Oh Barbara! Big hugs! Glad you will go see the onc and get some meds. This disease has so many ramifications, ugh. I am on Effexor for hot flashes, but it did improve my mood as well. I didn't know I needed anything until I started taking it. Let's just say I was a little bit b*#t@hy
About the sewing, I taught my daughter to sew when she was in middle school (Girl Scout projects mostly) and I can't tell you how many times we would go into Joann's and pick fabric out and walk around with it and then put it back. We had too many projects already unfinished, but loved to go in to see what was new, on sale, etc. I'm sure I still have fabric I could use for something. She called me last week to say she had bought a sewing machine (at college?) and could I send her some fabric. Guess what she is going to get??
BTW it is my 2 year cancerversary this week. Anyone else coming up on 2? Doesn't seem like 2 years has past, but yeah!!

shelleyj - that's nice about your daughter. It's neat that she wants to sew on her own. congrats on your 2 year. I am getting sortof close, July. I am excited to make that mark.
Barb - I am sorry to hear that you are feeling down. I hope that you feel better soon.

BarbA -sorry to hear you are feeling down. I know the feeling well and hope you can get some meds to help out. Love you gal pal.
Omaz- my 2 yr cancerversary will be in July (20th). I am counting from the day of Dx. If you count from the day of BMX it will be Aug. 2nd.
Things are going pretty well for now. I go for my exam & aredia treatment on Tuesday. Hear from the neurologist and my nerve conduction study, which was an EMG, was normal as were all the blood tests that he had run. I go see him again on Friday, but not expecting anything new from him. I will get the results of the rest of my blood work on Tuesday and we will see how my RBC and WBC counts are, hope they are a little higher so there will be no delay in my treatments. I am seriously considering taking a break from the Femara for a while to see if the side effects will let up some. I will talk to onco about that on Tuesday. Anyone have any advise about taking a break?

Hi 2010 sisters! It's good catching up here. Best wishes and lots of love!

elisimo - I took a mini-break from Femara for my exchange surgery. My PS wanted me to stop it because of the blood clot risk, and I still have a port. I found that the joint achng went away pretty quickly. I just started it up again and the aching has not come back (yet) so right now I am enjoying that. I plan to start walking and some exercise now that I am a couple of weeks past surgery so I am hoping that will mitigate some aching when it comes back.
annette - saw the PS last week for follow-up, he is happy as a clam. Everything looks good and I am now starting massage, which is a little weird but helps keep them soft I guess. It was a little worrisome with the fever but it appears to have been isolated, so all is well.

Hey, SpecialK! How are you feeling? How are the new girls doing? Sounds like you are healing well. I'm not sure I would enjoy a massage there but sounds like it is routine. Keep up the good work!

Yea Special K! I gotta tell you...I see my PS Friday and you know what has me freaked out? That mine seem softer and more pliable hahahaha...they actually move when I lay flat (not into my armpits like the orginals) but not stand bulletforce straight up. And it scared me! Because they have become more booblike. Go figger...scared at first they would be rocks forever..everyone else seemed to brag about how soft and skwooshiw theirs were almost immediately after exchange and mine were not....and now, a year out, they have become softer and more moveable and I get scared. I think it has little to do with BC and more to do with my brain:) Massage does help and since I mowed the lawn yesterday...I will attest to the healing qualities of a nice long warm soak in the tub...those pecs just release....
BARB...where are you girlfriend...??? You have a mess of people on here thinking of you and we will not stop....
Elisimo- glad you sound like all is more good than bad...as for the break...it seems a lot of folks do and when they get back from their little *vacation* some of the side effects are lessened. Not always, but sometimes. I hope you find the right path with that stuff...these flipping drugs are tricky. I had perfect cholesterol before I hit pre-menopause and then BAM, now that I am suppressing my estrogen down to almost nothing it is sky high. I am hoping to bring it down with excercise (if I ever get off my butt)-so SEs seem to be unavoidable in any case ....because this spike happened on its own as a result of my natural system and now again when I have manipulated the levels down.
I think its just a b(tch to be a woman sometimes, BC or not. We gots the issues I tell ya, we gots buckets of em!
I love you all and welcome to everyone new that I might have missed..this thread is so busy I can barely keep up with it.
You know what I wish more than anything? That one day there would be no new people on any of the threads on bc.org. Not because I don't love them all in a way right from the start....no, because it would mean less women touched by BC. That would be awesome. Then the bunch of us could sit around and talk about the old days, before there were vaccines and treatments that delivered across the board. How cool would that be? That day will come. Until then, thank god we have a safe harbor.....
I hope everyone had a chance to see the stars tonight...they are shining bright down here in Texas:)

annette - loved your post! No new peeps would be a blessing, wouldn't it? I would LOVE to take a bath but I still have stiches. My mini-vacation from Femara is over so I am achy again, but not too bad, but a bath really helps that!
shelley - new girls are fab! Very squishy and nice. Having random pains but that is just healing. I have a friend who had her exchange last week (we have been friends for more than 20 years, how weird is the timing?) so I spent the day with her today - all we talked about was foobs, ridiculous!
barbara - how are you doing?

Talked to BarbaraA and she is down in the dumps and is just waiting until this next week is over. She has a presentation in Houston next week and will see some old friends and hopefully get a line on a new job. Until then she is just trying to keep her head down and keep the awful job she has now. Everyone needs to pray for her and send her hugs. Hopefully she will pop in here soon.
