lory, I have had 4 PET Scans since October 2011.
luv, She (MO) only has me 1000 mg twice a day for 2 weeks then off for a week. I think she afraid to go. smaller since we are seeing a response on the liver with this dose, but I will ask her on Monday at my nest checkup.
long gentle hugs to all of you.

Lory-No, I have not had a pet scan and the docs have not mentioned, one as of yet, but I am just getting started with this journey.

Okay Ladies, here's a more artistic approach to highlighting my skin mets. The saw blades represent roughly the size of the area they excised. I have an after picture too that I will share with only those who ask.

Inmate I would like to see your after pictures. Your bravery may help all of us some day. Thank you.

*LORD, THEY ARE
FINALLY TOGETHER*
Judy got married and had 8 children.
Her first husband, Ted, died of cancer.
She
married again, and she & Bob had 6 more children.
Bob was killed in a car accient, 12 years later.J Judy remarried, and this time she & John had 5 more
children.
Judy finally died, after having 19 children.Standing
before her coffin, the preacher prayed for her.
He thanked the Lord for this very loving woman and
said,
"Lord, they are finally together."
Ethel leaned over and quietly asked her best friend,
Margaret:
"Do you think he means her first, second, or third
husband?"Margaret replied, "I think he
means her legs, Ethel..."

Inmate not sure what is happening to the thread as it won't let me answer. Will do it as soon as they let me.
0 -
cocker did you post that last joke?
0 -
Yes I did Inmate but the thread was going funny and it came out like that. So I guess it doesn't make sense really.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers. My sister's Biopsy results were good. She has a papillary lesion that will need to be removed by surgery but at least it was not the Big "C". So thankful that all is well. What a relief. Saturday our minor league baseball team will be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness night and I will be singing the National Anthem. Anyone know how I can shed ten pounds by then???? LOL

((Inmate)) Thank you for posting that photo.
Lory: I have had a few PET scans. Had an axillary lymph node post chemo that we were watching. It went away after about a year. Last fall had some stubborn hip pain and had a Pet scan to look at it. Results were degenerative disease. Onc offered another PET scan this spring...I declined because I was feeling good.
Magicone:The advise of getting to a BIG cancer center/university hospital is good. I woke up thinking about your situation this morning. Just wondering if you would be a candidate for Avastin. That drug helps to stop blood vessel growth...not sure if this applies to your case but it is a thought...
Awwwww LuvR. Don't ya just love new baby? Congrats to you and your family.
Feeling very grateful this morning. After months of no rain, we finally got some during the night. Not sure it will make a difference for our farmers but and it won't help my scorched lawn but Hopefully My DH and his allergies will get some relief.

Ellen - Spanx??? LOL! Don't worry, really. If you can sing the National Anthem, that is a beautiful thing and no one will be noticing your figure. And I can only imagine the relief you all felt when your sister's biopsy showed something other than cancer!
Beccad - my only other suggestion would be to try one week on, one week off. Some people have less side effects with that protocol.
Inmate - you are one brave warrior! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Inmate; thanks for posting the pictures. It is something I will watch for in the future. Hope you don't mind me being honest but the thing the struck me is I have never seen a mastectomy. It took my breath away. Thank you so much for being so open. And thank you everybody for the support and love. My family wants me to join a support group but I tell them I already have and they are available 24/7 and are more supportive than you can believe. Just PMS-ing so all mushy and stuff but the sentiment is there!

<<Luv>; Congrats on the new grandbaby! Adorable.

LuvRVing,
Congratulations - what a beautiful baby!
Inmate, thanks for posting the picture. Are you going to be able to get into the vaccine trial? Is it a MUC trial? I've read about two separate ones - one with Dr. Joseph Baar that is active and I think the other one is opening 2013 possibly - UGA and Mayo clinic.

Inmate, thanks for the pictures. I'd like to see the after pic, too.
C_S, your joke reminds me of one from years ago in the hospital where I work. Lots of the nurses seemed to be pregnant at the same time, and some befuddled person made the old joke, "Must be something in the water." EXCEPT they messed up and said "There must be something in the air." Quick as a flash, someone said, "Legs." After we stopped laughing, we had to explain it to the befuddled one.

Thanks Tazzy and everyone else for the wonderful comments. I smile because I choose to smile. Fortunately my husband is good behind the lens and has been able to take photos through this journey. I can look back and see that this is still me (albeit somewhat less of me) but still me.
To all the newbies out there. A few things I regret not doing from the beginning is taking more pictures. I wish I would have taken a head shot each day. It would show emotion, hair and just a general daily update to the transformation we all make during this journey. And I don't mean all bad. Chemo made my skin fantastic for awhile. My hair came out a beautiful stark white at first. Your eyes are more brilliant when you loose your hair. Things like that. Blogging. I am not much of a writer but I do wish I would have started a blog or at least journaled. Sometimes it's hard to remember dates and drug names but it is even harder to remember the emotions.
My advise to all the newbies is write it down or take pictures. I thought moving past and forgetting the journey would be best. Weave those experiences into your fiber. It has made for a much stroner "new me".
I am off to visit my sister for a few days so might be a bit quiet. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love to you all!

Thanks to all for the information you post and the photo's ((((Inmate))))). I had my port inserted in preparation for chemo to begin one week from today. EEK!! The tubing had to go into my neck and that is a bit weird but I am sure I will get used to it. Next up is my MUGA scan on Friday. I assume that everyone who gets Adriamycin gets a MUGA scan. Now I am worried because at the teaching session, the nurse said that the pumping must be between 50% and 80%. If it is 50% or below, no chemo or maybe she meant "A". Anyway, I am freaking because what happens if I am borderline or below -- I am a worry wort by nature and this is not helping.
Also, a friend just sent me this link for people who have had breast cancer surgery etc. by the AVON Foundation for Women. She is a 5 year breast cancer survivor and is a big advocate for education and helping others. Sounds like they periodically send out surveys to be filled out. Anyway, it is worth checking out. Here is the link... https://www.armyofwomen.org/getinvolved

From all the newbies, I thank you Inmate. What an eye opener. And I am going to make sure we document this journey both for myself and my son.

Pinky....you will come to love your port. I think it makes me a superhero. With this port I am ready for battle! I didn't have a MUGA test, so no advice there, but my port has worked like a dream.
0 -
Thanks for the encouragement with the port, Inmate. From what we were told, the MUGA scan is a baseline because the Adriamycin can cause heart damage. Oh joy! If it's not one thing, it's another.

the gift that keeps on giving. with no return policy, i might add!

Inmate,
And of course what your husband can see, and what the camera shows, is that you are still beautiful (even if there is less of you).

Inmate, you ROCK! Your courage is off the charts! You are so right about photos and journaling. I have a photo from right after dx, I look like a deer int he headlights! No makeup and my eyes are huge. I was terrified, now I now I did it, I am healthy and stronger, like you.
Port scars: my port was removed May 29th when they did my BMX. It. Worked wonderfully and was my friend for six months, but I was glad to see it go. The scar is there under my left clavical. I have noticed several clients look at it recently. I never mention it but I feel like its a badge of honor, kind of. I have been wearing dresses with tiny straps, showing it off. Never would have worn anything like that pre BC. I went out and bought them recently. Maybe it's a tiny rebellion against all that has happend?
National Anthem! What an honor! So proud of you!
Proud of all of us!
