Thanks for all the advice, and I am writing this stuff down. It all just seemed to happen so fast today, Im not sure what meds the Dr gave me, He was talking to the nurse, the nurse was talking to the social worker (so she can fill out a prescription form to help get the meds paid for) so I was trying to catch what was being said. I ended up leaving with the employes because I was there so late. Tomorrow I will go to the pharmacy in the morning, and call the social worker to go over everything, and if I still have questions I will call the Dr.

    Thanks again.

With the scarf tying, I do it a little different to Lago ( hey, there had to be something different).

I use a long narrow style. Put the edge of the centre ( if that makes sense) and pull both ends behind your head, wrap it back around the front, cross over and tie at the back. Somehow it looks quite "styled" but is nothing at all. Only works with the longer styles but that's the type I often find in the stores.

Hey, not sure if everyone knows this but franceluxe.com will give you one free silk scarf or headwrap. I was told by the american cancer society. I emailed and waiting for a reply, but the headwraps look awesome, and have a 72.00 value, and you get to pick the one you like.

I just received my fanceluxe headwrap today! It's gorgeous! lovely silk scarf. I forgot to tell them what color so they sent me olive which is usually an aweful color on me but this is really nice. Darker than it shows online.: http://www.franceluxe.com/pc/L3083B2/headwraps/index.html

sweetaerobabe-  The franceluxe scarves are beautiful.  The hand-signed get well card they enclosed made me cry.  Another organization that gives free gorgeous scarves for cancer ladies is www.gailafund.org  They are a different sort of style, and look very fashionable.

www.gailafund.org wants to contact your doctor to confirm you're a patient. I don't think doctors can even do that because of the HIPAA law.

Good morning, I just checked out the FranceLux site after reading all the recent posts and the headwraps are beautiful. I am going to check out gailafund now, lago. :)

I do like the Gaila headwrap. For me it may be nice for a special event maybe as it seems a little more formal than the others. What a small world as their company is "right in my backyard." I keep getting amazed by what people do to help this cause and so many powerful givers are people who are survivors.

Ladies plz a little question. I had axillary nodes removed Thursday. Even with pain meds I have poker stabbing burning jab every once in a while under and down arm. Is this to be expected (normal)? You ladies are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. HUGS Diane

diane that didn't happen for a few weeks after surgery with me but I think it's a good sign. It means your nerves are regenerating.

I'm b-a-c-k (only barely).  Wow, that stuff knocked me down for over 2 weeks!  Just now starting to feel a bit better.  Still have a horrid cough and still pitch a fever almost every evening.  Hopefully, I can have a few "normal" days as I will be getting ready for another (my last) chemo on Thurs (if all goes well).   I hope we can move ahead with no delays.

Sounds like some of you are struggling as well.  Just know that you are all in my thoughts (and prayers).  I feel for all my "sisters" who are in these incredible situations dealing with the results, treatment, side effects, etc of this nightmare-ish disease.

We will beat it and we will go on to live many, many happy years, you all know that right???

take good care and just breathe. . .

Aw {{{TEK}}} so sorry you are struggling. I am sending you lots of gentle cyber (((HUGS)))).

And may all the sisters have a stress-free (well, I can hope, right?), side effect free and happy weekend.

Tekla,---Good to see you back...I don't post a whole lot, but I do like to read and see what everyone is up to.  So excited for you that you have only one chemo left...I just had my 3rd on the 5th....I have 3 more left...can't wait to be done with this part...I still have rads, but I think that may be easier than this (at least I can hope, right?)

Dianemoe-l--ago is right...my BS told me it's the nerves regenerating and healing...you also may feel "rugburn like" feelings as well...it's the same thing...it's annoying, but it does get better.  I still have some numbness under my arm and back of arm...my surgery was August 12th.  I've heard it can take many months before things get back to "normal" again...

Please know I offer you all up in my daily prayers..that no matter what part of the journey you are in, that you are blessed, comforted and doing well....

    peace and prayers,

    Tori

lago-  The Gailafund folks ask for your doctor's name but I don't think they actually contact them.  I think it is just a way for them to discourage non cancer types from getting free scarves.Sad to think people would do that, but nothing surprises me.  I did fill out my doctor's name and hospital, have nothing to hide.  I got my scarf the very next day so I don't think they would have had time to call them.

It's an absolutely gorgeous day here in NYC.  It's my birthday so DH and my son took me to our favorite neighborhood restaurant for lunch.  The waitress found out and the next thing I knew the whole staff was singing happy birthday with a cake and candle.  I had to fight very hard not to cry.  Every birthday seems so precious now.  I don't care how old and wrinkled I get.  Please God, just keep them coming!

Happy Birthday DM.  I am glad to see you went out with your DH and son to your favorite place.  I knew they would make your day special.

Teklya - sorry you are struggling so, but glad you only have 1 more chemo they you are done with that. Know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have been playing the waiting game for my radiation to actually get started on the spot in my back that is causing so  much pain.  Looks like if all goes as planned I will finish this round on my birthday.  After this is over I will be looking for a new RO.  This one makes me crazy and every visit turns into a confrontation and I don't want or need that in my life.  I have enough stress already.  At least he did give me the Rx for the Fentanyl patch that helps with the pain.

Hope everyone has a restful weekend.
