My heart is breaking.  My sister's memorial service is tomorrow evening.  Iur  have been the one planning it.  My son is creating a beautiful slide show of pictures of her.  I chose the song, I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack to accompany the photos.  She lived like that song - not taking a breath for granted.  I miss her dearly and appreciate all of your prayers as my family and I grieve her passing.  Love to all!

I'm so sorry Rocket. I really do know how you feel, as I lost my younger sister suddenly in February. I still can't get my head around the fact, that Nancy is gone.

I officiated at her funeral, because Pastor was out of state, and I didn't want a stranger to do it. Now, looking back, I wonder how I ever did it. It had to be GOD holding me up, and speaking through me. Six people got saved at her funeral. That absolutely was the FATHER!

I'm praying for you, for peace, & strength.

    Blessings

    Hello Ladies,

I hope you don't mind me coming late to the party. I'm 48 years old and was diagnosed last April with stage IV breast cancer and just recently joined the forums here. I was thrilled to find this thread, as prayer and faith are two of the biggest things getting me through this journey. The other things have been my wonderful family, my supportive church family, and a very supportive workplace. Oh, and chocolate.

    Hi Lauren!

I see you are from Alabama.  I'm a southern girl myself and only a year younger than you but best of all it looks like we share the same source of strenght in the Lord!  I'm so glad you have a supportive church family as well.

I don't know why the above is in bold and I'll probably delete it if I try to correct it.  I tend to delete things accidentally.

I don't know where you are in Alabama or if you have the need for it but did you know the Cancer Center's of America opened a hospital in Newnan GA this month?  I was excited to hear about that.

Rocket,  I'm so sorry to hear about all you are going through.  You're in my prayers.  I wish I had words that could make a difference in your grief but do know I'm praying for you my sweet sister in Christ.

Jo5...I'm glad to read about the corn.  It reminded me that the Farmer's Market is tomorrow.  I always forget that.  Somehow I missed the fungus comments but am always delighted when I consider how much greater Heaven will be than even my most elaborate dreams!

Kindergarten....How are those babies?  Do they live close by? Regardless as to where they are I know they must certainly warm your heart.  And Mini how about yours?

Anyone have appointments coming up that I can make a note of to pray for you about?  How are your appointments going Paula and macatacmv?  I feel like I've fallen behind lately.

Love to you all and hope you rest well tonight.

Thank you all for your prayers. My sister's memorial service was so beautiful and gave us all an opportunity to say goodbye. We wept, laughed, and were comforted by our church family. My mom handled it beautifully and said later that she was so glad we did it as it gave her some closure. My son did a slideshow of pictures of my sister's life. I chose the pictures and music, "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. It was so perfect and epitomized my sister. I know that your prayers were there lifting us up. I can't begin to thank you enough.

This weekend my DS, DIL and granddaughter are coming to the mountains to stay with us. I can hardly wait! We saw our precious Erin last night at the memorial service, and she has grown so much in just three short weeks since we moved. I LOVED holding her again. She is 7 mths. old now.

Welcome new ladies! Indeed you will find such encouragement on this thread. There are so many wonderful, strong believers here. We bear one another's burdens. They have certainly carried mine. I love you all dearly!

My beautiful grandbabies are doing well. She's beating him by a pound and a half and an inch and a half! But both of my boys were small. He gained just enough to keep the doc happy. He'll catch up. He was born so quickly after his sister that he has a few issues from that, but he's only about a week or two developmentally from her. But he's bright-eyed and strong and holds that little head up, so he'll catch up in short order I"m sure. She's aready got curly hair, he's like his daddy - almost bald. lol Mamma's a redhead, so you never know what they may change into, but right now her hair is very dark and his is a light brown. Theyare of course beautiful and extremely smart, :-)

I don't have any appts. until later in Sept., but I would like prayer regarding my medication. I had horrendous SE's on Aromison and can't take it anyway now that I know I have osteoporosis, but Tamoxifen has it's own problems for me. I've got the script but haven't taken any yet. My experience with the AI' s (2) has me scared. I have to work and couldn't on the AI's the SE's were so bad. And there is the whole quality of life factor. Very confused and feeling depressed about it which I wasn't before. Also having some weird bruising/bleeding starting again even though I've stopped the AI's.

I appreciate all the support here.

    Yours in Christ

Hello all, My 97 y/o aunt sent this to me yesterday.

    Jesus Loves Me (senior version)

Jesus love me this I know

Though my hair is white as snow

Though my sight is growing dim

Still He bids me trust in Him

Chorus: Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves me

Yes Jesus loves me, for the Bible tells me so

Though my steps are oh, so slow

With my hand in His I'll go

On through life, let come what may

He'll be there to lead the way

    Chorus

When the nights are dark and long

In my heart He puts a song

Telling me in words so clear

"Have no fear, for I am near."

    Chorus

When my work in earth is done

And Life's victories have been won

He will take me home above

    Then I'll understand His love

    Chorus

I love Jesus, does He know?

Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say

    That I love Him everyday.

