MBJ- you are so sweet. Oh, and how I had hoped to help you with the landscape for your new home. I hoped to have the energy to come down. Maybe someday. Fingers are crossed. I'm also glad you have good care. I wish you good outcomes on the 15th. It's so nice to see your smiling face on here.

Lovelyface- I'm wishing for your markers to come down too.

Thanks to all of you for the sweet responses to my surprise. He doesn't even know it's my birthday next week. What a wonderful gift. Only you ladies can understand that it's so much more than just a deck. It's ironic that someone else really treated me horrible on the same day someone said they would do something really nice. Tears of joy were more plentiful than tears from the hurt. That's a good thing.

I'm getting a brain scan on Monday. I've had these weird vision things and headaches woke up this morning and the corner of my eye is blackened. Freaky. Hopefully it's all just due to the increase of pain meds or stress. I met with Hospice today. She came by to discuss things with me but I won't actually sign up until after my scans. I see my onc again on Tuesday. Wishing you all sweet dreams.

    Inmate,

Has your rash resolved? They thought I had shingles on my face but I think it was herpes simplex because I've had it before on my face near my eye. It was during this last chemo and has healed now.

    Laura,

I hope your symptoms are just stress and medication. I got some ocular migraines during the eribulin with weird zig zaggy patterns. I had had them before years ago so I knew what it was but the chemo seemed to possibly set them off again.  Over two weeks out from chemo now and haven't had them again.

Christina- you described my vision problems to a Tee that is exactly what it is and it did start mildly at fist at about my 2nd week. But now I've had this kind of headache over my right eye and forehead that feels like I've been hit with a baseball bat. Not constant though. Oh, how I hope your right. Yes I do have koi hybrids from japan although the first few were just starter koi from the petstore. I just love them. They are my babies but they have grown so much a couple of them are I think about 18" long now. Most of them came from a breeder in Seattle Wa. that flies to japan several times a year.

I hope you can put a pond in this year. If it's installed correctly with the right materials and equipment they can be very low maintenance. I've installed several over the years for clients.

LJ - Just read the posts on the deck and am so happy for you.  I am totally convinced that angels do exist and come to us in the form of very dear special people that make our lives brighter.  I am hoping that all of your head problems are merely stress, as you certainly have an abundance of that to deal with on top of everything else you are dealing with.  I know it must sound trite to you by now with all of us constantly reminding you, but once again, you are a truly totally amazing and awesome woman.

MBJ - Keep on keeping on - I will not stop hoping for positive news for you.

All good wishes to everyone on this forum,

    Linda

Just reading all you brave ladies posts.

Lovely face - Innocence Lost is a great name but I'm sure you don't need to even think about this.   My oncologist said markers go up and down all the time and really mean little. All will be well I am sure of it.

MBJ & Susan - hope you are feeling good today and are comfortable.  Sending you lots of warm fuzzies. How are the cooking shows going.

Laurajane.  So glad you are getting your new deck.  Hopefully your headaches are just stress. It's amazing what stress can do to a person. We won't even think about 6-9 months, this will just not happen.  Have you started your Metformin yet.  This may possibly be your answer.

I am in for my port on Tuesday and then 2nd chemo on Wednesday.  Bit nervous again so hopefully all will go according to plan.

Sending you lots of love and hugs ladies.  This cancer will not be the end of us we will fight and go on fighting.  Annie

SoCal- I can't think of anyone who regularly posts here that has mets and is from LA or Southern California. We have one that recently moved away from LA, but she was not diagnosed with mets until after. Perhaps someone will come along that knows someone that can help!! Always happy to see an "old timer"!!

    SoCal:

Go on over to TNBCfoundation.org and send a message to "Steve" asking for assistance with a doctor in that area.  He will reply with much info.  He is a patient advocate for us triple neg's and also lives in California, so this will be a real easy one for him.  Also can help in getting your friend seen like yesterday.  Good luck.

I have always wanted a Koi pond!  LJ..my dh likes landscaping..he also grows daylilies..different kinds..he even puts their scientific name on a little nameplate next to each one..they are so beautiful...he has put some holly berry in the front of our house so we have some color in the cold  gray Ohio winters..he also feeds the birds and lays corn out for the deer so they won't eat his trees..but they still do (lol)..

Last night we went to a casino in WV and I won $400.00..I was so excited...today my daughter and her husband had us over to their place for dinner...tomorrow we are going to see our son at OSU...I'm soo excited..I miss him so much...

Here's to everyone having a good weekend with lots of love and "cuddling"...

Hi to everyone. Special thoughts to all those dealing with further treatment and those being such brave spirits in making the decision for no further treatment.

I see MBJ has posted in the stage IV forum, and hope she gets some extra support and hope from those ladies too.

    Happy Sunday Everyone!

Linda- Thank you. I hope it's stress too. I guess we'll find out this week.

Bak- Yes, how are you? What is the game plan. I'm thinking about you so much.

Cocker spaniel- I'm not taking the metformin. From what I understand it hasn't worked by itself with stage 4 unless combined with chemo, since there arent any chemos left there is no point on taking it. Anymore weightloss is risky for me at this point too.nif anyone has contradicting info on this please forward it to me. Thanks.

Titan - Yahoo!!! $400.00 , that's fun and fabulous, congratulations. What did you win it on? I love roulette ( is that how I spell it?) your husband sounds like a dream. I hope you get your koi pond. I just love mine. If you get one, make sure it's in the right place Fen Shui wise.

Lovelyface- hope you and everyone else have a great Sunday too!

