long hair. I find it easier to manage.
Of course if Femara keeps thinning my hair i dont know what to do.
HUGS♥

I am not on Femara and my hair is thinning. I'd hate to think about resorting to wigs again!

My forehead is growing. Im loosing it on the front and the sides.
Im not very Happy.

Mine is just very very thin.

My forehead is growing - gaaaaaaaaaaaaa! but my hair is thinning all over too. Someone said Regain helped them - I think I will buy some when I am out today. My Dad was bald as a badger at an early age and two of my brothers are bald and the youngest is losing his fast now. With no estrogen in my system I reckon my male baldness genes are coming into play. I dodged the quick chemo hair loss but Femara is torturing me with agonizingly slowly loss instead
