    Yay Hawk! Know the feeling!

I really like my MO and BS. My RO retired, so I had to see someone new at my six month follow up, but she was very good!

Had to see our ENT today, as they THOUGHT our daughter had a ruptured eardrum after an infection. Turns out she didn't. I saw him 10+ years ago for supposed lymphoma - turned out negative. He did sinus surgery on my DH and has followed our daughter for chronic sinus infections, but he is the BEST.  Wish he handled any of my other problems!

I had my first diagnostic mammo this week also...still don't have the results, but am expecting an all clear because I had a thermography several months ago that was clear.

Kaara...I always make the appointment when the DR is there.

Wednesday's and Friday's i believe.....You wait about half an hour and leave the center with your results

    I really like that....

Boater- I hear you....am always holding my breath until normal symptoms go away.
Hawk - sooooo happy to hear your mammo is clear.  I wonder what the techs think....I know I will be holding my breath until they tell me I'm ok then I will probably do a happy dance right there in the stupid gown...
Meece -- you are scaring me....I will never wish for any test that is enclosed.  What an ordeal you have described.   It would be a 3 xanax day for me...at least.
My MO has never called me back.  Never.  Even when I told her NP that Arimidex may be giving me angina and that I would stop it.  She never followed up.  Fortunately, my cardiologist and I worked it out.  Never wait on a bad doctor for anything.

    Hawk- congrats! What a relief!!

Kaara- which doc ordered the thermography? I've done some reading on them but I don't think anyone in my area uses it.

Joan- hope you are practicing your happy dance- they will probably love to see it!

Joan, Over the years I've had a variety of scans covering every part of my body from my brain to my uterus and bladder.  I was apprehensive about the brain scan but other than having to remain still like all the others, the only uncomfortable part was the noise even with the earphones and music.  The tubes are only two feet or so long so except for the brain scan my head was always on the outside.  Even then there was a light on and a mirror arrangement so I could look outside.  Honest they are far, far easier than the dreaded mamo.  And less messy than an ultra-sound.

It could be that a very obese person could have trouble fitting through the average machine and need to be sent to a center with a special one.

Hey Chabba!  Have we had an awesome ten days or what?  :)  Love all this vitamin D.

I also only go for mammo when doc is there to read before I leave.  Otherwise I would be in ER with anxiety issues.

boatergirl:  My thermography was done by my ND, not my MO, although my MO had a slight bit of interest in hearing what the outcome was, which was interesting since he is so old school.  My BS said as long as I didn't discontinue the mammograms, he was ok with doing the thermography on alternating follow ups.  I would never give up the mammogram because I owe my early detection of my bc to it.

Hey ladies I hope everyone is ok. I have missed all of u so much. I saw my med onco today... All is good. He only does a CBC when I see him and then a yrly mammo which is due in Nov. We talked about my hair loss. I actually showed him where my hair had fallen out. I told him I stooped taking the Arimidex 6 wks ago and had to cut my hair all off because of it which he could tell. We had a long talk. I was really glad he wasn't angry or judgmental. Starting June 15 he wants me to try going back on the generic Tamoxifen (nalvodex) at 1/2 the dose. And see what it does. He told me to call him since I don't see him till Nov. I was WOWED!!! And proud to call him my dr today. Thanks everyone for all the support. Wish I could be around more. This night shift is killing me. I hate it please pray I find a day shift management position soon.

Sheila im taking an over the counter supplement called Biotin, u can buy it at Walmart. It's not expensive and you take one 5,000 u cap a day. Very tiny little thing. As for the hair loss the med onc said he had never heard of the hair loss from the AI's being permanent. It may just take a while to see the thickening after bring in 5 yrs. So I am passing u the message. My head finally stopped itching. Have u tried changing shampoo? I am using Nexxus therappe shampoo and conditioner they have lots of moisturizers in them. Wash my hair only once a week and I did cut it off. I know u love ur long hair as much as I did mine but it has made it look thicker and a good conditioning color helped too. On your scalp u might also try tea oil shampoo for the itch if the moisturizing one doesn't help.

I have always had thin hair and I just started using this new shampoo and conditioner from Aveda which is specially formulated to make your hair look thicker and fuller.  It works!  I noticed from the first time I used it that I looked like I had more hair.  You can order it online or go to an Aveda Salon to get it.  Like all their products it's not cheap, but you use it sparingly and it works.

    I always changed shampoos.

When I saw the Dermatologist he gave a slip for a shampoo but

Ins didn't cover it and i refused to pay &24.00....so I got Selsun Blue over the counter.....

i have been using that the last 6 months or so......itch got better...then last month started all over again.....i;m thinking I might have that hair disease....I'm not sure what it's called but my mother also suffered from it....i know it's not the end of the world but my forehead is getting wider wider.....Yell

i will ask my Dr about Melatonin...because i'm on some Prescription medications...just to be on the safe side

OR it could be an age related thing.

    Thank You.....

I found this information about tea oil

<<People with hormone-sensitive cancers or pregnant or nursing women should avoid tea tree oil.>>

Diane...is this the one?  Does it help the itch?

Sheila - my itchies are gone, my hair and scalp are now happy.  When my scalp was really itchy, I had a prescription shampoo called Clobix or something like that.  She had me use that first and then the Sebamed ongoing.  On their website, you can search for stores near you, like CVS so you don't have to invest in the giant bottle.

ducky:  Yes...Nioxin is good as well.  They also have a shampoo for itchy scalp and I use that whenever I get that.  I also use the Nioxin hairspray which is great...no stiff buildup, but lots of control.

OMG...the products I use on my head to make it look like I've actually got hair!  The other day I realized that my hair has actually grown thicker and I think it's because of all the supplements I've been taking since being dx with bc.  Tamoxifen is supposed to thin the hair (oh joy) but so far that has not happened.  Maybe I'll up my consumption of biotin since it's been recommended for hair growth.

Today I'm having a big clean out the freezer cookout for BF's kids.  We want to cook up all of our meat left in the freezer before we head to our summer home in NC.  Too many power outages and threats of hurricanes here in Fl to leave stuff in there that could spoil.

Kaara...........know what you mean.......I have a home in Cape May Beach, NJ, and I go there weekends, and someimes longer, and I do worry too.............Jersey has a lot of big storms, and my power can go out down there  at the drop of a hat.....almost every weekend when I go down the microwave has a PF, and everything is blinking......but it has never been drastic.

However, my daughter-in-law went down one weekend a few years ago (this is the one who left my son "yet again" with 4 kids).......(don't even bother with the bitch now.shes a sick puppy, maybe drugs)................anyway.....when she left she shut off the wrong "breakers", and one was the Fridge........................lucky my son (her husband) and my son-in-law, were putting an addition on a women's home on my street, and were staying at my house....they came home and found the Fridge.......off, and everything warm.................however................3 1/2 gallons of ice cream melted (and they were 1/2 gallons back then) thank God it didn't ruin the mechanism, but the Fridge never seemed the same too me.........................stupid bitch..................

well anyway........having 2 homes is nice, but sometimes its also a headache.........have a great day.....hugs...........................we're going down to open everything up, house, pool, etc....this Wednesday and staying till Monday...............