Now I'm not saying we are old and she did note that she didn't think I was old. But I sure feel old and slow most days. She is a real spitfire, tho.

    welcome Lauren!

mini, I can't help you much about tamox. I am on Arimidex and I started it the same day I was put on a high dose of prednisone for my lungs. So I am so confused about SEs, I am also doing other meds for my lungs. I also have some osteo issues. But I can pray for you and I will!! Give mini peace and clarity about her decision, please Lord.

fondak , I pray for you daily. Thanks for asking about appts. I have one on Tuesday with my pulmonary specialist in Boston. Which is a boat ride and then a long drive. I have a friend driving me, but have to get a portable nebulizer to take with me. So pray for stamina, strength, clarity and enough gumption to get my questions answered.

Jo, praying for those bad cholesterol numbers to drop!!

rocket, I was praying for you too. I am glad the service was beautiful and comforting. It does give us "closure" when we say goodbye as a family.

I know that song well. It was very popular when my sister died in 2001. I had been with her for her final days.  I remember the morning after she passed was a Sunday and I was going to church in a strange town, I stopped to get gas and as I was pumping the gas into my rental car that song came on the radio. It touched my heart so much. None of my family is saved, so I was "alone" until I got to that church that I had never been to and when I asked for prayer "strangers" held me until I could stop crying. God is good all the time!!!!!!

    kathy, enjoy that little girl!

O Lord, lead me in your righteousness because of my foes; Make your way straight befoe me. Psalm 5:8

Do any of you have plans for the holiday weekend?

We have been planning for months to go to the Johnstown Swappers Day on Labor Day, so I'm praying the rain that's forecasted will hold off until evening. We do after all serve the Master of the rain & the wind.

My aunt June, whom I cared for in my home for 3 years went home to JESUS on June 26. During a horrible storm we had the evening of her viewing the electricity went out at the funeral home. We sat Friday evening at the funeral home with no lights and no ac.

On Saturday morning, the day of the funeral, the director called to tell me, there was still no electricity. That meant no ac, no music, no DVD of her life. I felt so bad, thinking my precious aunts life wouldn't be celebrated in way that I thought it should be. So I prayed to the FATHER, that we would have just one hour of power for AJ, as I called her.

Ten minutes after walking into the funeral home the day of the funeral, the electricity came on and stayed on. Guess what! Every place surrounding the funeral home was still without power! How Incredible is our GOD?!?!?!

I pray you all have a Very Joyful Holiday!

    Blessings

Hi, Paula!!! and Everyone here on this wonderful thread. I am sure you have heard about Marybe, a wonderful Sister on this board. Words can not describe this beautiful woman. Praying for a miracle for her if it is God's Will. I had to share this message with you from a Bible I received when I was going through active treatment. It is called the NIV Encouragement Bible given to me by a group called the Outreach of Hope. Dear Lord, sometimes I wish suffering were not a part of the Landscape of Life. There is so much uncertainty, so many questions and so few answers that at times, I do all that I can to avoid suffering. But now I find myself smack dab in the middle of it and there seems to be nowhere to turn, except to YOU!!!!

I thank you Lord, that the Bible, YOUR WORD, gives such incredible comfort in the midst of storms like this one. Help me LORD, to hold on to those words of encouragement so that I may have the strength I need to endure this journey. Written by Dave and Jan Dravecky

I pray that all of you find comfort in these words, as I did !!!!! God bless you all!!! We can and will get through these challenging times together as Sisters in Christ!!!

    Jo & Kindergarten

Thank you both. I've been reading about Marybe, and praying for her & her family.

Our Lord is so faithful. In the 8th chapter of Matthew, when the storm came and Jesus was sleeping in the boat, the storm didn't disturb him at all, but the cries of his children got his attention!

We just got back from Swappers Day. We had storms forecasted for all day, but God answered my prayer, and kept the storms away til we were done. We sold a crossbow & case for $120. I was looking to buy a Ruger 22, but didn't see anything I liked. They were way over priced. I'm looking for one to carry ( concealed carry permit ). I'd rather shoot it before buying anyway.

I hope you all had a blessed day.

Sorry Ladies, I have been absent lately with having tons of company at our house. It was so wonderful to see our precious granddaughter. It did me a world of good to snuggle her, feed her and bathe her. I miss them so much now that they have returned home. I will see them again in six weeks when we go back to eastern NC.

I just want you all to know that I am thinking of you, praying for your various concerns, and care deeply.

Fondak, thank you for your offer to pray for upcoming appointments. I do have one with another oncologist on Sept. 10th here in my new town. I will continue to see my former oncologist in Eastern NC as well, but need one here for any urgent issues. My former onc referred me to this new one. Please pray that it goes well. Thank you for doing this.

Dear Jo-5, Amen!!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful and inspiring story from the Old Testament!!!!! Abraham went through trials and testing to the highest degree. I need to practice more obedience and stretching. I was on my knees this morning with Our Lord. Our family is going through some minor challenges and trials right now. Thank you for the reminder that Nothing is Impossible with God, and that challenges and trials bring us closer to HIM!!!!! Lots of Love to everyone, here!!! Prayers also for our Dear BC sister, Marybe, who lost her fight yesterday.