My daughter with my grandson came over yesterday and we had a nice dinner and watched the movie "Hugo". I hadn't heard much about it until the Oscars, it won so many awards. We just loved it. I guess it is filmed for 3D but we just watched on regular tv. I recommend it.

Today my son and I are going to clear the enclosed back porch off ( its been a catchall for everything from kitchen stuff to fertilizers tools, etc.and try and organize my cabinents and fit

everything in my kitchen. It will be torn off for the new deck. Well I think I'll mainly be directing. Ha ha.

Christina......No my rash has not healed.  I took antibiotics for a week but that didn't seem to have any effect.  In fact it is still in the same place and same size but a bit more red.  It does not hurt or itch and hasn't had any blisters.  I am not convinced it is shingles, but am willing to wait until I see the Dr on Friday for my first post treatment blood work.  What did they give you for yours?

    Inmate,

They gave me Valtrex but I ended up not having to take it as it started to go away.  At the very last of the eribulin trial I got cold sores in three different places on my face.   The last was the place near my eye.  Mine itched right before it blistered.  Let us know what the doc says.  I hope it goes away by then.

Laura...I'm too chicken to play the table games..I have had some lessons in craps but when I go to the casino I chicken out on playing them because they move so fast..I don't want to seem like an idiot so I go to the slots..I won the $$$ on a 7x machine...I had been playing the freaking thing all night..finally it hit..bar, bar, 7 times, bar, 7 times....I just sat there with my head down listening to the machine go off...it stopped at $393.00...this really cute guy next to me said what a nice win..I took it and cashed out and called the husband..he was excited to..I had to give him some $$...we then won a little more and then left...we had intended to leave at 8 pm and then ending up getting home at 1:30...man I'm tired...I was so excited my legs were shaking..but I bought a glass of wine and things were fine...LOL...

My parents started this gambling thing..funny stuff..they are staunch churchgoers and strong Repulicans..never drink, nothing like that...My mom said the other day that all they do is go to church and gambling...this cracks me up.

Anyway..thinking of all of you guys all the time.

LJ..I'm going to do some research on the koi pond..what is the best time of the year to put one in?

Good morning to to you all.

Titan- that is hilarious. What a unique combination your parents are. But power to them if there having fun. My mom used to love to go when she was alive. I went with her a couple of times to the gambling boat. I've been with friends too. I'm not much fun to take because after I win I'm done. I either get a good feeling about the numbers or I don't , but when I do I bet and win. It's fun for me everyone in a while. I always thought it would be fun to go to Los Vegas. Have you ever been.

If you decide to install a pond, google aquascape, they have good equipment for a homeowner installation. Let me know if you have any questions or want tips. I'd put one in now so you could get fish this spring. Just start with 2-3 fish until the water is regulated. I always recommend having at least 2 goldfish because they eat mosquito larva and koi don't. Moving water is not the habitat for them but with splashing and stuff occasionally there can be a little stationary water in-between the rocks. Always make the pond bigger than you think you want because most people wish they had. I also suggest you dig it at least 3' deep to prevent predators. I build caves in mine for the fish to be able to hide in. Expensive food for blue heron and raccoons.

Cocker spaniel- good luck with your surgery today. I hope it goes smoothly.

Sugar- nice to see you too. Hope you have a great day.

    Morning Ladies,

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I had a nice spa day on Saturday.  Spent the weekend at my BFF's house, got a mani/pedi and a cut & color, my first since Chemo.  Felt so good!  Saturday night we had a girls night out, the first I've had in years and it was soooo nice!  I think I was able to forget about FC for a little while every now and then.

Hope everyone has a good week and I'm thinking of you all!

McCrimmon- How wonderful for you to treat yourself to some primping. I think it's fabulous you went out and obviously way, way, way too long for you to have a GNO! I can feel your smile.

Fighter- I'm curious. What progect? Sounds like gardening. Oh, do tell. I love talking gardens.

I just got back from my brain scan. I asked how it looked and of douse he said "mum's the word", I would have liked a smile when he said it. Hate waiting as we all do. I'm hoping I get the all clear when I see my onc tomorrow.

Ia friend is sending over a recliner for me today, she said it is very comfortable. The one I have I need to use a bunch of pillows as it's very uncomfortable. I can't wait to get rid of the one I have if this one is nicer. I feel awkward accepting something sight unseen but she was so insistent. I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings. She is so sweet. Hopefully it all works out.

Has anyone heard from Bac? I'm worried about her.

Suze- I'm thinking of you too! I'm hoping they have your pain under control.

I got an email from my Onc and said she had no problem putting me on the Metformin as long as I understood it is just a trial and no evidence it helps TNBC .  I am all for it!!!

Here's a little sound of spring from a recent drive we took:

    http://albums.phanfare.com/isolated/MpDUMZ8B/1/5489856

Also, my state has several casinos. It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who look like they don't have "a pot to piss in" feeding the slot machines. Sad... they must be using all their social security/disability/welfare money on it.

    cs.....thinking about you today.

fighter...yes, please do tell us about your project.  gardening is such a wonderful way to take your mind off of all of this.  i was able to plant some new shrubs, a beautiful rose (i'm a rose newbie) and a new arch for my front gate.  boy am i sore, but thrilled to have a jump (albeit small) on the yard.

    mccrimmon....time with girlfriends....ahhhhhhhh!  :)

lj....how very sweet of your friend.  here's hoping for something with a little more style than the one on frazier....hehehe  isn't today the day you get your new deck?  can we see a picture when it's done?
